"Hey Nami, why do people cheat ?" The said orange hair women paused on her book and turn in her chair to look at the raven haired boy with a raise brow. "You mean why people cheat on whoever they with ? " Luffy nodded his head still sitting crossed legs on her bed. Nami with her brow still raised by the question then narrowed her eyes at him. "What brought this question up exactly Luffy ?" He simply shrugged his shoulders. "Just wanted to ask thats all." She could tell it was a rather honest answer though it didn't still bother her that he ask such a question. They been friends since childhood and it never cease to amaze her the questions he tends to ask her at times. Sure some was fair enough questions to ask while other times she felt like he would know this already. Really, who ask if Pepsi or Coke better, clearly the answer would be...well it doesn't really matter, point is he should know these things. She then sigh and look at the wall thinking on the question itself. "Well theres never exactly one reason why a person cheats on someone. There can be alot of reasons for it honestly, it really depends on the person whos doing it." Luffy folded his arms and tilts his head once more thinking on the answer. "What kinda reasons though ?" Nami figured he wouldn't accept that answer without more details. "Well it could be that the person is unhappy, or happen to find the person they cheating with to be more attractive or has alot of money or anything really. It really does depend on the person as to why."
Luffy looks down on the floor in thought before looking back up at Nami. "So then cheating is bad then huh ?" Nami looked at him for a moment before turning her chair to the side and sigh, folding her arms and looking up at the ceiling. "Thats hard to say Luffy, cause theres no right or wrong answer to that." Luffy gave her a confused look before she continued. "Yes, cheating in itself is wrong and often times you would be frown upon doing so. But sometimes, stuff like cheating would seem right to someone else." She turn to look at him fully. "For some guys and women they cheat only so they can have something on the side, they don't care if their partner treated them right or if they love them very much. In other words they want their cake and eat it too. Despite the fact it might hurt the person that believed loved them." Luffy listen carefully to Nami's words, he could tell though that something was bothering her but kept quiet on it. "But then theres those whos cheat who just ain't happy with who their with. Then the next thing you know, they meet someone who makes them feel wanted, loved and often times they are in that person's arms instead. Yes, one would think that breaking it off with someone who makes you unhappy with be better, but sometimes we would assume we won't find anybody and thus we convince ourselves that we can work out or even accepted the relationship. For others they would still look at that as bad but for some, they would think it was what their heart wanted and clearly the person they are dating and filling in that empty space." Nami stared at Luffy for a moment before smiling a little bit. "So honestly, theres no real way to answer that question, cause people's views on it would be different."
Luffy stared at Nami before laying his hand on his chin giving her an honest look. "Have you ever thought about cheating Nami ?" Oddly enough despite the bluntness of the question, it didn't bother her any. "Honestly answer ?" Luffy nodded his head, really wanting to know. "When i was dating my ex, there was times i did cheat on him. "Luffy was shocked by this, they been friends for the longest but he never knew she did such a thing nor picked up from it. "It wasn't what you think though, emotionally i was cheating on him." Luffy gave a confused look. "Emotionally ? Like your feelings was cheating on him ?" She nodded her head before closing her eyes to speak. "At the time, there was someone else on my mind that i often thought about." Luffy gave a rather upset look but kept his mouth shut. "See, we been childhood friends, we always been together and he never left my side even through the darkest of times. I always loved that silly smile of his and how he view things in life, i loved how even when i get mad at him he always stay by my side and even let me wear that hat of his whenever i am down. Honestly theres been days where i rather hanged out with him then with my ex at the time." Luffy sat with a rather blank look on his face, though she knowing him, the wheels must be spinning in his head from this info. "Of course i never acted out on those feelings. Because i was worried and scared that he might not feel the same and it would had put a dent in our friendship. So i kept it to myself and sooner or later my ex cheated on me. But i didn't really felt anything from it, not anger or sadness. Though i am sure he felt some things since he was in the hospital last i heard." Nami couldn't help but grin at Luffy who was looking to the side and whistling. "Truth be told, if it was that said friend. I don't think i would feel that bad cheating on anyone with him. Since he truly make me feel like i can be myself. Theres been many times in my head where i wanted to just kiss him and be in his arms. The only thing really stopping me was fear of rejection. I didn't stay with my ex at the time because i couldn't do better, i was simply using him as a means to bury those feelings. But time after time, that dummy only made those feelings grow stronger."
Luffy turn his eyes towards her's and they stared at each other. Luffy honestly wasn't sure what to say, he wasn't THAT clueless to not know who she was talking about but it didn't stop him from feeling rather bashful about it, even a little bit. "Welp, if theres nothing else i'm going to finish my reading." She turned back into her seat to carry on her book, though deep down she couldn't help but feel a tad bit sad that he didn't say anything to her confession, even if it was an unusual one. Before she could do anything however what happen next made her heart skip a beat. "You don't gotta be vague..since i like you too Nami." Nami had a small blush on her face before smiling wide but shook her head and decided to play with him a bit. "I like you too Luffy, but how do you know your the boy i was talking about, i could had meant someone else you know." She waited for a reply but once she didn't get one she thought that maybe he was still in that confused state he normally would be in so she decided to turn to look at him. Only to have his face inches from her's, they simply stared at each other for what felt like hours before he smiled at her. She smiled back at him before leading her head to his and caress his cheek. "Fine, it was you Baka" He gave a huge smile nodded his head. "Shishishi i thought so." She kisses his nose and laughs along with him. He then tilts his head at her and gave a slight pout look. "If i don't make you happy though, would that mean you might cheat on me Nami ?" It was a rather honest question but one that she had no issue answering. "Luffy, you drive me crazy on a daily, theres times i wanna ring your neck from her stupid you get and how damn foolish you be at times." She reached out and pinches his cheeks which cause the raven hair boy to whine in protest. "But theres one thing i know without a shadow of a doubt. You Never will make me unhappy." Luffy looked at her in awe despite the pain she was giving his cheek. "I would never hurt you that way in any fashion. Yea, you'll gonna drive me crazy, mad even but i know for sure you'll never make me unhappy." She let go of his cheek with a smile. "And in that same tooken, i don't gonna worry bout you cheating on me." Theres more then a few reasons why he wouldn't but she was right. She was pretty important to him to ever do so. They looked at each other for a moment before she lay her cheek on her palm. "You know, this the part where you ask me out on a date." Luffy stared at her for a bit with his mouth making an O. He backed up some and clears his throat. "Nami, wanna go out and get some meat ?" He said with all seriousness. She bursted out laughing laying her head on the table to control her laughter before looking back over at him with a smile. "Sure Luffy, i love to go get some meat with you." From a weird confession to an even weirder asking out, though she be lying if she said she disliked weird.
Didn't notice i had a couple of stories i didn't fully finished while doing this one. Legit this one wasn't long to take, just took time to sit and finish it since i been a tad bit busy with my family. Go to show you that i need a break lol. But i hope everyone is doing fine.
