I'm sorry it's been SOOO long since I last posted a chapter but hey Merry Christmas (/Happy Holidays) I wrote this in one day. The reason I hadn't written anything until today is cause I had no idea what to write, I didn't just wanna skip to show events again so I had to think of some original stuff and I finally had an idea.

Sorry about the Format issue, I up;loaded the chapter from my phone and it took out all the spaces between lines, thank you ZabuzasGirl for letting me know.

Love Me As I Am - Paloma Faith

Gaara stared at the blue haired girl across from him, a glass of orange juice halfway to his open mouth. He blinked as he tried to process the question he'd just been asked. As he put down his glass, and closed his mouth, he frowned down at the table they were sat at. Beside him Kankuro was glancing back and forth between the two and Temari had stopped mid-chew to do the same. Rin blinked at their reactions before looking back at her best friend.

"Well?" she asked.

"Could you… repeat the question?" Kankuro asked for his younger brother who looked distressed as he stared holes into his pancakes.

"I asked if Gaara would spar with me?" Rin asked again, slower.

"Do you understand what's wrong with that question?" Kankuro asked. Rin blinked with a slight frown.

"No. I just have a few new techniques I need to get some practice with." She said with a slight shrug.

"I don't want to hurt you." Gaara said in a quiet voice.

"I mean you don't have to go all out." Rin said with a chuckle. "I just wanna try out some things and you're the strongest person I know so I know there's no chance I'd hurt you." Gaara looked up at her as a light dusting of pink covered his cheeks. Temari smiled as Kankuro snickered slightly. "If you want you could just stand there in your sand shieldy thing and dodge, you don't have to hit back… but it would help my training…" she added with a slight pout. She met his eyes and Gaara could already feel his ability to say no slipping away. He let out a sigh.

"Alright, but only for a little while and only to help you get stronger."

"Yay!" she bounced in her seat slightly before taking a bite of her breakfast happily. Gaara couldn't help but smile at her. Kankuro started to snicker again until he receive a kick to the shin. He glared at Temari who sat across from him as she innocently continued eating.

Reluctantly, after breakfast, Gaara went outside with Rin to one of the training areas. Gaara put down his gourd as they faced each other.

"How about you attack but only give it 75%." Rin suggested. Gaara gave her a look. "50?" he crossed his arms. "Oh come on, I have to work on dodging too!" Gaara let out a sigh.

"Kankuro can help you with that." He said. Rin crossed her arms with a pout, actually stomping her foot.

"I don't wanna train with him." She whined. Gaara did his best to hide his amusement as he cleared his throat.

"What about Temari then?"

"Maybe." She said. "Alright, you ready?"

"You shouldn't ask your opponent if they're ready." Gaara chided with a frown. Rin rolled her eyes.

"Fine." she said before she did a few hand signs and inhaled. A blast of water suddenly shot out of her mouth, it hit the boy directly in the face and drenched his hair. He blinked and spit some water out before glaring down at the open gourd beside him.

"That's what you wanted to practice on me?" he asked as he turned a kinder gaze to her. Rin didn't respond as she made another set of hand signs before she put her hands out, palms out. This time a bolt of lightning came out and Gaara's sand came up to block it. The sand blocked most of the direct impact but the electricity sent a shock through the sand and when the blockade of sand went down Rin could see Gaara's, now dry, hair spiked up more than usual. She burst out laughing at the look on his face. "Very funny, Rin." He muttered as he pushed his hair down.

"You should see your face!" she squeaked. Gaara suddenly smirked and Rin let out a surprised yelp as she fell over. "Hey!" She looked up at him as some sand settled by where her feet used to be.

"You should see your face." He said with a bigger smirk.

"Oh it's on Sandman!" Rin stuck her tongue out at him, as she got up, making him smile.

"You need to work on your trash talk, kid." The two turned to see Kankuro walking up, with Temari behind him. "Nice hair." He said looking at his brother who scowled and fixed it some more. "So, are we going to see some actually sparing or are you two just going to flirt all day?"

"What!?" The two turned to stare at him as he smirked at their flushing faces. Temari smacked the back of his head making him flinch.

"Ow!"

"Don't tease them." She scolded him. "Come on Rin, let's see what you got!" she called to the girl.

"Uh…yeah, right." She nodded. "Okay, for real this time."

"Oh good." Gaara said. "I was worried you were serious before." He gave her a smug smirk to egg her on a bit. It worked cause she frowned and didn't give him any warning before doing some hand signs. She slammed her hands on the ground sending a shock wave through the ground. Gaara's sand lifted him up to avoid the shock this time. There was a yelp behind Rin and she turned to see the older siblings standing very stiff with similar hair styles.

"Oops."

"You have to focus it!" Kankuro shouted. "Don't just let it go anywhere!"

"I'm still learning!" Rin shouted back as she put her hands on her hips. Gaara didn't even to hide his amusement as he looked at the two while his sand lowered him back to the ground.

"You know you should really spar with Temari." He said.

"But she's wind." Rin said with a frown.

"Exactly." Temari said. "It'll give you a challenge. Gaara is earth so it's easier for you."

"Easier? I'm still learning how to do these things!" Rin said.

"We could help!" The four looked to see Riku and Kyo jogging over. "You're supposed to be training with us anyways!" Kyo whined.

"Yeah but…" Rin started. "both my chakra types beat yours." She said.

"He's earth too!" Kyo said pointing at Gaara.

"I'm Earth, wind and lightning, I just use sand." Gaara clarified.

"Wait what?" Rin turned to him. He looked at her while the older two ninjas looked surprised.

"You didn't know that?" Kankuro asked.

"He only ever uses sand!" Rin argued.

"And I use puppets but I still have a nature type." Kankuro said. Rin's face started to turn red in embarrassment.

"Well, I-I know but-…" her eyes locked onto the ground.

"You embarrassed her, doll boy!" Kyo shouted. Rin wanted to sink into the ground even more than she did a few seconds ago.

"Doll boy?! Why you little brat-!"

"I'm older than you!" Kyo shouted. Riku sighed, putting a hand to his forehead. Rin started to hug herself slightly as she frowned at the ground. Gaara frowned and took a step towards her but Temari walked over to her first and put a hand on her shoulder.

"Hey, it's okay. There's a lot of different types and combinations. Plus you're right, Gaara only uses his sand. I only use wind because that's all I have but those two have more than one." She said as she motioned to her brothers. Kyo stopped his bickering with Kankuro and turned to the older girl.

"There's only five though, right?" he asked.

"Seriously kid?" Kankuro asked with a blank look.

"What?" Kyo asked. He looked to Riku to back him up but the other boy refused to even look at him. "Whaaaaat?" he whined. Temari sighed.

"Alright, you know the five nature types right?"

"See, five!" Kyo said pointing to Temari. Riku smacked the back of his head. "Ow!"

"Earth, Wind, Fire, Water and Lightning." Rin said.

"But if you combine two of them you get a different type that's a combination of the two and most, if not all the time, it's that ninjas Kekkei Genkai type. Not everyone has one but they still exsist." Temari said. "What are your nature types?" she turned to Rin's teammates.

"Earth." Kyo said.

"Fire and Wind." Riku said.

"What, really?" Kyo turned to him. He quickly ducked, expecting a smack but stood up when Riku didn't move only to get one on the shoulder a moment later. Kyo pouted.

"Alright then, Riku's combination and therefore Kekkei Genkai would be a Scorch Release." She looked at the boy and he nodded in confirmation.

"What would mine be called?" Rin asked.

"Storm Release." Gaara said.

"Cool!" Rin exclaimed with a grin.

"That's if you have one." He told her. She frowned slightly. "But I'm sure you do." He said quickly.

"So Kankuro has Wind, Lightning, Earth and Water meaning he could also have the ability to use Ice, Wood, Storm, Explosion, or Magnet Release as a Kekkei Genkai." Temari said.

"Woah!" Rin and Kyo looked up at Kankuro in awe making the boy smirk.

"But not surprisingly he doesn't have one." Temari added with a teasing smirk.

"Chh-! Hey!"

"Gaara has Earth, Wind and Lightning. That means he could also be able to use Explosion or Magnet Release. Of those two he has Magnet Release because the…" Temari trailed off before looking over at her youngest brother.

"The One-Tail has Magnet Release." Gaara said, not phased.

"So how would I know if my Kekkei Genkai is a Storm Release, I've never done it before." Rin said.

"Have your parents ever talked about it?" Kyo asked. Rin tilted her head as she thought.

"Well… they told me tell them right away if my eyes ever turned red." Rin said. The group stared at her. "Well my mom has a Kekkei Genkai that makes her eyes turn red. Kenta saw it once before I was born."

"And your dad?" Kankuro asked.

"I'm pretty sure he has a Storm Release because my brother does too."

"When did your brother first use it?"

"Uhh… in his Chunin exams." Rin said. "Well my dad told him about it before but he only really did it for his exam."

"What is you mother's Kekkei Genkai?" Riku asked, surprising the group.

"I don't know. She's never told me. But I know for sure I'm not related to Duckbutt." Rin said.

"I'm sorry who?" Kyo asked with a laugh.

"Oh, that's what Naru calls Sasuke." Rin said with a chuckle. "I guess I should ask my mom about it, huh?" she said with a chuckle.

"It would probably help if you could learn how to use it." Temari said. "But until then, you need to practice with your team."

"But I wanna practice with Gaara!" Rin complained as she hugged his arm.

"Rin." He said. She turned to look at him. "You need to learn how to fight as one with your team. You won't be able to do that if you only train with me."

"Yeah but-!"

"We'll see you tonight for dinner." He said with a slight smile. Rin sighed.

"Alright." She said with a frown. "I'll see you later then." She suddenly grinned and pushed down the back of his hair, that had still been sticking up. He playfully swatted her hand away before shaking his head with a smile.

That's it for this chapter, I am SO sorry it's been so long but I just hadn't had any ideas up until now. So as you read I got into Chakra Natures and Kekkei Genkai, Rin's will probably be surprising to most if not all of you. I had to do a bit of research and the other 'Releases' besides the main 5 are only for Kekkei Genkais but I'm pretty sure that two could be used at the same time but like there's no guarantee that someone with Water and Lightning could do Storm Jutsus. (If I'm wrong let me know, I only read on the wikia.) I still have to figure out how to exactly explain/get to the point where we(well you) learn Rin's Kekkei Genkai and her family/clan (I made this decision today that I want her to be part of a clan that already exists, (cause remember she moved to Suna when she was younger, so where was she before then~)
