Epilogue

-10 years later-

(Hugo POV)

I sat in my office in a meeting with Lord Marquee, "Alright so if we change the trade routes to cut through my land, you would be able to cut back on the cost in exchange for the Northern farmlands we discussed." I nodded acknowledging the request and we were finalizing the details when I heard a knock on the door. "Yes," I said and saw the door open. "Daddy, you were supposed to meet us an hour ago," "Emma, you were supposed to wait for the Lord to leave before you knocked." "Well Ethan it is Mia's and my birthday so..." I chuckled and shook my head. "Lord Marquee I believe that the terms of the agreement are clear, why don't we finish this up." Emma had a wide smile across her face and Ethan shook his head and taking her hand to walk her to the hallway. The meeting quickly ended and I saw them waiting for me in the hallway. "Where are the others?" "They are waiting at the gazebo," Ethan said. I nodded and we walked down to join them.

Our family had grown in the last 10 years and I am happy to say my predictions were right. Our oldest son Ethan was now 10 and he did look a lot like me and he was very athletically gifted, just like his parents. He was extremely protective of his younger sisters and his brother, when he wasn't picking on him. Three years after Ethan was born we had our second son, Alden. He looked just like Sofia and I couldn't be more grateful. He was so smart even for a 7 year old and he loved going into the town with Sofia whenever he could. Finally 5 years ago today we had our twins Emma and Mia. Sofia couldn't believe I had been this right about our future. Emma was the older twin and was a very active person. She was a social person and loved being surrounded by others. Mia, the younger twin, kept more to herself. She was shy and nervous but, she was always comfortable around us, especially her brother Alden.

We went to the gazebo and I saw Sofia sitting, listening to Alden reading a story aloud to her and Mia. Emma ran over to Sofia, "Mommy, we got Daddy." She said jumping onto her lap. Sofia laughed, "I hope you didn't interrupt his meetings...again." Emma guiltily blushed and Ethan went over and sat down next to Sofia, "I tried to stop her, Mom." Emma scowled as she looked at her brother and muttered, "Momma's boy." Sofia chuckled shaking her head, "Of course you did." She then turned to Alden who had closed the book and picked Mia up and placed her on his lap, "We will finish the story later." He nodded, "Of course Mom."

She stood up and held Emma on her hip, "Well now that we are all here we have two very important birthdays to celebrate." I walked over and took Emma, "Yes we do and something tells me that there is something very special for you two in the picnic basket." We all sat down together. Sofia and then took Mia into her lap, "Happy Birthday my little princesses. Are you ready?" She asked. They both nodded their heads. Every year on our kids' birthdays Sofia choose one of the beams and the gazebos and would mark their height. Emma went first and was wiggling around as Sofia took her height. "Well look how much taller you got," I said gesturing to the heights. Emma was smiling looking toward her brothers, "I am taller than both of you were when you were 5." "No you're not" Ethan said going over to look at the markers. Alden rolled his eyes and laughed. While those two were fighting I looked over at Mia, "It's your turn." She stood up and walked to her pillar and Sofia marked her height. "Look you got taller too," Mia smiled and hugged Sofia and I.

(Sofia POV)

Hugo pulled out a birthday cake and I lit the candles. We sang Happy Birthday to the girls and spent the rest of the day out in the gazebo. Emma then turned to me and asked, "Can we open our presents?" I turned to Hugo, "Did we get the girls any presents?" "No, I don't think we did this year" Hugo said playing into the joke. Emma and Mia looked up at us with wide eyes, "We aren't getting any presents this year?" I brought my hand to the chin, "I think I might have saw a thing or two in the bottom of the picnic basket." Ethan who was sitting next to the basket looked inside and pulled out two wrapped presents. "Looks like this one is for Emma," he said handing one to Emma, "and this one is for Mia." They both opened their presents and saw the necklaces we had gotten them. Mia looked up at us, "Thank you Mommy and Daddy." Emma then asked, "Why do they have clararose pendants?" Ethan and Alden then showed the girls their pins, "Mom and and Dad gave them to us when we turned 5 as well. They said that they were meant to protect us." I smiled at Hugo as we helped the girls put on their necklaces. "As long as you where these know that someone is looking over you," I said clasping it onto Mia. "Ok Mommy," she smiled. Emma smiled too and then they went back to playing with their brothers.

Our little family was perfect and I loved every minute we spent with them. Emma and Mia ended up falling asleep on the blankets and we had to carry them to their room. Hugo picked up Emma and I picked up Mia, the boys walked with us to their room. We placed them down on their beds and Emma woke up, "Where is everybody going?" Mia then woke up, "Is our birthday over already." I then walked over to Mia's bed, "Sweetie it is late and you need to go to bed." "Can we finish the story first?" She asked. I turned over to Alden, "How about we hear a new story?" He asked sitting down on Mia's bed. Emma climbed out of bed and climbed I as well, "Please can we hear a story." Ethan then crawled in next to Emma, "I'm not the only one going to bed, story time." I turned to Hugo who smiled and jumped into bed in next to Ethan, "I vote story." I laughed, "Alright make room for me." I climbed into the bed as well, laying next to Alden. "What story do you guys want to hear?" Our kids all shared a look and then Emma asked, "How did you and Daddy meet?"

Hugo turned red, "Are you sure this is the story you want to hear?" They all nodded. I smiled at Hugo, "Do you want to take it or should I?" Hugo fell back into the bed, "You take it, I'm going to come off bad no matter who tells it." "Why is Daddy going to 'come off bad' Mommy?" Mia asked and Alden picked her up and placed her on his lap so they could lean in closer. Ethan saw this and did the same with Emma. "Well, let me tell you about how Mommy became a princess and then I will explain how I met Daddy. It all started a long time ago in the kingdom of Enchancia, you see Mommy wasn't born a princess like Emma and Mia..." I began to tell them about how I became a princess and then about Flying derby. Ethan looked over at Hugo, "Seriously Dad, you did that to Mom?" He hung his head low. I then stepped in, "That might have been how we met, but your Dad has more than made up for it throughout the years. You see when your Uncle James hurt his arm and couldn't fly in the Flying Crown your Dad is the one who stepped in and he told me about all the pressure he faced. We teamed up and together we won the Flying Crown using the Flying Slingshot, that is when we became friends. We then went on to Enchanted Ice Dance with one another and then later in life he saved my life... twice." Alden then asked, "How did Dad save your life?" and Ethan asked, "What happened when you guys were Enchanted Ice Dancing?" "Those are stories for when you are older." We looked over at the twins and they were fast asleep on their brothers' laps. Alden smirked at Hugo and I, "Family sleepover?" We nodded and saw the boys fall asleep. I looked over at Hugo, "How was your meeting?" I whispered. "It went well, I'm sorry I was late." I shook my head, "You weren't late Emma is impatient." He held in a laugh and nodded. "Is this how you imagined them? Our family?" I asked. He thought for a moment and then shook his head, "No, it is better than I ever could have imagined." I smiled, "I love you." "I love you too" He said.

Author's Note:

This is the end of the Road to Coronation. Thank you so much for reading my story, I really appreciate all your support. I hope you all enjoyed my stories. This segment of the Hugo & Sofia aspect of this story is over, sorry. I am thinking about writing more though potentially about Desmond & Amber, James & Clio or even writing more about Sofia and Hugo's children. Hugo and Sofia would be in all these stories but, would not be the focus. Please write me in the reviews or private messages to let me know which you would be more interested in. Thanks again and have a great day :)
