Conner's P.O.V.
I was in the garage with Wolf working on repairing Supercycle when I heard some commotion happening in other areas of the Cave. "Weird, we usually don't have training when the others are off-world. What do you think Wolf?" I asked my partner. He stared at the door, fur standing and ears flat against his head. He snarled at the doorway, "Who's there? Show yourself now or else," I warned whoever might be out there. Picking up the ratchet I was using, I stood facing the door, Supercycle, and Wolf at my side ready to attack with a single command.
"Alright, alright, calm down. I come in peace," the door opened up to reveal a sexy looking teenager, dressed in skin-tight black leather pants, a blood-red shirt with a cropped black leather jacket. He walked in with his hands held up in the air, wearing fingerless leather gloves with silver nail polish, he didn't look threatening. But that's how a lot of threats look like at first glance. I had to admit though, staring at his face made me feel weird, "I just wanted to talk to you, if you'd let me."
I glanced at Wolf who sat down, Supercycle changed into her sphere form. Lowering my fist and dropping the ratchet, "Ok, if you only want to talk then you should start by giving me the reason why you're here and how you got here," I demanded. I had a feeling he was telling the truth of only wanting to talk but the fact that he was able to sneak into the Cave without triggering any of the alarms was causing a bunch of warning bells in my head to go off.
He looked me up and down as if assessing a threat, which I couldn't blame him since I was doing the same thing. "What were you working on before I came in? I could see tools on the floor and you have oil rags on your shirt, you working on a bike or something?" He asked looking at the tools while walking around the garage.
"No, I was actually working on repairs on Supercycle from our last mission," I answered without thinking. Sphere rolled over to the stranger, "You still haven't answered my question you know."
" My name is Micheal, I was sent here to follow up on a lead. My friends and I are looking for a criminal that was supposed to remain in isolation but he escaped and we're charged with bringing him in to answer for the crimes he's committed against our people," Micheal answered.
"If he's a criminal why not just let the authorities deal with him and if he's superpowered you could just leave it to the League," I asked him. He looked at me and tilted his head like a wild cat approaching his prey with a fanged smile. "I-I-I-I mean wouldn't it be better to have everyone looking for a criminal? I.. um, I could help you and your friends in taking him down," I blushed as he was only a few inches away from me.
"You know, not many people have offered to help us out. I've been alone for so long that I forgot what it's like to have people who are genuinely worried about you," He looked down, I placed a comforting hand on his shoulder and used my other to have him look up into my eyes. "That was how it was for a while until he saved me from myself. Can I introduce you to a friend of mine? Not the one who saved me but he's like a brother to me,"
"As long as you guys don't mean us any harm I don't see why not," I told him reassuringly.
He hugged me and whispered, "Don't be scared, just relax and have an open mind." I felt myself nodding, putting my trust in this stranger's hands for some strange reason. He went to the door and shouted, "He Hector! Come over here and meet my new friends!" Micheal moved aside from the doorway to reveal another teenager, but he looked more like a hunter than anything else. The first thing I noticed was his combat boots and camouflage shorts with no shirt. On his whole upper body were tattoos of stars with a flute on his belt.
"Hi, you must be Superboy. My name is Hector, it's nice to meet you," Hector greeted with a smile on his face and his hand out. I shook it, nodding in confirmation.
"Strong grip you have," I told him, starting to wonder what exactly is going on. But as soon as those thoughts started getting into my head I started remembering that Micheal told me to keep an open mind with Hector. And I didn't want to disappoint him with my suspicions.
"So Superboy, I'm really sorry that we interrupted you. Would you be willing to give us a chance to make it up to you?" Micheal asked me with his eyes shining with hope. My heart melted at that, I just had a soft spot for people asking for a chance to earn forgiveness.
"Alright fine, if you tell me how you were able to get into the Cave, I'll forgive you both," I sighed.
"We walked straight through the door," Micheal exclaimed with joy. I looked over to Hector and he nods in confirmation. "Hey! If you want I can show you a trick that made walking in so much easier! I'll even bet you've never seen or heard of something like it!"
"Alright, if I win you and your friends have to tell me about this criminal your after and let me help in catching this guy," I said smirking at the two teens.
"Alright, but if we win, we get to bring you with us to introduce you to our boss," Hector says. He glances over at Wolf, "Wolf can come to, I actually wanna see if he'd be of any help."
"If you can knock me out then sure. We have a deal," I confidently told them.
"Alright, but it's so hot in here right? The thermostat must've been tampered with by someone else during training or something," Micheal stated, I started feeling the heat he was talking about. "You should really fix that thing up before it gets worse, wait! What if it's not just the temperature that's faulty?" I started getting worried. If what he's saying is true then that would explain why the alarms in the Cave didn't go off to alert them of the intruders. "Man, that sounds way too overly complicated, don't you think? Like why can't these things be a little simpler? Makes me feel tired just thinking about it! Aren't you a little bit tired Conner?"
I yawned, feeling my shoulders slump because of how tired my body felt. My legs started giving way and I almost hit the floor, if it wasn't for Hector catching me in his arms. I felt so comfortable, but something was bugging me. I never told Micheal my human name! Hector put me over his shoulder and with his other hand he took out his flute and I started getting really sleepy. The melody putting more weight onto my eyelids compared to before.
"We win, go to sleep Conner. You'll be safe with us. Wolf come on, you know we won fair and square so might as well follow so you can keep an eye on Superboy yourself," I heard Hector say before my eyes closed and I was tossed into a dreamless sleep.
