Ch. 02 White Rose Festival

"are you sure this is the right way, King?" Diane asked as she saw they were walking in an unfamiliar route

"Yeah... I think?"

"King, dont tell me were lost?" the giantess complained with a disappointed look on her face

king sighed as he pointed "I am sorry, Diane"

He then noticed a Village near the lake they were passing by "Hey there's a village next to that lake, I guess we could ask there where we are exactly"

Diane laughed and smiled "Sounds good and it's okay, there really is never a dull moment with you, okay let me put my ring on, dont want to scare the villagers"

"Diane you dont have to, you are known as a hero remember, we saved Britannia from disaster your name and identity are pretty known by now..."

"I know..." Diane said "But I do enjoy being small, I also can hug you and kiss you without the fear of hurting you" as she put the ring and kissed it. The giantess started to decrease in size to the point where she could no longer fit in those clothes, leaving her naked. As he saw her King started to blush and have a slight nose bleed

"Diane Let me help you with that" He snapped his fingers, with his magic he created a tornado of leaves and twigs surrounding the small giantess, creating clothes that actually fit her.

"Oh wow king this is beautiful, thank you so much" she said in a gleeful tone, she was wearing a beautiful white casual summer dress.

King blushed and smiled "I am glad you liked it Diane, you look gorgeous I mean you always look gorgeous in anything you wear... Not that you don't look gorgeous naked.. He stopped and said to himself "(what the fuck am I saying!? I sound like such a perv...)" he turned bright red.

Diane saw his discomfort and how bright red he was, she found it adorable "You're so silly King, we've kissed and touched countless of times and yet you still act shy and blush whenever you see me naked or whenever you try to compliment me"

He felt a bit hurt by her comment, even though he knows she meant well "I am such a loser huh, Diane?... Even with all my powers and my new form I am still the same King that doesn't know how to express himself with the woman he lov-" Diane interrupted King with a passionate kiss, she embraced the fairy as she kept kissing him, she then paused for a moment.

"Stop..." She pecked him and continued "I love you... The way you are, everything you are, King... How you love me, how you care for me, how you blush whenever you find yourself saying something you think you shouldn't say, every single little thing that makes... you"

she smiled and continued "When I saw you for the first time with your fully developed wings, I was awed by how handsome you looked but at the same time I was afraid... Afraid that you wouldn't be the same King...My King... but you put those fears at ease...When you read my heart and told me you were still you.." she started to tear up "I was so happy...All I wanted to do was kiss you but we had an important mission to complete before we could embrace" she smiled "I love you King, with all my heart, you're not a loser, to me you're the best"

He smiled as tears started forming in his eyes "Thank you Diane, for loving me this much as I promised to you all those years ago I promised to cherish you, love you and never leave your side..I love you too..."

She smiled and gave him a quick kiss "Okay I think thats enough for now... lets keep moving"

A blushing King replied "Right!"

They continued walking towards the village, there seemed to be a festival of some sort. They had plenty of white roses, paper lanterns and fairy lights all over the place, in the middle of the village there is a small plaza filled with vendors of many sorts, from food to trinkets. There were many people are gathered celebrating and enjoying their time. Diane's eyes lighted up when she saw all the festivities going on, on this village.

"Wow I wonder what they are celebrating?" she asked, a random villager overheard her and walked up to her

"you two are not from around here, huh?

King responded "Yeah... We are kinda lost I-" before he could continued Diane interrupted

"What are you guys celebrating anyways?"

The villager bewildered by her question "Oh? you don't know? well that's a first since this village is known for this festival" the man continued "This village is called Applethorn, we are currently celebrating The White Rose festival and we-" Before the man could continue Diane interrupted with a question

"Sorry for interrupting but why is it called The White Rose Festival?"

The villager said "I am glad you asked young lady... Long ago in this village there was a beautiful woman, she use to assist our local church, and all around loved person, her kindness and her willingness to give everyone a chance despite where they came from. She met a man but this was no ordinary man, he was a werewolf. Everyone in the village despised him, even though he saved the village from disaster thousands of times. He was as selfless as one can be, they fell in love... Outside the church he would always leave her a bouquet of white roses. Sometimes he would leave a single rose on her window with a letter telling her where to meet, their love seemed like a bliss and even the village was starting to accept him and their love. But unfortunately... their love wasn't meant to be it seems... The woman was forced to marry the son of a noble man from a distant kingdom, he wanted to take her for himself. As she left...she threw petals of white roses, in hopes that her beloved would find her and thus could finally be reunited. But unfortunately that didn't happen, he was burnt at the stake for a crime he didn't even commit, of course this was a ruse by that same noble man to keep them apart. in his remains they found burnt petals of a white rose. Their love met a sad demise. The villagers felt remorse when they found out that the werewolf man was innocent and all he wanted to do was be with the woman he loved. So the village created this festival to honor the star-crossed lovers as an apology to them."

Diane with tears in her eyes "That's so sad... Humans can be so cruel sometimes even to their own kind"

"What a horrible fate those two met..." King said

"Yes..." the villager said "So in a way this festival is to atone for what we did and also remember these lovers, you see that statue of a woman and a werewolf, they are the two star-crossed lovers that met their demise, we honor them for their kindness and despite of everything till the very end they cared for this village" the man continued "Anyways enough of this sadness this is a time for celebration to celebrate the love they had, so here take this" he handed King and Diane a pair of masks a simple white masquerade mask and a wolf masquerade mask "wear these when you enter the festival at the plaza"

"Thank you! they look amazing!" she smiled as they both took the masks, King also thanked the man.

"Alright you two I am going to leave, I have some things to prepare for the festival, I hope you enjoy yourselves"

King and Diane responded "We will thank you..."
