Always and Forever

Ch. 03 The Flower Shop

As they were headed towards the plaza to go to the festival, Diane had a sad look on her face, King noticed how awfully quiet she became after the man left.

"Diane what's wrong?" the worried fairy asked, she looked at him, while trying to muster up a smile but really could not.

"I am just so sad, the story the man told us... What if the fairies don't accept me as your wife? what if the giants dont aprove of us? what if the fairies and giants don't want to join each other in the Fairy King Forest" she started tearing up as she continued "there's so many thoughts going through my head, King and I..."

King stopped her "Diane, if I had to choose between my kingdom and you... I will always choose you, if they can't accept us... They will have to appoint another fairy king and giant queen. It's you and me all the way, my sweet Diane. I promised you that I will never leave your side and if I did I will always come to you. I broke many promises in the past and I've done horrible things. But, the only things I don't ever regret doing is meeting you and spending all those years together, if I went back in time I will do everything the same way, I did had regrets before but now..." He got closer to the small giant and caress her face

"Now... I am finally able to be with you and live our lives together. Trust me when I say this... My love for you will never waver, I am not gonna let anyone get in the way of our love, you are my everything Diane, I would probably still be filled with anger and hate towards humans if it wasn't for you, your kindness melted my heart all those years ago, so my kingdom and yours will just have to accept our love"

Diane was speechless, all she could do was hug and give King a small kiss on the lips. They continued walking towards the plaza till they finally arrived. The plaza was filled with people that had white masks and wolf masks, everyone was either eating, drinking, looking at things to buy or dancing. Diane's mood picked up when she saw how happy the people were, in the middle of the plaza, the statue that the man talked about stood there, surrounded by bouquets of white roses, letters tied to white roses and white rose scented candles, it was really a lovely sight.

Diane was in awe when she saw the statue surrounded by all the roses "It's beautiful"

"Yeah..it really is a beautiful sight" King responded as he saw his beloved walked towards the statue, he thought to himself "(Diane looks really amazing in that dress, she is so gorgeous)"

She turned around and saw king "King come on! let's check out the festival!" He finally snapped out of his thoughts and replied "Right, sorry... Coming Diane!"

Both the shrunken giantess and fairy king scouted the festival. The place was filled with laughter, there was a series of pleasant smells, from roses to all the food that the vendors were selling. Next to the statue there is a small stage where people gather to dance or listen to the musicians play their music. As they were walking around the festival they saw the villager from earlier, they meet eyes and he greeted the couple.

"Hey you two! so you decided to visit the festival after all, thats great! are you enjoying yourselves so far?"

King responded "we arrived not to long ago, by the way we didn't catch your name"

The man responded "Oh my sincerest apologies, my name is Lupin... Lupin Roseblanche"

Diane continued "Sir Lupin, everything is so beautiful, specially the statue. I love how the people leave beautiful roses around it. My fiancé and I want to buy some roses to put them around the statue as well... Oh! speaking of which! I also saw many people tie letters to roses and that reminded me of what you told us how the werewolf man wrote a letter that said where to meet and tie that to a single white rose and put it on her window"

"Ah yes" replied the man "it has now become a tradition here in this festival. Write a letter to each other saying what you mean to one another and what you wish for in the future in regards of your love. All of it has to be in the same paper, once its written you will tie with a red string around the white rose and leave it on the feet of the statue, once the festival is over we gather all the dried up roses and we burn them, thus sending those wishes for the universe to fulfill."

"That is so beautiful, lets write one ourselves, King!"

King smiled nervously "If that is what you wish, okay let's do it"

The Man slightly smiled "If your love is true, it will transcend everything, even death itself... By the way, what are you two doing after the festival? are you planing to leave the village?"

"Yeah that was the plan" King said "We really need to get back to The Fairy King forest"

"Ah, you must be the infamous Harlequin, are you not?" the man replied

Confused, King replied "huh? how did you..."

Lupin chuckled "I knew you looked familiar Child, you and that girl are known all around the land along with the other 7 deadly sins, you saved us from the demon clan"

"I guess you were right King, people really do know us even remote places like this" Diane responded

"tell you what" Said the man "why don't you two stay at my place, I will tell you how to get back to your Kingdom from this place."

"Thank you Sir Lupin, we accept your offer, we really appreciate your kindness" Diane replied gleefully

"Please dear call me Lupin, no need for formalities, child"

King responded "Thank you, Lupin. As Diane said we will take you up on that offer"

"Good, for now just continue to enjoy the festival, let's meet at the statue at 12am, that's when the shining rose petals ceremony starts"

"what's that?" Diane asked

"Oh forgive me, it's the ending ceremony, everyone gathers and goes to the lake where we write the name of our beloved in a petal of rose. If you are a couple you write both of your names on a single white rose petal and release it to the lake, then the lake will light up in a light purple color the petals will start to float and turn in to small lights that will float towards the sky, and with that the festival ends"

Diane beaming with happiness " We have to see that! I really want to see that, we also need to write that letter King!" she grabbed him and ran towards a flower shop they found earlier while they were checking out the festival

"We will see you later, Lupin"

Lupin waved at the couple "Run along now, don't forget meet up at 12am near the statue"

The giantess and the fairy, started walking towards the flower shop. After battling a huge crowd of people they finally arrived at the shop, as they opened the door they were met by a series of smells from lavender, roses, among other flowers. The shop itself was quite small, but very cozy, everything was neatly in order. Soon they were greeted by a strawberry blonde haired short girl, King right away noticed.

"You're a fairy aren't you?"

The girl grinned "Nothing escapes his majesty... Quite perceptive as always, King Harlequin"

"I knew it was you, Abelia... I am glad you're doing okay but What are you doing here?"

She pointed at the list of impatient costumers behind them "Let me finish attending them and close up shop so we can talk in peace"

She greeted the last costumer "Thank you for your preference, enjoy the festival" she then proceeded to close her shop, much to the dismay of people that wanted to buy flowers, she shrug and said "I have some business to attend, I'll open in an hour, sorry for the inconvenience" She closed the door behind her and invited King and diane to her house which was next to the shop.
