Always and Forever
Ch. 07 Her Biggest Fear
"I think this is the place, King. The key is moving and shining like crazy" Diane pointed "Oh wow this place is huge!"
"I can't believe he lived here all by himself" King said as he put the key inside the lock to open the door
As soon as he opened the door he was greeted by a very cheerful young lady wearing a maid outfit.
"Hello! You are finally here! Sir Lupin told us all about you! come in! come in!" she said she shoved King and Diane inside the manor.
"My name is Alexandria, I am a familiar servant of Sir Lupin"
Diane smiled and asked "Did Sir Lupin lived here by himself with you?"
The girl smiled "Oh no there are more of us, we are a family of familiar servants summoned by Sir Lupin, he gave us a chance to roam the earth in exchange of being his familiars, we happily obliged. We served under him in the demon world as well, but we did other things... Life on earth has been pretty amazing...Oh dear there I go again rambling, anyways let me show you to your rooms..."
she pauses for a moment to observe King and Diane, she noticed that they were holding hands.
"Or Room...?"
King and Diane blushed and he shyly replied "Yes a single room please"
The young demon girl with a smug look on her face "one bed ri-" she paused for a moment "Oh before that... Would you like us to prepare some dinner for you?"
Diane responded "Oh no thank you we already ate a lot of yummy things at the festival"
Alexandria replied "The white rose festival ahhh... I wanted to go but Sir Lupin told us not to leave the manor, we go every year but this time Sir Lupin decided to visit the festival, he partakes in the preparations but when its time for the festival he always sits out and tells us to go out and enjoy. But now I know why he told us to stay and take care of things..." she smiled. "Alright so no dinner then, okay! right this way, lovers"
They continued walking, the hallways seemed long and endless, the house itself had a rustic decor to it, Diane was in awe of how big the place seemed. Everything was in order, clean and the house had a nice lavender and rose scent to it.
Diane commented "Wow, this place is gorgeous"
the girl smiled and replied "Oh yeah only the best for Sir. Lupin, even though he has gone he told us we could stay or we could leave if we please but we really don't want to leave, we love this town, we love the people. Everyone has been nothing but kind to us. So we want to stay in care this town ever needs protection, we were orginally..."
An older man with pale skin and dark hair approached the young lady "That's quite enough Alexandria, you always ramble and yet you forget your main duties, these people are guests of Sir. Lupin, have some respect"
Diane nervously smiled "Oh it's okay Alexandria has been really nice to us, please don't reprimand her"
The older man stared at the giantess "Alright, be thankful Alexandria that this young woman showed kindness towards you"
Alexandria with her head lowered "Thank you Lady Diane, I shall go and prepare the room for you please wait in the room foyer" she ran towards the room as quickly as she could.
The older man smiled "That girl..." he then realized he was next to Diane and King "Oh goodness where are my manners? My name is Sebastian, I am the steward of this house, I am in charge of everything while the master is gone."
Diane replied "Oh! nice to meet you, I am Diane and this is King" King responded "Nice to meet you, Sebastian"
Sebastian laugh "Nice to meet you both, but Master Lupin already told us all about you, as he said you can stay as long as you like. The master also told me you need to get back to the fairy king forest right?"
King nodded "Yes that's right, do you know how to get there from here?"
Sebastian responded "Oh course...Here.." he handed him a crystal "This will guide you back to the fairy kingdom where ever you are"
Diane beaming with excitement asked "Really?! that's so impressive! King how come you don't have one of those?"
He replied "Only Helbram and..." He paused and asked "wait isn't this Abelia's"
Sebastian smiled "Yes that is correct, lady Abelia gave this to Master Lupin as a token of gratitude when he nursed her back to health, the master didn't wanted to keep it but she insisted"
King thinking to himself ("That makes sense, Abelia was never the one to be in debt with other people, she right away repays favors. I guess she really hasn't changed all these years")
"Sir.." Sebastian called "Alexandria just informed me that your room is ready"
King replied "Oh...Thank you, come on Diane"
Diane was staring outside the window looking at the lights that were all over town she thought to herself ("Wow the view looks great")
King once again called "Diane? Hello?"
Diane finally responds "Huh? Oh!...Sorry King!" she smiles and winks "I was just looking at the town, what a great view"
"Sebastian told us our room is ready, let's go"
Diane nodded "Alright time for bed then!"
They went to the room and before closing the door King says "Thank you, goodnight"
Sebastian and Alexandria respond "Goodnight see you tomorrow" Then sebastian added "is there a peticular time you would like us to wake up at?"
King responded "It's fine, Diane usually wakes up very early so there is no need, thank you"
Alexandria responded "if there is anything you need just ring that crystal bell next to your side of the bed either Me, Sir Sebastian or any of the other servants will be there to assist you, goodnight"
King smiled "Thank you, goonight" he finally closes the door. "Finally some alone time..." He notices Diane staring at the window once again but this time it was the window in the room that they were sleeping in he asks "What's wrong, my love?"
Diane pensive and quietly responds "I don't know I have this weird feeling in my mind...Suddenly I feel afraid something might happen to you. I don't ever want to lose you, King. I... I am...I am scared"
She holds him "Please dont ever leave me, not anymore okay...Promise me..."
He smiles, kisses her forhead as he holds her tight "I am not going to leave you, not anymore Diane. I am no longer the man that use to run away from things, I will stay by your side and fight for you. I love Diane and you are very precious to me."
Diane with tears in her eyes "I am so happy that we are together, I am sorry... I don't know whats happening, why am I so clingy and sentimental...I know I am usually like this but-"
Before she could continue talking, he interrupted her with a kiss on the lips. The kiss started to become more passionate blossoming in to a full on make out session...King suddenly stops, noticing Diane getting a bit annoyed that he stopped
"I am sorry Diane... But if we keep going I don't know if I'll be able to stop myself, are you sure about this?"
Diane smiled and kissed him "Yes I am sure, I've been waiting for this..." She pull hims closer and continues to kiss him in to the night.
. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . Later that night . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
She was running but as hard as she tried she couldn't reach him "Harlequin, please stop don't leave. You promised to stay with me, I need you. Please don't do this to me, don't do this to us"
The orange haired fairy continued walking without stoping until he reached the end of the hill, he then stopped turned around and said "I am sorry Diane" he then fell to his demise, without even trying to fly to save himself, falling to his death.
Diane finally reached the end of the hill only to see the fallen King, she screams "HARLEQUIN!"
Diane awakens dripping in sweat, a worried king grabbed a tissue to clean her sweaty face
"Oh thank goodness you're awake, I kept trying to wake you but I couldn't it seemed like you were caught in a trance and I couldn't get you out of it"
"Harlequin it was horrible, I saw you dying right before my eyes when I tried to reach you, I couldn't... I couldn't reach you as hard as I tried. M-"
He stoped her "I swear I am not going anywhere, I am not gonna make you suffer like that. I would rather die than..."
She stopped him "No! Don't say that please..." she hugged him and started crying "I don't want you to die, I couldn't take that if you were to die... I would die with you, this world isn't worth living if you're not with me... I can't be without you, I don't want to be without you, as selfish as that sounds but you're my world, if you were gone my world wouldn't make sense anymore, I will for sure fall in to despair, specially after what happened last night between us... We connected in such a special way that... I don't want this to ever end. I don't ever want to sleep by myself again..."
He caressed her face "My Diane" he pulls her closer to him "I am not going to leave you.. I'll say it a thousand times if I have to, just to reasure you that I will stay right beside you... You saved me from myself, you saved me literally from dying, I wouldn't be here right now next to you if you hadn't saved me back then."
He kissed her as he continued talking
"Remember...When you found me in the river. When I came to, I was afraid at first but then I realized that it was you that saved me. You nursed me back to health. Your love and kindness made me see that the world wasn't as ugly as I thought, you opened my heart. Because of you Diane... I learned to trust humans, I learned to trust others a bit more. Without you I will probably be the same distrustful King."
Diane with tears in her eyes she holds him tight "My King... I can't wait to spend the rest of my life with you in the fairy king forest" she started kissing him, as she kept going things started to get heated, they let their passion run wild through the night.
. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . The next day . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
He opened his eyes, still trying coming only to realize that his lover wasn't next to him, he wondered "Where's Diane" he then heard a cheerful voice
"Good Morning sir!"
King got startled "Alexandria! You scared me and don't call me sir, the name is King remember?"
The girl with a smug look on her face "Nevermind that... You are looking for her huh?"
annoyed King replied "Yes, where is she?"
Alexandria responded "She got up really early and said she wanted to go walk around town, anyways I have to go if you need anything just ring the bell" she waved and closed the door of the room that King is currently in.
King seemed worried and thought to himself ("That's weird, Diane never leaves like that...She would have left me a note or something. I wonder if she is okay?")
He left the manor to look for Diane, he went to the plaza first, only to find her in front of the fountain in the plaza. He smiled and before he could say anything he noticed that she was clearly upset.
He rushes towards her, embraces her and asks "What's wrong, Diane?"
As she felt King wrap her arms around her, she felt the warmth of his embrace, she started to calm down and gather her thoughts to explain to his beloved what was going on
"King I am sorry, I am sorry to always worry you all the time... The dream I had last night still lingers, in the back of my mind I always think that maybe this happiness isn't going to last something or someone will snatch you away from me yet again... and I-"
Before she could continue, he interrupted her with a kiss and held her tight. Without words, he wanted to reassure her that he wasn't going to leave his side and if that day ever came he will find his way back to her. After they finished their kiss he said "Come on let's go back to sir Lupin's place"
Diane with a sheepish smiled nodded as they made their way back to the manor.
