70 I Am Still Here.
"Ada! Ada!"
A growing sense of unease started to overwhelm the wood elf's senses as his feet began to fly over the charred and blackened remains of the once robust and vibrant trees.
There was no reply.
Heart thundering within his chest he continued on, paying scant heed to his own safety his speed increasing as panic threatened to snatch away all reason.
He must still be here. After all the archer had faced. He could not bear to finally return home only to find…
"Ada! Ada!"
"Ion nin?"
His feet stumbled and if not for muscle memory the elf would now be falling towards the ground not hanging from a bough, singed black but still living, high above the forest floor, eyes straining to pinpoint the owner of the reply.
"Ada?"
"Ion!"
He let go, dropping down through the maze of branches to land at last, covered in soot and trembling with emotion before the figure he had so long wished to see.
"Ada!" He rushed into the open arms of his father. "Ada, I could not find you. I thought…"
Tears began to spill onto the older elf's tunic as the archers words faded away.
"Hush my son." Thranduil soothed. "I am still here." He kissed the top of Legolas' golden head.
"And you are home at last."
