Chapter 20

Crypt found him.

He has been stalking him for some time and knew for a fact that his father must have come from this human. He has the same skin tone as he does, but no scales, but there was a little confusion. There was another around, who was similar to the man he stalked, but had four arms and five eyes. Yet the smell of him wasn't the same as his father, yet the human before him…

"I suggest you stop following me, whatever you are." Came a deep gruff voice.

Crypt froze as he slinked out, his eyes came upon the human and he knew without a doubt, this was the man his father came from. "I… I…" Crypt began to say yet got tongue tied.

The man turned and faced him, he froze instantly at the sight. "What the hell…" he muttered.

"My name is Crypt!" he shouted. "My father was cloned from you, I got curious!"

"Hey Zombieman, you found your little counter part?!"

Crypt jumped as the massive man known as Knuckle appeared. He's been with Boon and Bam quite often, but he smiled as his eyes peered down at him.

"What the hell is he?"

"Well… honestly, you can call him your son in a sense!"

Zombieman froze as he peered down at Crypt oddly. "Son?" he asked.

"Yeah, you remember that little pep talk Boros gave about cloning a bunch of us, well, yours got busy!" he snickered. "This here is Crypt, ran away from home became he had too many brothers and sisters to compete with. Wasn't happy about that."

Crypt peered away. "So, you were curious as to who your father came from?" Zombieman asked.

His head nodded. "Also… I… miss him."

Knuckle smirked as he picked Crypt up off the floor. "Zman, spend some time with him!"

"What? I don't have any…"

"Just for a while… he's a little boy, missing his old man. You are the next best thing to that, come on…"

Crypt didn't see any warmth in this man's eyes, but he sighed aloud and took him from Knuckle. "Fine," he muttered. "Kid, don't venture too far from me, understood!"

He nodded.

Zombieman adjusted his straps on his shirt, he was able to tuck Crypt in close to him and then hide him within his jacket. "Just for a little while, okay?" he said in a begrudging tone

Crypt began to tune him out. He started to nestle up against Zombieman's shoulder and smiled. It was the time alone he had always wanted with his own father, but his brothers and sisters always shoved him out of the way or made certain he never got a turn.

He became so comfortable. He accidently fell asleep!

Yuki was adjusting to the new hands in the lab. The borg that looks a lot like the former hero known as Metal Knight that Alley has called Bofoi, stood in the lab and took it all in. It's been doing this ever since it came into the Association. "Miss Brawler has greatly improved the facilities since I last saw them…"

"Uh… huh…" Yuki said with great confusion. He turned to Genus who appeared just as confused as he was.

"She did have a robot called Bofoi she used around the lab, but Boros asked to borrow it and well… here we are." He whispered.

"So, Bofoi, what do you do?" Yuki asked aloud.

"I assist Miss Brawler in her tasks, but so far, she has yet to ask anything of me. So I am right now assessing all assets as well as tools and information to store at a later date for when my help is needed."

"Creepy," he whispered to himself.

Alley then came into the lab but appeared rather vexed. "You think things can't get any weirder around here huh?" she said with a sigh. "Oh Bofoi, I am so sorry I haven't introduced you to everyone… love the new look by the way"

The borg smiled. "Thank you Miss Brawler, I am better equip now to service you and your tasks at hand. I have also assessed the former lab and have done upgrades already. Those living within have assisted greatly in the matter…"

"Shit, I forgot all about them…"

"Oh?" Yuki asked.

"They are former members of the house of evolution, but want to live peacefully, at least as best as they can…" Genus explained. "I have been checking up on them as well Alley, no need to worry. Their needs are met as well as they have been assisting when you and the family have been unavailable."

She gave a nod of gratitude.

"So… sis… what's the situation?" Yuki asked.

She appeared rather frustrated and sighed aloud. Metal Bat is going to remain in hiding for the time being, since he wants to take care of Pac and Zenko. The Neo Hunter she discovered is named Bane, who was created from the aftermath of getting Bad a new human body. At the same time to avoid suspicion, Bane is going to be targeting the heroes of the Association to show he isn't on any one person's side and avoid having the Neo Heroes who are getting hurt coming down on them.

"Still, at the same time, I know the Neo Heroes are going to be plotting something against us. I just don't know what yet…"

"Well, at least it will keep things interesting around here… by the way. Those two snake ladies from Boros's ship… they were hitting on me earlier…"

Alley snickered. "Yeah, they tend to do that. I am really shocked they didn't go for Snek to be honest with you."

"He looks too much like the head tribe's mate." Bofoi explained. Suddenly, all eyes turned to him. "I have been observing the serpent people of Medusa, Snek's clone there has only one mate, and it's their queen. She refuses to share. Perhaps that is why they avoid him for he looks too much like the queen's male."

"That does explain a few things…" muttered Alley.

"Also, the females prize males who are able to use venom, it's a rare ability among their people. No doubt they are searching to see if any male here is able to use venom."

"Snek hid Pythan for a reason…" Yuki muttered. "Well, besides that, perhaps we ought to work on our other projects right? I heard that Amai and Snek are going to be switching for the last time soon…"

"Oh?" said Alley. "I didn't hear about this…"

"I over heard Prodigy speak with Snek, they were talking about the bands that my siblings and I use but he has improved them since. He is going to make Snek's for when they turn so he get the human DNA from him. He is also going to make bands for Amai as well…"

"Wait, why?" demanded Genus. "I heard Amai HATED being a snake!"

"That's changed a lot," Alley muttered. "He's gone from hating it to actually liking it… until he got pregnant" she said offhandedly.

Yuki smirked on the notion. "Either way, the sooner they change the sooner these bands can be made."

"We are going to be keeping a close eye on the Neo Heroes as well. Bofoi, I am going to entrust you for monitoring their movements, but more importantly, I want you to keep an eye on how much the Neo heroes change, if you notice new upgrades, implants, anything like that…"

"Yes, Miss Brawler" he said rather proudly. "All observations can be left to me. Permission to also make my own devices as well?"

She appeared rather stunned to the request, however nodded. "Of course, gather whatever supplies you may need Bofoi."

A smile came over the droid as he went on his way. "Genus…"

"Yes?"

"We are going to keep monitoring Bad just to be sure everything is as it should be, I have never transplanted someone's mind from one body to another before…" she said offhandedly. "Also, he maybe harder to gauge for the time being… he is obsessed with Pac's appearance right now…"

"Really?" Yuki snickered.

"If anything and I am willing to put money on it, he's looking to fatten Pac up so Zenko is more comfortable." She snickered. "Poor Pac, he's barely gotten through the first month of her pregnancy…"

The more Yuki thought about it, the more he began to feel sorry for his older brother!
