Chapter 23

Bad was released from Pac within a day.

He stretched himself out and yawned aloud to it all but he appeared rather content with himself. "Well…" Pac muttered, as he awaited to get Bad's opinion.

Bad paused and mauled over the notion. He stood up off the ground before circling around Pac, pushing his right side in oddly as Zenko slept on the left of his body. He did one more walk around before nodding his approval. "You were very comfortable. No doubt sis is very happy right now."

'Thank God,' Pac thought to himself.

"Now we are going to weigh you and make sure you keep that weight!"

'Oh God…' He thought, but gave into the notion. If not, Bad would be forcing him to stuff his face each and every day to make certain he was keeping up with his comfort level.

"How is she in there?" He asked offhandedly. "I mean, I can sense her emotions and all of that, but I don't quite sense how she feels…"

Bad shook his head. "I can't tell you that either man. All I know is that she nestled right into me. She said nothing, made no sudden movements, but she is happy where she is."

He took solace in that alone.

"Okay, I'll be sure to keep up with this… thanks…" he said.

Bad nodded. "Look, sorry I was a pain in the ass earlier about that…"

"No, I get it. I come from either a overly muscular tones or burly family… there's no in between apparently…"

Bad snickered. "And how!" he laughed. But sighed. "I can't wait to go back out there and fight again…" he said offhandedly.

"Why not go now? Sis would let you…"

He nicked the idea instantly. "I ain't going out there until Zenko is taken care of. She's going to have a baby man, I am not missing a single moment!"

He was confused to Bad's decree. "Uh, you do know she is only two months along, give or take… not to mention, you are not going to see much since she's in me."

Bad nodded but smirked. "Yet I know and feel it… I mean all I got to do is look at you, the more you grow, and the more I know sis is."

"Awkward…" Pac muttered oddly.

"Look man, I trust you to take care of sis, you know I do. But at the same time, with this shit going on with the Neo Heroes. I don't want to risk anything happening to her or to you. I want to be here to have your back,"

It took him by surprise. Pac didn't realize Bad was looking out for him as well! "Thanks…"

"Well, you are my brother in law now. And nothing is going to change that!" The two fell silent shortly after, until Bad appeared curious. "So… this house you want to make into the mountain… how's that going?"

Funny he should mention that, Alley started construction on it shortly after Bad's mind swap. She finished rebuilding the family home a few weeks ago, but his, he hasn't seen yet. "Well, I know she's working on it…"

"Let's go check the progress!"

"Now?"

"Why not?" Bad said with a grin. "You got a guest room, right? At least, making an in law suite… right?"

"Oh God," Pac muttered.

There was not choice but to take him to the construction site. The mountain has been carved into pretty good and the inside was falling into place. The robots Alley has were just putting in insolation, flooring and drywall. "Whoa… I got to get your sister's number on renos!"

"I think this is nearly done too…" Pac said aloud. "All that needs to go in is everything else and the furniture."

"Ooo your kitchen is gonna be HUGE!"

Bad began to wonder about, as he took in the house. He peered into various rooms before he found the spare rooms. "I dibs this one!" he called.

"So… you're moving in huh?" Pac asked with a defeated sigh. He should have known too, after all, Bad's been through hell and the Neo heroes are still going to be coming after him.

Fortunately though, the room he picked out was on the other side of the 'house' The master suite will be far from his room.

"There's plenty of space for Rover too, Tama can have full run of the house and a nice sunning window…" Bad said offhandedly.

"Yeah, I guess so…"

It was the first time Pac had really seen his own house come together. In fact he was starting to get nervous to it all. He is going to be leaving home and be on his own with Zenko… and apparently Bad as well. But, a part of him is excited to it all, he is going to be a father too!

"Hey Pac?"

"Huh?"

Bad looked to him rather seriously, he gave a nod of approval and said. "This place looks great, I can't wait for you and Z to move in and have your family."
