Who... Who are you?
AN: Heya! I'm back and I have quite a few ideas for this chapter and I'm sorry if this came out late... I was really busy! Now, let's continue this story!
Aoi's POV:
I woke up to a sensational pain to my head and instantly groaned as I tried to sit up to look at my surroundings. My eyes felt groggy, and plus, it felt like I wasn't properly sleeping, like I was only sleeping 2 hours a day. I groaned once again and looked at my surroundings, squinting to see my surroundings.
The room was... very white. I also recognized the aroma, it was a hospital-like room; I instantly recognized this room as I was and still am, an apprentice of the nurse, the school nurse. I faintly remember trying to carry my friend up to the nurse's office, that I was so immensely worried about her and that I wanted to help as well, and that is when I began my days as an apprentice.
I actually liked being an apprentice in a matter of fact, I got to help people, and it felt good!
As I turned my head, beside me was... I squinted at the shadowy figure. But my head was throbbing so much and the room was so luminous that I felt that I was floating in the air with a massive headache. I winced and cringed in pain as I kept staring at the figure next to me trying to identify the Pokemon. Was it the nurse? No. It couldn't be, she has a nurse hat on and I clearly can see that this figure has no hat on, no matter how bright the room is, or alas, my throbbing head.
I felt more shocking pain pierce through my brain and all I could see was the bright blinding light. I couldn't help but close my eyes. I went back into my slumber.
Loki's POV:
My eyes brighten as I see her move a bit, swaying her head to the side, and for a second I thought that she was looking at me. I was about to say something when she turned her head away from me, winced in pain once again, and fell back into her slumber.
I sigh and wait for Nurse Cassidy to come back. It was silent and I swear that I've been here for what feels like 6 hours, or even a whole day. I grit my teeth and sigh, hopping off my chair and landing solidly on the ground with all my 4 paws. I was about to go to the restroom when Nurse Cassidy came back.
"Oh, going so soon, yes?" She frowned.
Nurse Cassidy was a Sylveon, her fur was vibrant with pastel colours, ribbons that look like rainbows, and big blue baby doll eyes. Most of the guys in class would drool at her beauty, not me though. This Umbreon doesn't drool over girls like the other typical boys, in fact, I think it's stupid. What is love when we're only going to die and probably get cheated on or used anyways? What's the whole point?
Nurse Cassidy cleared her throat when I completely went silent, I then just realized that I was starting at a floor for... God knows how long. "So, you going or staying, yes?" She asked. I glanced at her and looked towards the Eevee that I saved.
Right, the Eevee.
Flashback...
I was running. As fast as possible. I couldn't let him catch me, I refuse to let him do so! I shook my head and sprinted out of the front garden, onto the pathway that led to school. Usually, I am cool and collected, chilling, walking my way to school, but no. Not today. He's crazy, and death waits for nobody.
I turned as my pathway was coming to an end, and continued to move swiftly through the Pokemon crowds, each person looking at me in a disgusting way. Like I was some hobo! I scowled at their reaction and continued to flee from him. I was halfway to school when I took a sharp turn and ran into an Eevee that was... contemplating in her thoughts. Except she looked like she was in pain.
"OH MY GOD" I screamed in rage, "WHY WERE YOU IN THE MIDDLE OF THE PATHWAY THAT'S- just stupid?.." I tilted my head, my voice getting lower and lower when I realised I knocked out that poor Eevee. I groaned. I couldn't just leave her here! I panicked and kept looking behind me, making sure he wasn't there.
I sighed in defeat and plopped her onto my back, giving her a Tepiggy back. I jogged to school, careful to not let the Eevee fall; but before that, I picked up her books that cell during the impact and put them in a folder with mine. I continued my way to school, still fearing that he would come up behind me and injure both me and this poor Eevee that I'm probably dragging into my problems.
I heard distant humming and jumped at the sound, the Eevee nearly falling off my back, I looked around free source of the humming and saw a familiar Sylveon. I squinted and I realised who it was.
"Nurse Cassidy!!" I cried, her turning towards me.
"Loki? Why are you?. Oh my!! yes!" She exclaimed looking at the unconscious Eevee on my back. "Let's get her to the Healing Room quickly, yes?"
I tilted my head in confusion. Her house was right there, Surely she would have medical supplies there, right?
"Can't we just go heal her in your house?" My eyes glimmered in hope, as her house would be safe from... HIM.
"Ah, you see all my medical stuff is in school, haha, yes!" She sheepishly said.
I frowned and nodded; then we were on our way to the school's healing room in a matter of seconds.
Flashback End...
"Hello? Are you dead, yes?" She singsonged.
"Uhm..." I opened my mouth wanting to say something but all that came out was: "Eevee... I-... stay!" I felt blood rush through to my cheeks in embarrassment to my stupid dumb actions. Why the hell am I acting like this? The nurse that stood before me giggles quietly.
"You may stay with her until she is better, yes!" She joyfully declared. "Is that not a problem, yes?"
I sweatdropped at her accent, it slowly getting annoying I gruffly responded with a "Not a problem." Walking out the door, signalling that I would be back. In the corner of my eye, I saw her nod and went back to tend to the Eevee, keeping her company probably.
I made my way through the endless hallways of the schools, glancing at the work pinned up on the "You deserve a gold star!" board. I instantly forgot that the nurse office was next to the Carter Family's dorm, although I did remember the nurse office being next to the teacher's lounge.
'I guess they moved it.' I thought, 'Not like it's a surprise, the Carter Family is always getting hurt, that even the School decided to move the nurse room!' I chuckled at this, and thus, reached the boys restroom. Or so I thought...
5 minutes later...
"GET OUTTTTTT!" A girl screeched, and a few seconds later Loki came flying out the bathroom. The girls bathroom. He landed with a thud and he stormed inside the BOYS bathroom this time.
10 minutes later...
Still muttering about the bathroom incident, Loki reached out for the door flap and pushed his way through. There, lying in the same place, was the Eevee he had saved from 20 minutes ago, although... She was conscious; the Nurse and the Eevee was smiling and joking with each other. 'Had they possibly met before?' he wondered.
He slowly and hesitantly walked up to the side of the bed. "I'm so glad you're oka-" He started and smiled, but stopped as he just now recognized the Eevee that he saved. 'Aoi!?' He thought silently. "It can't be..." He mumbled.
The Nurse frowned. "Are you ok, yes?"
I turned my head towards her direction and turned back my attention to Aoi that was in front of me in a matter of seconds. I looked at her fur, it was a glossy shiny coat, just like it always had been. Her eyes were a deep colour of hazel that was elegant, stunning and absolutely beautiful. Every feature of her was just the same as it always was, if not, even more gorgeous. She was the same Pokemon I had met, I doubt that she had changed. She was my childhood friend, only childhood friend in fact.
But one day she just ignored me, and we never talked ever again. I frowned at this memory, I highly don't think that she would remember me in this state either. She knew me as the timid Eevee I was, not this scary grumpy nearly all the time Umbreon! She tilted her head. A smile broke on my muzzle, might as well try! She could remember me and I'm just here worrying about stupid dumb things! No, I know she will remember me!
"Aoi! I'm glad you're ok!" I cheerfully said. She laughed nervously and shot a nervous glance to the Nurse. The sylveon shrugged and mouthed something I couldn't make out, and went outside the room.
"I'm sorry," She whispered. "So so sorry!" She fastened her eyes shut like she was refusing to look at me. I looked at her in complication.
"Sorry?" She nodded. "For what, if you don't mind me asking?" I looked at her with determination. 'Is she saying sorry for ignoring me after all these years?'
"I'm sorry that I have to say..." My ears perked in excitement, is our friendship going to start again!? Will we be inseparable like we used to? Is she saying sorry for ignoring me for 9 whole years? Thoughts on what she was going to say was flooding my brain. What was she going to sa-
At that moment, what she had said had stopped my thoughts, they all disappeared as she said these three words, 6, even.
"I'm sorry but, who are you?"
Her question ran through my head like a painful jolt of electricity piercing my heart, a gunshot going through my brain. Why am I feeling this pain? I slumped down onto my knees and tears started to appear in my eyes.
She gasped in shock. "Sir, are you alright?" Her voice had worry in it, she was clearly full of concern. I chuckled. I mean, who wouldn't? A "random stranger" that saved you just collapsed crying right in front of you. I shook my head vigorously.
Shut up Loki! Stop being a drama queen. That's Felicity's job for heaven's sake! I cleared my throat. "Sorry for that, I just remembered a sad memory," I sighed, reassuring her.
"Oh! I'm so sorry to hear that you went through something hard." She replied. We sat and stood in silence for a few minutes when she plopped up the question once again. "Back to my question though, who are you?"
I big ounce of pain and suffering was what I felt after I took in what she said. It was a big pain in my heart, and it was unbearable. "I just found you unconscious," I said. "I don't know who you are, just your name." I lied. She looked at me suspiciously. "Your name was on your papers."
She nodded at this. "Thank you in advance." She politely asserted. I nodded back towards her and she slowly got off the hospital bed. "And thank you for staying with me... uhm.." She glimpsed at me.
"Loki."
"Right, Loki!" She smiled. "I must be on my way now, I have some business to do in the school library." She walked towards the door. "I'll see you around, Loki." And with that, she walked out of the room and left me with my thoughts. The way she said my name even reminded me of our childhood selves, it took me 4 years to, at least stop talking about her but not fully forget her.
"She didn't even recognize my name..." I mumbled. Then heading out the room myself, as I had top-secret business to do myself.
While, in a land far far away...
"Master!" A squeaky voice cried out, she ran inside her master's royal chambers, she looked around, and she saw that his walls were a dark purple and his floor was blood red, as usual, fit for a king, but no king. She looked to her left and saw the king sitting down facing his vanity. She shivered as she felt a cold breeze rush down her spine, since the king was watching her with a cold glare in the mirror.
"Yes, Hitsaki?" A gruff voice responded, eyes still glued onto the mouse. She looked up at his majesty in excitement and determination, in hastiness and desperation.
"We found her!" She called out, smiling nervously at his back. His ears pricked up at this.
"What?" he turned around to face his small mouse Pokemon advisor and sneered at him.
"Our databases have found where the chosen one is." She joyfully squeaked, bowing down.
He smirked at this news, and faced back to his vanity, admiring himself in the mirror, like a big egotist he is. "Perfect, bring her to me."
The royal advisor nodded and quickly fled from his chambers, just relieved that he didn't get hurt by the buff king.
"I finally found you, my queen." He smirked. He started to laugh maliciously, and outside his window, was pidoves flying away from the King's intimidating laugh.
??? POV:
"Hmmm?" A Pokemon, in a thick black hood that was hiding her features, was watching the King's Castle from afar. She sprinted away at the sound of the king's malicious laugh and went back into her den, or, temporary hideout, since she has to move every so often. She shoved everything off the table and reached for the only thing she needed: Her walkie talkie.
Buzzes could be heard every now and then from the device when she started to speak into it. "Carl, you there? over." She spoke.
She paced back and forwards, telling Carl about what she heard about the King and his royal advisors conversation. Nearly even quoting everything exactly. "What? Who is 'her'!?" He growled into the transceiver.
She rolled her eyes at his response. "I don't know. How do you expect ME to know!?" She growled back. "I'm just the spy, I don't know who the hell the chosen one is, all we know is that she's in trouble!"
"We better find her, or else she going to die."
AN: And this concludes this chapter for today, I'm sorry if this was late but I will try fit in another chapter this week since it is Tuesday, but if not there will be another chapter next week!
