Note: I'm going to be referring to Shazam as Captain Marvel in this story, since in MK vs DC that was what the name he went by then and this is a sequel.

Mr. Terrific continued to click away at his computer, only this time he had some one else hovering over his shoulder. A green light glowed from behind him, reflecting off of the monitor and back onto his face.

"Well, where the hell are they?" Hal Jordan the Green Lantern asked over him frustrated.

"Should be Outworld" he replied as he calculated and recalibrated "But I can't get any reading on them. No communication either"

"But you're sure they're there? And not some other universe?" he fretted

"Positive" he answered in a monotone, serious voice.

Hal then looked up to Flash running even faster on his treadmill.

"Barry where the hell did you send them?!"

"Hey I just do the running!" he replied as he picked up speed even more though he was hardly breaking a sweat or out of breath "The computer takes them everywhere else!" he said before quickly adding "Sorry, not trying to shift blame Mike!" he shouted to Mister Terrific who continued to try and work a way through the problem.

"Damn" Hal gritted his teeth "This is why I wanted us all there" he growled "To finish what we all startled" he threw his hands up and dropped them. Disgruntled Hal turned back to the screen. Flashes of maps and outlines amidst calculations and numbers scrolled and appeared instantly only to be gone in a second. "Wait. Wait" he said putting a hand on Michaels shoulder "What's that" he asked pointing. The map of outworld was shrouded in purple. Mountains lakes, lava jungle and forest could all be seen. And in the place of all of this were two bright yellow dots. Two familiar figures who did not originate from this universe.

"Outworld" Mr. Terrific replied "That's one of them" he pointed up to one dot, seemingly encased in a fortress. It was Shao Kahn's last they saw of it. What would one of them be doing there. Infiltration? Maybe, but why would the other be so far away. Green Lantern got a bad feeling in his stomach.

"And that?" Green Lantern pointed to the other. The other dot was centered in a midst of green.

"A jungle"

"Why so far away..." Green lantern seemed to forget to finished the sentence. He had already assumed the worst.

"Maybe on the run" Mr. Terrific voiced his fear.

"They should be fine. No merging this time so their powers should be unaffected" Hal pointed out and rose back to his full height. Even his ring would be unaffected should he go, considering he had just recharged it "But that doesn't explain it" he said before a brief pause. He looked over the screen for a few more moments before he made the decision all his own. "I'm going too"

"What?!" Mr. Terrific turned to him. "You can't be serious?"

"I can't think of anything else to rectify this. I'll go alone if I have to"

"You won't have to" another voice declared along with him, though this one was cheery it was just as determined. Turning around they saw another hero touch down to the ground in golden boots. He approached them with an equally bright gold lightning bolt on his chest. Of course this wasn't the Flash who was already with them, but Earth's Mightiest Mortal; Captain Marvel. "Power fluctuations or not" he pointed "It's best you have someone to back you up there. If they managed to tear them apart" he pointed to the monitor and the two blips they recognized disconnected from each other "Only one more might not be enough" he put it back down.

"Wisdom of Solomon always pulls through" Green Lantern smiled

"You came to my rescue the last time we went there" Captain Marvel pointed out recalling a battle at Raiden's sky temple "It's only natural I finally return the favor". Green Lantern nodded to that. Both then turned back to the computer and the man who sat there.

"Outworld it is" Mr. Terrific turned back to the computer

"No!" Green Lantern reached out his hand "Earthrealhm. To Raiden's sky temple". Captain Marvel looked over to his curiously, so Green Lantern turned to answer him. "Think a rendezvous might be a good idea" he half shrugged "So we don't get stuck somewhere like they did and it'll be easier to move around if we get separated later" though he didn't like the idea of them being alone any longer he knew they could handle themselves "And with hopefully friendlier faces that can let us use their portal"

"Got some wisdom of your own now" Captain Marvel tapped his temple.

"Just thinking tactics" Green Lantern smirked.

Changing the destination it was Earthrealhm that now appeared on the monitor. A bit smaller than there; missing a few countries and cities, with some additions they didn't have here, but Earth none the less. Flash ran even more now and opened up another portal for them.

"Beam me up Barry!" Hal shouted into the wormhole as it overtook the platform before them.

"I hope you thought this out!" he shouted back.

"Only halfway!" he called before leaping in.

"So much for wisdom" Captain Marvel joked as he followed him.

Swirling and spirals engulfed him as he looked forward. And looking ahead he saw it open up into a void of darkness.

'A storm' Hal thought 'The sky temple nears'. No sooner had he though that had he been forced through the portal. It flashed behind him before dimming as he got his footing. And by the time it closed they had no way back. Of course there were other portals here, so that wouldn't be a problem. Just as he had planned.

Green Lantern landed on his feet, bending down to his knees before he stood back up. And his eyes went even higher as he observed his surroundings. He looked up to see the peak of the sky temple. But realized then and there that this wasn't it; they were too low to the ground and there were no storms or mountains to surround them. Puzzled he looked around to see where exactly he was.

It was nighttime. With dim flickering lamps over him. His green glow was the brightest thing there and the coloring of it seemed out of place with everything and not just because it was night. Fenced off in this location were containers, some empty some filled, battle ready cars and ammunition for each. But no people around. His judgment was that this was more of a wasteland or junkyard than encampment. Even though there were guard towers, search towers and a fortress around him.

"Nothing to be had here" he said aloud, before turning over "Let's get goin Cap-" he stopped short when he saw no sign of him. Turning over to the other side he didn't see him there either. And with how bright both of them looked here he no doubt would have seen him. "Cap!" he called out, but all he heard was his voice fade into the sky. "Great" he grunted kicking the dirt before sighing "Guess there's another one I gotta go save" he said before looking up to the sky and raising a fist "Better go-" he was about to take off into the sky before the blaring sound of an alarm erupted all around him.

He paused bringing a foot back to the ground. He looked around to see who or what was coming. He heard furious steps and flashes of people from above. He looked towards the fortress- if it could be called that- and the open doors that were there. He saw two people charging at him in the light, before the disappeared in the blank dark spaces between the light. But then they erupted from the door and they looked read for a fight as they skidded to a halt and faced off against him.

One of them was a young dark skinned women in a tank top and cargo pants both in blue. She had thick gauntlets around her wrists and her face was scrunched up and determined.

"Alright hold it right there, Nightlight" a cocky voice let out next to her. Hal turned his head towards her. Another woman who looked to be the same age with cropped blonde hair and a skin tight suit, who eyed him just as suspiciously. This one looked... familiar to him.

"Sonya?" he let out surprised. Her determination was replaced with confusion and the girl recoiled when he said that, startled that he would. But he looked down to see her dog tags to see that it bore a different name. 'Cage' was written on them. "Cage?" he let out initially confused, but looked to the other woman's tags around her neck "Briggs?!" he exclaimed in greater surprise "What the hell?"

"Hm?" Cage responded "How do you know-"

"We fought before" he answered abruptly. Probably the wrong words to choose, truth or otherwise.

"Wrong words Nightlight" she responded snidely, a smirk coming back to her face. She said as she pulled out two pistols from her hips. The other girl mimicked her though with a machine gun. "Come here to settle the score?"

"Not this time" he shook his head, not deterred by the weapons pointed at him. For he had the greatest one in the universe. And it glowed on his finger now.

"Well let's take you to the general and we'll go from there" Briggs spoke up

"Take me to the portal first" he demanded

"Not the one to take orders are you?" the blonde one answered.

"Kinda like you Cassie" the other joked beside her.

"Shut up Jacqui" Cassie said sarcastically.

"Think you should fight amongst yourselves and sort that out instead of coming at me" Green Lantern responded snidely.

"We would, but we have a strict policy about weirdos who drop in through the sky" Cassie the Sonya look alike said.

Try as he might he couldn't help, but rise to the challenge as he raised his fist up and the jade gleamed off his white glove "Green Lanterns always read for a fight"

The two brought up their hands up with heavy duty weapons in both of them and they were pointed down at Green Lantern.

"Last chance" they said, but he gave no answer.

Hal quickly shot his fist up before his chest as his ring glower even brighter. It seemed like hardly an ideal defense, but he would wait for them to move first.

Instantly and all at once bullets began to be fired at him from across the kamp. But as soon as they came a glowing green brick wall appeared before Hal. Large and wide enough to cover his entire body.

The bullets were deflected or bounced off, no matter how many there were they were easily tossed aside. Confidently Hal began to walk forward under cover from his construction. Visible looks of concern overcame the two the closer he got.

They got even more so when they heard another sound.

Click.

"Shit!" Cassie exclaimed as they ran out of bullets. Jacqui reacted first, violently tossing her guns aside and charged Green lantern with her left fist hurled back. He could see the two wide gauntlets on both. She swung her arm forward to break that brick wall open and possibly his head too. But the only thing that happened when she hit it was that she was repelled off of the wall just as easily as the bullets, but much more forcefully and landed onto her back on the ground. Green Lantern let the wall disappear as he put his hands down as Jacqui got back up and stood beside Cassie. The two glanced at each other and nodded. Both in agreement on the plan.

The two charged him together now; Cassie from the left Jacqui from the right. Jacqui swung up with a kick right before Cassie did. Hal brought his right arm up forward to deflect hers and then brought the same one back to do the same to Cassie. Jacqui then swung at his head with a punch that he ducked under right as the gauntlet unleashed a blast that echoed above him, but did not deter him. He shot back up as Cassie swung for his head which he blocked with his arm. Jacqui swung at him again and he brought his other arm into the fight and stopped her assault as well. He then shot his leg out to kick Jacqui away before snapping it back to Cassie hitting her in the gut as she bent over from it. His arms free his ring flew as all of a sudden two green boxing gloves materialized and hit the two of them back further away from each other and onto the ground.

Jacqui got up quicker and ran at him. Turning fully to her he shot out his fist and his ring glowed again. Then out of nowhere a giant green hand appeared before him and engulfed her. It was tall and wide enough to cover her completely and it's fingers engulfed her holding her in place.

She struggled and cursed, but could not get out. Not until he swung his arm down and slammed her onto the ground. She rebounded up into the air right as he saw out of the corner of his eyes he saw Cassie sprinting at him. He turned to face her, but kept his arm reared back.

Another hand manifested itself to catch Jacqui mid air. And when he swung his arm forward the hand followed the trail he made passing over his body before it let go and unleashed Jacqui who collided with Cassie and they both tumbled to the ground on top of each other.

He eyed them as they tumbled across the ground. Suddenly something came whizzing over his shoulder. Alert again he turned to see someone starring him down from a bowstring.

"Kung Jin that could've hit us!" Cassie shouted from the floor behind Green Lantern

"Two can't take on one?" he mocked behind his bow "Guess skill skips a generation in the Special Forces" he smirked.

"And who trained you to attack someone from behind?" Green Lantern asked turning to face him now that he earned his full attention.

"Practicality and the White Lotus" Kung Jin answered confidently, but when Green Lantern grew a smirk of his own when hearing that, he got angry "Something about that amusing?" he asked venomously.

"Fighting the Special Forces and the Shao Lin again?" Lantern mused aloud before he rolled his head and shoulders down and then brought them back up "I guess some things never do change". Jin said nothing in retort, but he did have one already drawn.

Jin shot an arrow at him. But Lantern made his own that shot out and collided with it only his kept going after splitting Jin's in two. Kung Jin was forced to dodge it as Green Lantern remained in place.

Kung Jin shot back up and released another arrow before quickly followed it up with another, but Lantern did the same thing and Kung Jin was forced to stop and roll down under it to get closer. He sprung up gripping his string back and Green Lantern had yet to move.

He shot up and began firing multiple arrows at him, but he deflected each one. Nearly exhausted of them and showing anger at it he thought of a different approach.

He then charged him with his bow and swung it at him. Green Lantern blocked it pivoting to the side as Kung Jin was at him again, the head of the bow seemed to be emitting fire. Green Lantern moved back as he then brought it up and swung it down like a hammer. Green Lantern brought a hand up to deflect it, grabbing ahold of the top of it which was molded into the likeness of a great dragon baring it's teeth. With it in his grip Green Lantern pushed back on it and Kun Jin stumbled back as Green Lantern then brought his fist forward and blasted Jin across the kamp.

"Green arrow you ain't" he joked as Jin came tumbling to halt. Kung Jin shook his head and looked down past his body to see Green Lantern. From the few moments he had fought him to now as he looked him over a epiphany came over his as his eyes traced down his arm and to his hand.

"Get the ring!" he shouted before he quickly jumped to his feet. Jacqui and Cassie shot up to Green Lantern who for the first time seemed alarmed by his foes.

But he couldn't let them know

"Way to catch on!" he shouted. Then all at once Cassie and Jacqui got up to charge him from behind and Kung Jin reached out for his bow. "Good luck trying!" he reared his fist.

He shot out a giant buzz saw which they ducked or jumped over.

Jin shot a arrow that Lantern swerved around and turned towards Cassie and Jacqui.

"Give em what they want!" He shouted as he turned towards them ready to throw his glowing fist at them

"STOP!" a harrowing voice called out.

All at once the battle grinded to a sudden halt. They froze in place entangled against each other and every one on the offensive. But they wouldn't be now. All heads turned to their left to see a group of people coming towards them; two men with a woman in front of them leading the procession.

One of them was bearded and in red with a bandana over his eyes and a sword over his shoulder. The other had brown hair and a cocky grin- not unlike himself thought he wore a vest and a deep V neck. Shades covered his eyes but he removed them to get a better look.

"What's with the human lava lamp?" He joked, no doubt at Green Lantern. For his part he didn't recognize the two men at all. But it was the one between them, their leader who interested him.

She looked over him strangely, almost as if she saw a ghost. No different than he looked at her now.

"What the hell?" She let out quietly in surprise.

"Sonya?" Lantern let out surprised just as he had before. Everyone else now looked between at the two strangely. Sonya moved to go forward, away from the other two and when the man in the sunglasses tried to say something to her she raised a hand up to silence him coldly before he could even begin. She kept her eyes on Green Lantern who floated over to her, levitating over the ground to cross the distance as he left the three astonished and frustrated youths behind.

"He can fly?" Cassie whispered to Jacqui who shrugged cluelessly.

Green Lantern landed before Sonya as she approached him. They stopped before each other; Sonya giving a curious gaze while Green Lantern seemed more relieved. But she was the first one who spoke.

"How is this happening? What are you doing here?" she demanded. An unusually surprised lightness in her voice.

"My friends. Superman, Wonder Woman and now Captain marvel. They've gone missing" he spoke gravely

"Another merging?" she concluded in a question

"No, it's different" he said shaking her initial fears "We came here on our own, without disrupting the balance"

"So that means-"

"As strong as ever" he flexed with his ring. As the two discussed the events that brought them together now they were soon joined by another; one who couldn't sit still like the others as all of this went on. The man from before sauntered over and slowly put himself between the two.

"Uh if I can cut in-"

"Shut up. We're talking" Lantern snapped at him. He clearly didn't like that as he focused solely on him now and he didn't look like he was going to ask nicely like before.

"Now yo-"

"Shut up. We're talking" Sonya repeated and followed it by pushing him away so he got the message. The two continued talking as the man looked over to Cassie who dropped her eyes at the spectacle. "So what are we going to do about this?" she asked to Green Lantern

"Lend a helping hand?" he shrugged. She seemed to mull on the idea, as she looked him over recalling the last time they had fought each other. She won the first time, he the second.

"We were even last I checked" she answered, seemingly randomly "When this is all over, we need to find out for real whose better"

"Whatever the lady wants" he answered with a grin, not backing down from this challenge either. Sonya smirked and then brought her wrist to her hand.

"General Blade" she said into the communicator "Get the portal geared up. I'll meet you out there shortly" she said with an iron voice before dropping her wrist and turning back to Green Lantern.

"It's general now" he stated as she looked him over with some disapproval. "Well then reporting for duty" he gave a salute which she returned and smiled as warmly as she could. She dropped it followed by him.

"Come on" she said as she put a hand up to his shoulder and was ready to lead him along "Let's go find your friends" she said as they were prepared to walk off. But Green Lantern paused as he looked over her face "What is it?" She asked concerned. What else was wrong?

"You've gotten old" he answered.

Everyone else winced and grinned as she rocked him in the face.

"Looks like that one hurt him" Jacqui said leaning over to Cassie.

He was atop a hill surrounded by thick mountains. And yet these were not the ones he was hoping to find when he got here. There were no storms clouds so he already knew he was in the wrong place. The fact that the sun overlooked it reinforced his mindset.

He looked around and could see that he stood in the shadow of three imposing monuments. Turning around he looked around as he was dwarfed by a great, bronze temple. The sun was blocked out further by a dome's top and three spiraling pillars.

"The Himalayas" Captain Marvel deduced. As quickly as he did that, he also quickly noted that Green Lantern as not with him. But he would not be alone for long. He heard him before he appeared, coming from behind. One lingered behind while the other came forward. Captain Marvel turned around to see the figure approach him slow to a stop. A mask was draped over his face blocking out everything from the eyes down, before he dropped it to reveal his face.

"Who are you? How did you get here?" He began, seemingly starting off with an interrogation, but his voice youthful. He was armored head to toe with only his face to be seen. His hair was black and around his forehead was a yellow bandana with an emblem of black and centered in it a gold scorpion.

"Hmm. I have seen this before" Captain Marvel said aloud. He then brought up a finger to point "You are Shirai Ryu"

"I am" he answered proudly "This is our temple. And only those who are among us are allowed here"

"I thought them destroyed" Captain Marvel mused "I had defeated one long ago. His name was Scorpion"

"My master!" he shouted out before he guarded himself "Then for him, I will avenge!" he declared

"I do not want to fight" he put his hands up before him warily "But be warned, you stand no chance against Earths Mightiest Mortal"

"You will leave this place, or I will make you!" he demanded of the hero

"Then perhaps things do not change much at all" Captain Marvel admitted dismally. Perhaps Superman was wrong in his proposition.

The Shirai Ryu ninja said no more as he swung his arms forward though clearly he had no way of hitting him from so far away. That was until from both wrists and extending out to him were to long whips with blades on them.

Blading his own body to the side Captain Marvel watched as they past in front of his face. He then reached out a hand to grab a hold of it and stopped it in mid air. He then turned his head towards his shocked assailant.

"You should've said 'Get over here'" he grinned as he tightened his grip "Guess I'll have to now" he said before tugging on the whip so hard to hard he was flung off his feet and brought all the way towards Captain Marvel's. He landed hard on the ground and was kept in place when the hero placed a boot on there to keep him down "That's enough out of you" he pointed down to him "I want no more trouble"

"Takeda!" a voice shouted. Right as the boy looked up to Captain Marvel.

"Oh you're about to get some" he grinned. Looking up Captain Marvel saw as a golden clad warrior appeared before him, first appearing as a ball of fire before it dwindled and spread into a mans form draped in similar yellow robes. He face was shielded by a mask, but he recognized him all too well.

"Scorpion!" Captain Marvel exclaimed. The ninja before him faltered and the distinctly human eyes reflected as they watched him. They were hard upon first appearing, but they softened suddenly.

"He is no more" he answered shamefully behind the mask before he brought a hand up to remove it and dropped his hood revealing a black beard and hair. "I am Hanzo Hasashi"

It was now Captain Marvel who regarded him now "I see.." he paused "Then maybe things have changed here for the better" he smiled realizing he had been wrong before. "Guess that's you're secret identity" He then looked down to Takeda, before he got down on one knee and with a bright gleaming smile offered his hand.

Takeda looked up to him cautiously. Looking back over his shoulder he saw his master give an approving nod before he looked back to the outstretched hand and took it. Effortlessly Captain Marvel hoisted him to his feet as they were joined by his master.

"Captain Marvel…" he said as he approached, looking the hero over in disbelief "Never again would I think to see your kind here"

"It's not here I expected to be" he said before looking around "But this beats the Netherrealhm no doubt"

Hanzo raised a brow at him "Where then?"

At that moment before Captain Marvel could answer, Takeda could inquire what was going on or Hanzo to find out himself a crack and fizzle erupted just a few paces beside them. A shroud of blue touched down onto the temple stones. Takeda brought his arm up again to block his eyes while Hanzo and Captain Marvel looked on.

The blue wave continued to crack and fizzle. Jolts of it spreading out further from it's core, before it dissipated entirely from them and began to take another familiar shape. A man's figure with his outstretched hands seemingly summoning the lighting though there was no storm. Who it was hidden beneath the wide rimmed straw hat atop his head, but they all knew who it was.

That was all confirmed when he raised his head to see the three before him.

"Raiden!" Captain Marvel shouted "Green Lantern said we should find you" he said happily "Did he send you?" he asked. But the look on Raiden's face was all the answer he needed.

The Watchtower

Three figures stood over the monitor. One sat in the chair as he had the entire time. The other two stood over him. It seemed he wasn't getting away from that any time soon. One was bright and cheery and had been here since the beginning. The other dark and oppressive and arrived on the wave of bad tidings. And both were the two greatest detectives in the world.

"Nothing from Hal or Billy either?" Batman asked, his cape draped around him so that he was just a shroud of darkness, save his white eyes and pale chin.

"Nothing" Mr. Terrific said as he analyzed more and more. The coordinates are all set.

Batman then arched his head to look at Flash "You maintained a link with Lui Kang correct?". Flash looked him over curiously, as if he hadn't been expecting that question. But he did have an answer and nodded to Batman. "What is he saying?". Flash was for once, slow. Slow in his answer to his fellow founding member. Because while he and Lui Kang shared a psychic bond that was beneficial; he helped him thwart Quan chi after all. Now things were... different, strange. Even frightening. All because of what Lui Kang was telling him. After he had already sent four friends to the other side.

"Raiden..." he heard Lui Kang's voice whisper eerily and distorted "..killed us all"
