The hallways seemed just as dim as outside. But it brightened whenever he walked by. The green emitted off his body reflected off the cold metal walls, floors and ceilings. The lights overhead didn't do much to light his way and neither did the computer as he stood before it. Sonya sat at the chair next to him dutifully typing away.

"Hm" Green Lantern let out over her shoulder " I went from staring over one persons back at a computer to another" he said humorously.

"Don't beat yourself up for it" she said blandly clicking away. She was hoping to get to do that herself later. Green Lantern looked over to the portal.

"Maybe I should take some of this back" he said turning his head back down to her "so we can start to get it right"

She paused from the computer to look up to him slyly "Might cost you what you don't have"

"Forgot my wallet back at home" he smirked uncrossing his arms

"Well, then you'll just have to fight for it" she grinned.

"Between you and me" he raised his right hand in a closed fist save for the index and middle finger which he extended out and motioned between them "I think we've had enough fighting for a few lifetimes" As he spoke she rotated the chair around to face him fully. She leaned back into her chair, propping her feet onto the keyboard. A small little smile on her face, as she grew just a bit more relaxed and comfortable as they spoke. She was only allowing herself some leisure time. After all out of everyone here now, who else knew him but her?

The two continued on from there, keeping the conversation between themselves. He would speak, she would nod and vice versa. He'd motion with his hands and she would spare a small bemused laugh or gesture or a nod to know she was attentive. The conversation was watched with great interest by everyone else even as they tried to continue on with their duties. But to a small group that was stationary across the room they got to watch the entire thing unfold from the begining.

From across the room, sitting at a table Cassie sat across from Jin as Jacqui stood over them both. Jin was leaning back into his chair with his hands on the back of his head looking out of the corner of his eye. Cassie was eyeing them strangely, her face scrunched up as she was leaning onto the table; Jacqui stood between them, the same look on her face as she watched Green Lantern talk with General Blade. It was silent as they scrutinized what they didn't understand, to try and decipher it all. Naturally it was Jin who thought he had the answer first.

"You sure that's not you're long lost dad?" Jin joked though no one beside him found it funny. Which clearly made it more so to him.

"Shut up!" Cassie snapped turning to him, though Jin's wry grin was now cemented on his face.

"I mean, come on. There is a resemblance" he insisted raising his hands from behind his head "From the look to the attitude. Even the same green glow" he grinned slyly

"Jin-" Cassie grinded her teeth.

"Hey your mom's got a type. Will all do" he threw his hands up in mock defense at his snide comments.

"Why? You saying you both have the same type?" Jacqui interjected and Jin quickly recoiled going silent in his seat. Cassie looked up to her friend who looked back down with a reassuring smile. Her eyes then dropped followed by her head before they rolled over back to her mom and Green Lantern across the room.

He was currently laughing and she was trying to suppress a kind of chuckle even as she shook her head at him. Cassie's eyes then went to the door as her father walked through it and her eyes dropped again.

"So..." Green Lantern sighed

"..So" Sonya finished the same way

"Kids huh?"

"Kid" she corrected him sharply.

"Thought it was you when I first saw her"

"Hm" she huffed

"Where's daddy?"

"He's always around" she rolled her head lazily as Johnny entered the room, their eyes connecting briefly before she turned back to Green Lantern.

"Work and play huh?" he joked

"Just work now" she replied seriously making his smile drop. He quickly got the hint but still felt he needed to voice it.

"Divorce?" he asked. She nodded in an unflattering kind of acceptance. "Sorry, I know it's hard" he said with grief and melancholy in his voice.

"Been there?"

"Not me" he shook his head and put his hands to his hips "But I've seen the aftereffects of it" he said morbidly.

"Well, it's never pretty" she said wryly as if over it already.

"I would've taken whatever you had over what I saw". She brought her head up just a bit more in a sort of half nod. "Where's Jax?" he asked trying to keep the conversation going and hopefully to a brighter spot.

"Retired" she reached for a mug and sipped from it.

"Retired?" he repeated almost shocked "Probably was weird to take orders from you" she cracked a half smile "What's he doing?"

"He's got a farm, a field and tractor" he listed thing off, as if they were items on a check list.

"A daughter" Green Lantern quickly interjected and she nodded. Green Lantern laughed "Farm huh? He aught to meets Superman again. He'd love to hear that" he paused and rolled his shoulders back and let out a sigh "So he's got the good life"

"Wasn't so good after what we went through"

"Hm?"

"Just that" she answered simply, putting it back down. She looked up to him and he down to her. There was a cold distance she'd been keeping from him throughout this, despite her continuation of the conversation. But it seemed to Green Lantern that there were more nerves to tug at on her end than his.

"He get hurt?" he asked quietly.

"He went under..." she told gravely with a long pause that held it "then he came back up"

"Death and resurrection ain't anything new to us" he put a hand to his chest "Any of us"

"Doesn't make it any easier"

"No.. it doesn't" he agreed as he leaned back to match hers. He paused "I guess there's a black ring out there with his name on it then" he said and she raised an eyebrow to him. But before he could explain some one else came to join the conversation.

"Well lookie here" a voice let out and they turned to see Johnny Cage approaching them "You look like two old college buddies who bumped into each other at the supermarket" he said with a genial smile.

Sonya instinctively put her feet down onto the floor and turned away from him the moment he stopped and went back to furiously typing away at the computer.

Johnny merely rolled his shoulders and then turned his head left to Green Lantern. He seemed saddened by his cold reception, but he turned towards him with a more pleasant smile and welcoming demeanor.

"Don't think we've been introduced properly" he offered his hand. Green Lantern looked down and then shook it "Johnny Cage"

"Heard a bit about you already" he said as they released each other "Green Lantern"

"You're a color?" he asked jokingly "Not the weirdest thing I've seen" he paused "You two seem to have a lot of history between you. You an honorary recruit back in the day?"

"A trial by fire I guess"

"Can't say I remember that" he shrugged

"Probably why you introduced yourself now" Green Lantern joked back "But it's better than the other way I guess" Hal said before glancing over at the three youths.

"They still gotta learn some hospitality. Till then they'll be stuck at the kid's table" Johnny added before they turned back to each other. "So you get billed for all this or what?" he pointed over his attire and the light emitted off of it "Or you pushing a green's the way to go thing?" he joked.

Green Lantern retorted to Johnny as Sonya peered over her shoulder to see the two talk aback and forth.

'Dear god it's almost like a mirror' she thought.

"Superhero huh?" Johnny said.

"Space cop" Green Lantern shrugged "Same difference"

"Now that would make a great movie"

"Use my likeness and I want front row seats and royalties"

"Well talk to my agent abo-"

All of a sudden the lights began to flicker, or at least they thought they did. Everyone looked up and around in alarm as the room would turn blinding one second, dim and dark and then back to bright. A blue and white mix of light flashed and their shadows were plastered on the wall before disappearing and then appearing again, being more distorted by more of the arms being raised and the heads moving around.

The light was all encompassing, but it originated in one singular spot in the center of the room and their attention was drawn to it. Sounds of sparks and electricity whirling could be heard. Cracks and fizzes accompanied it as it began to take shape. Four round circles; three placed behind one which began to twist into a pointed edge. More trickled down to take the shape of arms and legs; indistinguishable apart from size, but within another flash color came to them and faces as well. The light show began to diminish as the four figures became more recognizable.

Out of the sparks were four figures; one stood before them all his hand raised high in the air the outer reach of it still emitting sparks. He lowered his arm to his side and the light diminished. The other three stood behind him, following their guide.

"Raiden!" Sonya let out and she hopped out of her seat to go to him.

"Master Hasashi!" Cassie exclaimed when she saw him standing with him.

Green Lantern followed Sonya, but they were not the only ones. Everyone around the room took notice and began to crowd the newcomers for it was not just Raiden, but Scorpion and Takeda as well as a larger fourth man in red tights a white cape and golden lightning bolt on his chest. Safe to say that amongst the three familiar faces was one that to many in the room seemed out of place.

Of course he was instantly recognized by the other stranger.

"Cap!" Green Lantern exclaimed with open arms.

"Lantern!" he responded with a strangely youthful joy, one that made the other four in the room look sullen by comparison; which at this point they were. He moved up to be come shoulder to shoulder with Raiden as he reunited with his fellow hero. Captain Marvel then turned his head to his left.

"You remember Raiden". The God bowed his head slightly as he and Green Lantern acknowledged each other. He then turned towards the man across his other shoulder "And then there's him. Remember?" he said pointing to Hanzo, but try as he might Green Lantern couldn't place the face. Mostly because last time he didn't have one. "He's Scorpion- or at least he was" Captain Marvel explained "Turns out he was resurrected. He's a good guy now" he said with an arm around Hanzo "And his names Hanzo Hasashi. Scorpion was an alias"

"Doesn't sound too familiar" he said with a wry smile.

"Let us stay on the matter at hand" Hanzo said seriously. Sonya, Green Lantern, Raiden, Captain Marvel and Scorpion all stood together. There were more introductions and explanations going around between all of them as their group of five huddled closer together cutting off everyone else. But they were not the only ones reunited.

"Takeda" Jacqui added taking notice of how he had arrived with the other three but was quickly let out. She and Cassie moved to go to him. Jin surprisingly silent rose himself out of his slump to go join them.

Yes it was Raiden who stood before the other three, but he didn't seem to have anything to say to them now. Kenshi naturally was the first there to greet his son. Hanzo remained silent. But the fourth, this Captain Marvel carried on with Green Lantern, Raiden and Sonya together. Even Hazno remained to be apart of the group as they seemed to phase out all the others.

Even Takeda standing close by with his father felt left out, but when he saw the rest of his team approaching he soon went to join them. And no sooner had they been reunited had they tried to wrap their heads around this.

The four of them huddled around each other forming their own group as it was. Each one looked curiously over at the two newcomers.

"So.." Jacqui started as they starred at both Green Lantern and Captain Marvel standing among their mentors and superiors in a surprisingly friendly yet foreign way "you found one too?" Takeda nodded "What happened?"

"He appeared out of nowhere at the temple" he explained after turning back to them "Said he had fought my master a long time ago"

"Same thing from that one" Cassie nodded off in Green Lanterns direction "Said he fought my mom, Jacqui's dad and the White Lotus"

"Fought all of us just for a throwback" Jin said snidely.

"Talked about it like it was yesterday, but it was much longer than that" Jacqui added

"He fought all three of you?" Takeda exclaimed, almost letting every one else on to their conversation "Did you win?" The three exchanged embarrassed embittered faces which gave him his answer. "Wow" he said awe struck "He must be strong" he concluded

"How bout him?" Jin nodded off to Captain Marvel "You come to blows too?"

"Eehh" he winced "Sort of, almost" he gave half an answer. Which lead them to believe he fared no better "My master appeared ending the conflict. He mistook him for Scorpion"

"Hard to mistake him when it's still him" Jin commented.

"And did they fight?" Jacqui asked

"Does it look like they fought?" Jin said as Cap and Green Lantern seemed to be 'palling' around with Soyna, Hanzo and Raiden.

"So.. they're on our side?" she let out confused.

"My master said it was complicated" Takeda answered her "But Raiden said they are friends"

"Well, regardless they seem to making themselves right at home" Cassie said as the four pairs of eyes looked over to see the two newcomers doing just as they said.

"And there's supposed to be more of them?" Jin asked, a hint of worry and superstition in his voice "That's what they came here for right?"

Green Lantern stood before Captain Marvel, Sonya to his left side, Raiden on his right. Captain Marvel stood across from with Hanzo on his right and Raiden on his left, completing the circle they made. Each one interjected with questions, answers and gestures. The four on the other side of the room continued to observe them.

"They look like all the cool kids in high school" Jin said

"Guess that makes you a big loser" Cassie said before looking over Captain Marvel "He looks like a happy meal"

"A happy meal and a night light. Tsh" Jin scoffed.

"How did you manage to find me so easily?" Captain Marvel asked as he turned to Raiden.

"I felt strange foreign energy" Raiden explained as he lightly crossed his arms, his palms touching his forearms "Not unlike the last ones I felt when we met, yet smaller and more condensed. It was more akin to when I sense a presence from a foreign realm enter" he explained before dropping his arms to his sides.

"Well, at least that sorted itself out" Green lantern said with open arms and a shrug as he looked to everyone, specifically the familiar faces. He then turned solely to Raiden. "Did you manage to find Superman or Wonder Woman?".

"Hm?" Raiden's face scrunched up in puzzlement as he raised an eyebrow.

"I guess not" he sighed and dropped his arms.

"If they are out there I will find them" the God of thunder insisted.

"Well they might be a tad out of your reach" Green Lantern said "But with the portal" he motioned over to it "We should be able to find them"

"At least you're asking this time" Sonya said slyly.

"We should not delay in our aid" Hanzo spoke up "You're friends may not have found themselves in quite as pleasant circumstances"

All nodded, but it was Raiden who voice it "I agree" he said before dropping his hands and faced everyone again "I shall re-" he stopped short.

There was a flicker now, not unlike before when Raiden made his entrance with the others. This one however was not as bright or flashy, but just as attention grabbing. It wasn't as loud, but seemed to isolated to one part of the room. This one came from the monitor and screen behind them that took up the entire wall.

It flickered at first, the sound of static accompanied the sight of black and white pixels. Everyone turned to look at it and it was Johnny, isolated from everyone else who checked the transmission and read it aloud.

"From the Lin Kuei" he announced as everyone turned to him. They then looked up as the image became clearer and standing before them was Sub-zero; his face revealed, but still hidden behind his beard. His blank eyes blinked as if reveling in thought and he was completely surrounded and incased by shadow. The monitor showed little of the Lin Kuei temple, just as he would like it. Sonya stepped forward to speak, Green Lantern and Johnny were behind her on both sides.

"Grandmaster Sub-zero" Sonya said as he remained calm "What is it?" His eyes seemed to roll over her right shoulder to where Green Lantern was and then he spoke plainly. There was nothing, but darkness all around him.

"I had thought to contact you of recent developments. A possible incursion" he paused "But I see you have already been made aware" he said as behind her as Captain Marvel approached.

"These guys?" Sonya turned over her shoulder to look at the two of them, her voice displaying a dry sense of humor not usually seen from her, especially in front of her daughter. Already somewhat distressed and confused by what's going on. "It's nothing like last time" she turned back to him "It's-"

"I know" he cut her off calmly "I have already been made aware of the situation" he stated. In that moment the shadow behind him moved and swayed and two bright white eyes opened behind him, hidden under a horned figure. Everyone on the room peered forward for a better look.

"Is that..." Soyna mumbled through squinted eyes

"No way!" Captain Marvel exclaimed. In the back Cassie, Jacqui, Takeda and Jin tried to get a better look, but no matter ho hard they tried they couldn't make it out. But they would see soon enough. Right after Captain Marvel's outburst Raiden raised his arm to the air and disappeared in a flash of lightning. In the blink of an eye the flash returned and him with it, but once again he was not alone.

On his left was Grandmaster Sub-zero whom all recognized. The other did not have that that privilege because his figure was hidden behind a ink black cape and cowl, only the presence of his jaw could be seen which sat under two beady white eyes, which themselves sat under two pronged horns. His jaw was rigid like his posture, his eyes serious and unforgiving. He looked as if he had been etched from stone. Everyone looked at the newcomers in awe.

"Oh great another one" Cassie groaned aloud to her team. "What is that supposed to be?" she eyes the dark figure from his cowl and horns "Some kind of Batman?" she joked at their appearance again.

"Batman!" Captain Marvel exclaimed as he and Green Lantern approached.

Cassie was left with her team, gaping in shock "Wow I'm getting good at this" she said bemused by it all as the two colorful heroes rejoined with the third less colorful one. Soon enough that clique that formed before had two new members in Sub-zero and Batman. Green Lantern and Captain Marvel went on to pester and prod Batman as to how and why he came here, only for him to inform them of everyone's sporadic placement in all this; his answers as stern and uninviting as his posture. Superman and Wonder Woman were MIA; in Outworld like they intended, but apart no different than they were. Though it seemed they had no way of getting into contact or reuniting as the three of them had. And on top of that Flash's location was now unknown.

"If they are in Outworld, then they may be in grave danger" Raiden warned forebodingly.

"It's strange.." Batman mused aloud "Our worlds occupy the same time and space" he paused to look at all the old faces "yet here we are 25 years in your future.." he dropped his head slightly. Raiden reached out a hand to his shoulder.

"We shall worry of this later" he advised before turning back to the others "For now we must locate the Flash"

"Right" Captain Marvel nodded "He has to be on Earthreahlm"

"From the Sky temple I should be able to meditate and discover the energy signature I used to find you" Raiden motioned to Cap "But we must also be aware of Ou-"

A fizzing sound was heard as everyone turned towards the monitor again. It fizzled, cracked and creaked as static came through.

"What is? it" Sonya stepped forward

"I broke the connection before we returned" Sub-zero stated "This is not from the temple". Whatever it was the connection must have been bad, as it was having a harder time getting through to them. Everyone eyed it curiously, the faint image of a person seemed to come through before behind distorted and turning to black and white again. The droning continued until all at once the computer went black and then silent.

Everyone kept their eyes on it waiting for something or someone to appear, but it never happened. Sonya moved to touch the keyboard, but something stopped her.

"Is that you love?" a charismatic voice underpinned by malice suddenly asked through the static, but it only managed to harden Sonya's scowl. Even Johnny became enraged by it. When it cleared they finally got a view of who was talking and it was one they didn't like. "Ah" Kano let out "There she is" he grinned down from the screen.

"What are you doing Kano?" Sonya stepped forward "How did you-"

"You're all about savin' the world aitcha?" he cut her off before a chuckle "Well as you know from time to time so am I" he said smugly. Sonya raised an eyebrow, but Kano said no more. Show and tell was over and this was very much the 'show' part of it. Kano sidestepped away from the camera to reveal tied to his chain link fence a man in red tights with a golden lightning bolt on his chest. "Remember this one?" he asked pointing at him with his thumb. His mask was dangling off his head revealing a head of golden hair. Though mixed on that as well as his bare face was red blood that otherwise got lost in his suit. "Seems there's even bigger problems we got now" Kano said positioning himself back and center to the camera "Whadda say love? One more go around for old times sake. You an' me savin the world against these freaks"

"No!" Green Lantern shouted up to him.

Kano's eye rolled up and over and he looked to see Green Lantern threatening him and a slightly surprised look came over his face "See you already got yer hands full with reunions" he then turned to her "Sleeping with the enemy? I never would've expected that from you love" he pouted to her. She returned it with a deadly glare that only made him laugh "What took ya so long?!" he laughed. The only thing that cut it off was a accusatory green finger

"You let him go or I'll-" Kano looked down at him amused before he laughed again

"You'll what?" he asked and Green Lantern went bitterly silent with a glare to match Sonya's. "You want him? Come and get 'im. Or.." he paused "Make it worth my while". The only thing received was silence and a room full of hateful stares. "First one then eh?" he asked and again received no answer "Your call" he grinned before the screen went black again.

"DAH!" Green Lantern shouted out as he threw a punch into the wall; one that made the entire building shook and caused several people to loose their footing. His head hung low in defeat and anger, but a reassuring hand placed on his shoulder managed to calm him. He turned up to see Sonya standing next to him

"It's okay" Sonya said trying to console him "We'll get him back" he said softly "All of them" she said hardly reminding him that Superman and Wonder Woman may be just as bad. Green Lantern turned back and stood up straight. The two looked each other in the eye and he said nothing, but nodded to her. She returned one to him before she turned back to the others with her usual hard expression with Green Lantern in tow. "Alright" she said putting her hands on her hips as everyone crowded around her, speaking more lively now than before. Green Lantern stopped beside her "Here's the plan. We gotta find Kano's lair and rescue Flash. Any questions?" she said in a hard direct yet monotone voice.

"I love group projects" Captain Marvel let out happily. He got strange looks from Jacqui and Cassie who stood next to him.

"Where do we even start?" Johnny asked as he stepped up.

"I shall return to the sky temple" Raiden came forward with an answer "From there I can locate any irregularity; no doubt it will be The Flash". That answer seemed to bring content with everyone, well most of them.

"And how long with that take?" Green Lantern asked impatiently

"I shall not delay any further. And I shall return with answers" he said before raising his hand and disappearing in a flash of lighting, taking one less from their group.

The room flashed in a moment and then simmered back into normalcy the next.

"Well that's one idea" Johnny said "Any other takers?"

"We can try to circumnavigate the earth?" Green Lantern said motioning to him and Captain Marvel "See if we run into anything?"

"I don't want us to fraction out any more" Sonya said putting a hand up "Or to loose any more of you" she pointed to him and Captain Marvel

"Hm" Green Lantern let out "And what's your plan?"

"We hit him hard and fast" she said determined

"I like it" he nodded before bringing his head back up to see four people looking at them like deer's in headlights "And uh.." he leaned back down to her "What's your plan for the.." he trailed off as they seemed to take notice of them staring. Sonya only smirked coming to an conclusion very easily.

"They'll be with you" she responded slyly.

"What?!" he exclaimed "Are you serious?!"

"Absolutely" she said walking up to them. Green Lantern sighed and followed her. He let out a sigh of defeat as he sauntered up to them.

"Alright Titans" Green Lantern let out as he approached them, stopping alongside Sonya.

"Titans?" Cassie let out confused though he thought the comparison was appropriate.

"I've been told you've had your share of training exercises" he paused briefly "I've also been told that you've botched a lot of em. So I'm leading this next mission" he pointed with a thumb to his chest.

"No I am" Sonya said before she walked off

"And who put you in charge? General" he added that last bit respectfully, but hidden under playful sarcasm

Sonya continued to walk off, but turned around so they could still see "Remember I beat both of you" she pointed a finger to Green lantern and Captain Marvel.

"She's got a point" Cap shrugged in agreement.

"Go mom!" Cassie raised a fist in the air.

"Alright" Green Lantern shrugged getting everything back on track "Then I'm leading your next mission" he emphasized his role with them; superior to subordinate.

"We don't need-" Jin stepped up.

"To rescue my friend" he added seriously.

"Didn't your friend end up here the same way you did? Uninvited? Only a matter of time before someone kicked you out" he saw he was getting a rise out of Green Lantern and kept going "Guess he wasn't as strong as you". Green Lantern face began to turn into a snarl, but someone else came up to simmer things down

"Orders are orders" Johnny said casually walking up to him, taking Green Lanterns side as he stood next to him "Let's see how you do with a substitute" he joked.

"I'll do it!" Captain Marvel said eagerly with his hands up, hopping up and down, easily getting everyone attention and some perplexed looks "That is if you don't want to" he added quickly, before looking down to Cassie and Jacqui with wide eyes. The two of them just looked back with blank stares.

"He's looking at you" Cassie whispered cautiously to her.

"No, it's you" she whispered uncomfortably back.

Captain Marvel then turned to face them "I don't think we've been introduced" he began politely puffing his chest out "Captain Marvel" he offered a hand of Jacqui.

"Oh shit it is me" she let out flabbergasted. And all of a sudden felt even more uncomfortable in only her tank top.
