This is the first chapter in my first Fanfic let me know what you think.
Chapter Synopsis: Mars Long-Range Observatory a highly classified Australian Military Station on Mars detected two unknown vessels enter the Sol System via unknown means, in response the Australian Defence Force activated its highly classified Rapid Response Element Omega Protocol.

Dr Mason Taylor's Quarters
0400 hrs. Earth Standard Time
As any other day on the Red Planet Dr Mason Taylor woke up with the urge to quit his job and return to Earth. That is when Mason reminds himself of the added pay benefits to working on Mars, also it helps that it is Thursday which means that it is Mason turn to use the EV Suit to go for a walk outside. As Mason finally opened his eyes he saw the calming image of the Solar System on his roof, his bed was against the wall which he still hadn't gotten around to painting yet. As he got up and placed his legs over the bed he saw his desk a mess as always with papers covering the surface, his favorite coffee mug with 'World's Best Dad' written on the side, his laptop still open and covered in coffee stains, a white Cupboard with clothes hanger out of drawers and letters from his wife and daughter, with his mini-fridge next to it and finally the door leading into the hallway. Mason's excitement for walking on Mars' surface soon vanished when he heard his supervisors voice on the bases Intercom "Dr Taylor report to Sensor Room Echo-2 immediately" came the female voice. Mason swore he could hear a hint of fear in her voice which was unusual for her. As he closed and shouldered his laptop he opened the door to find two soldiers in the standard Australia Army Auscam uniforms waiting for him. What he found stranger is that they were fully kitted out and combat ready.
"Dr Taylor sir, we are here to escort you to Sensor Room Echo-2," the soldier on the left said.
Mason simply nodded and took a left turn and started walking the small journey to his workstation. After a quick five-minute walk, he arrived at Sensor Room Echo-2 and found that security increased drastically, instead of the one soldier with a sidearm sitting behind a desk he was clad in full combat gear with his F88 Austeyr leaning on the side of the desk as well as six additional soldiers in full combat gear, two by the door, two at the corners leading to Echo-2 with one next to the desk and the last opposite him.
"Jordan, what is with the added security?" Mason asked with worry clearly in his voice.
"Dr Lauren Ross will explain inside," Jordan replied while tapping on the card and palm reader.
Mason placed his security card on card reader and his right hand on the palm reader both lighting up green. Mason entered the room and instead of seeing a room of empty stations with one or two technicians and a supervisor, the room is bustling with action with technicians running from station to station, a mixture of voices providing information and commands fill the room. A woman in a black suit calls Mason over.
"Lauren what is happening?" Mason asked with concern.
"Long Range Sensors detects two vessels approaching the system, we have contacted Luna-1 and they are deploying rapid response teams, I need you to locate an entrance point and assist them however you can." Lauren replied with an encouraging voice.
Mason nodded typed several command on his console which brought up a close-up view to the vessels and he started to look for an entrance point.

Arthur/Eliza Hamilton's House
0600 hrs. Earth Standard Time/2000 hrs. Australian Eastern Standard Time
Arthur was in his daughters' room watching his five-year Zoe sleep, it had been a long day of meetings and briefing, apparently some general who he had already forgotten the name of decided it was best that 3rd Battalion, Royal Australian Regiment needed a refresher on the Uniform Code of Military Justice. Arthur loved his job but sometimes it sucked he was a man of action not words. As Arthur started to fall asleep in the chair he had put next to his Zoe's bed his phone went off. As he looked at the screen his heart stopped, it said the two words he wished he would never see 'Omega Protocol thirty minutes deployment ASAP.'
Zoe was a light sleeper so when Arthur's phone went off she started to wake and tiredly asked, "dad, is it time to get ready?"
Putting his phone away he got off the chair and knelt down next to the bed putting his head on his right arm while moving Zoe's hair out of her face with his left hand, "no sweety but something came up at work and I have to go away for a while." He said softly.
"But my Recital is in the morning," Zoe replied with tired frustration.
"I know, and I can't wait to see it but I have to go to keep you and your sister safe."
"Ok, I love you," Zoe said while laying back down to go to sleep.
"I love you too," Arthur said kissing her forehead and her sister's forehead on the bunk above her.
He grabbed his Go Bag from his room and found his wife Eliza in the living room with her friend Holly O'Brien, "El, something came up at work I don't know how long it is going to take," he said.
"Can't it wait till after tomorrow? it's Zoe's Recital." She asked.
Arthur took a sit next to his wife placing his hand on her knee, "I've explained it to Zoe, she doesn't like it, she knows I am doing this to protect her I am also trying to protect you." He said finally meeting her eyes.
Seeing the worry and concern visible on Arthur's face Eliza places her own hand on his and holds it tightly, "you do whatever it is you have to do but you come back to us alive."
"I promise," Arthur replied, he kissed her than muttered again "I promise," he than nodded towards Holly and headed to his car, a black 1969 Dodge Charger.

Lavarack Barracks, Parade Grounds
0620 hrs. Earth Standard Time/2020 hrs. Australian Eastern Standard Time
Arthur sped through the streets of Townsville at high speeds overtaking cars and running red lights, thirty seconds out from Lavarack Barracks Arthur passed a police vehicle who activated their lights and sirens and chased after Arthur. The police vehicle caught up to Arthur's Charger when he turned into the entrance of the Lavarack Barracks. As Arthur finished turning he could easily see a chinook finishing up loading those that will be going with him to wherever it is they are being taken. He drove up to the military police officer standing at the gate showed his ID and waved him through. The police vehicle deactivated his siren but left the lights on and pulled up to the MP and got out of his vehicle and started talking to him.
Arthur pulled up to the Parade Grounds where the Chinook had finished loading up the soldiers and supplied, when he got out of his Charger he was approached by a man with three stars on his shoulders, Arthur saluted, the general returned the salute and motioned for Arthur to walk with him.
Addressing the elephant in the room "is this real sir," Arthur asked.
The general stopped and looked into Arthur's eyes the concern and worry easily visible on his face "I am afraid so captain, MLRO detected two unidentified objects that resemble pyramid like ships appeared out of a blue like window in space," the general said the last part with confusion and not believing he just said that.
"Pyramid like ships, blue like window in space?" Arthur mimicked unbelieving.
Hearing the rotors of the Chinook nearing full power the general ordered Arthur to board the Chinook, they saluted each other, Arthur boarded and the general was approached by a Queensland Police Officer and an Army MP.
Arthur took the last seat in the Chinook next to the ramp acknowledging his soldiers with a half salute and nod. As the ramp closed and the chinook took off, a female lieutenant handed him a folder, with the MLRO logo (Mars with the Southern Cross and Federation Star overlapping the planet and a telescope shade coming out of the planet in the upper right area) and in red capital letters the words CLASSIFIED OMEGA PROTOCOL, under that in black writing Senior Personal Eyes Only.
During the flight Arthur thoroughly read through the folder, it showed a blue-white effect appearing out of nowhere than the Pyramid ships appearing and the blue-white effect disappearing. Telemetry Reports show that they are traveling towards Earth. There are also several photos with areas along the hull that have been marked which are described as possible entry points.

Arthur was jolted awake when the Chinook landed, as he finished regaining his senses the rear ramp had been lowered and his soldiers had already started disembarking. Arthur got up grabbed his Go-bag and joined his soldiers walking towards the open hanger bay with ten oddly shaped vessels inside. The rear of the vessel is coming to a point near the rear, with it sloping down to the front of the vessel, near the front of the vessel are two windows along the slope. Arthur joined his soldiers walking over to several joined together tables with weapons armor and utility items being taken and equipped by other soldiers. Arthur equipped himself with a standard issue armor set (body armor, helmet, knee and elbow pads), a F88 Austeyr Assault Rifle fixed with an M203 Grenade Launcher, Browning Hi-Power Pistol, two F1 Fragmentation Grenades, two M8 White Smoke Grenades, one of each M18 Green and Red Smoke Grenades, one M14 Thermite Grenade, four blocks of C4 with a Detonator and a M9 Bayonet, as Arthur went to walk off towards the Officers Briefing he noticed a Mossberg 500 Shotgun and slung it over his shoulder, he than walked over to Lieutenant General Ryan Palmer who had started his briefing and took notice of the ten or so people standing there.
"So," he coughed awkwardly "I never thought I would have to give a briefing to activated Omega units but here goes. You have all read the intel report from MLRO and know that they have identified five possible Infiltration Points we will be using two," the general points to the two images on showing two large doors marked with blue each image has a 1 and 2. "Digger and Emu will ingress at Infill Point 1, while Drop Bear and Huntsman will ingress at Infill Point 2."
A female voice Arthur recognized as Captain Hazel Ward from the 2nd Combat Engineer Regiment and the commanding officer of his sister unit Emu, "General I don't mean to put a damper on your plans but how are we going to open those doors?"
"You transports have been fitted with two AIM-9 Sidewinders each. So, you have two options when you arrive, if the doors are open you can use a combination of stealth and shock and awe, your second option is if the doors are closed you will have to use pure shock and awe tactics." General Palmer states.
"Do we know how many combatants will be inside?" A male voice belonging to Major John Chapman from the 2nd Commando Regiment asked.
"Negative," the general sighed and pressed his fingers to his temple, "look people, I don't like this either but you have all read the reports from AUSTINT regarding what they found in these ships," General Palmer notions towards the alien ships, "if we don't do this and we wait for whatever it is they are doing to happen it will be too late. We are not only doing this for our countries and our friends and family but we are doing this for the whole world so that humanity can live on. So that our families can live on. If we get knocked down we get back up and we will fight until Earth is safe." As General Palmer finished talking the supply lieutenant had rolled over a trolly carrying combat equipment.
"General you're not," Arthur pointed towards the combat gear.
"What, you think I am going to let you go up there and fight aliens by yourself?" He retorted and started to put his gear on, "Dismissed."
At that the officers of Omega Protocol dispersed and went to their separate vessels finding a mismatch of soldiers in combat gear wearing AUSCAM uniforms and civilian clothes getting ready for coming battle, all of them the officers including knowing that this may be there final days alive.
As the door behind Arthur and General Palmer closed they heard the pilot say into the radio "Pine Gap Tower this is Digger Flight 1 our cabin is sealed, clocking generator activated and ready for launch."
Over the next ten seconds Arthur and General Palmer heard the other nine vessels verify the same pre-flight over radio before Tower said, "All Omega Vessels you are go for launch."
At that there was a jolt through the vessel indicating they have started moving, Arthur and General Palmer saw they were racing towards the sky.
