A/N: Hey again! So this is it, the along awaited chapter that introduces our fav SEAL team and give you a lot of answers!
There may be a Stargate quote in here (I really can't help myself, lol)
So last week my family went on spring break in Atlanta (where MacGyver is filmed), and I didn't know it at the time, but I totally went by one of their location sets!
Of course massive thanks to my amazing beta, and as always I don't own MacGyver (or else I would have been on that set, lol!)
Two Weeks Earlier
"I think they're going to take me." That sentence made Jack's blood run cold. He jammed the transmission into drive and gunned the engine into a u-turn and started back to where Mac was. All the while knowing he would never make in time to stop them from grabbing Mac.
Over the comms Jack heard Mac's footfalls pick up then all of a sudden quiet. "Mac?" Jack gasped out, terror squeezing his heart with the fear that Mac had already been taken.
"I'm here," came the quiet reply. "I found a hiding spot, but it'll only buy me a few minutes. I'm going to let them take me."
"Your what? Like hell!" Jack nearly yelled.
"Jack! Listen, I don't have much time, but I think I know a way to bring down the coup from inside." Jack brought the car to a shuddering stop at the side of the road as he listened to Mac outline his plan. "For the first several days I can take whatever they throw at me. You know I will give you time to set up our targets, then on day six I'll break. Tell them my real name and that I'm CIA. Once they believe me then I'll feed them the fake information that you've backed up out here, we can set it up the same way we did in Belize. That way the General will believe some of his most trusted advisors and lieutenants have betrayed him. Once he can't trust anybody he'll run in fear of what the King will do to him. Then on day fourteen you come get me."
The plan was a decent one, about as good of a plan as their team ever got, but Jack didn't like it one bit."I should be the one doing this, not you Bud. I've had SERE training." Jack sighed knowing that despite every cell of his body not wanting this to happen, it was going to.
"So have I." Mac threw back. "Plus, as Agent Price said I look like a frat boy who will crumble easily, besides they are already on my trail."
"Yeah, you completed basic level A while I completed level C with flying colors." Their banter had calmed both of them. "Okay so which people do we want to target?" Mac quickly named the three people who he thought had the best chance of making this work.
"I'm going to leave my comm., cell phone, and the flash drive Edgars gave me in the crook of the second tree behind the bench." Mac then described where he was at, so that Jack could recognize it. "You'll come get me in two weeks right?" Mac said.
Jack could hear the slight hint of fear and desperation in his voice. "Wild equine could not keep me away." Jack joked thickly.
Mac chuckled quietly at the joke, "I think I hear them. See you in two weeks Jack." Then he was gone. Jack leaned against the steering wheel and prayed that they had done the right thing. He then put the car back into gear and sped toward where Mac had left the drive and his comm for Jack to he had retrieved them he then rushed to the old farmhouse to update Agent Price on what had happened and what their new objective was.
Pulling into the driveway of old farmhouse Jack was relieved to see Owen's SUV parked in the driveway. The man was inside making notes on the whiteboard. He frowned when he saw that it was Jack, "I thought-"
Jack didn't give him enough time to finish his sentence. He thrust the flash-drive at Owen, "Mac's been taken and we need to start laying a cover trail for him. This is the drive that Edgars passed onto him at their 's go!"
"Wait, what?" Owen asked confusion evident on his face.
"Mac was taken by the General's forces-"
This time Owen interrupted Jack, "We've got to get him back!" Panic was evident in his voice, "We can't let them know that there is an American agent working for the King!"
"Listen to me!" Jack commanded gaining Owen's attention. "We have a plan. Mac's going to be a clam for six the six days he's then going to start singing like a canary. Only the tune he's gonna be singing is that some of the General's most trusted allies aren't really his allies. Get his paranoia going…"
Owen started to nod, catching on to the plan. "And we've got to make it look like these allies are betraying him and that they're the ones working with the United States."
"Exactly. Then after two weeks have passed we will go in and get him. Hopefully by that time the SEAL team will be here to provide backup."
Gripping the thumb-drive in his hand Owen looked up, "All right let's get to work." He turned to the white board, "So who is going to be betraying the General?"
Jack quickly listed the three names that Mac had selected. He and Owen then spent the rest of the day going over how to set it all up. They had most of their plan outlined and both were tiring when a thought hit Jack, "We also have to find where they are holding Mac so that we can monitor it in the meantime and then go get him when the two weeks are over."
Agent Price rubbed his tired eyes, "Oh that's easy, they put any prisoners they have in this old prison hotel place on the outskirts of town. It'll be the easiest part of this whole thing."
"Could one person take it by themselves?" Jack asked, preparing himself for the worst-case scenario.
"Uhhhhh, possibly." Owen answered with a shrug. "Back-up will come before then though."
"Thinkin' positive. I like that." Jack stood up and stretched, "Ok hombre, I've got to get some shut eye. We've got a lot of ground to cover in the morning."
The next several days were spent setting up the plan while also trying to keep steady surveillance on the men. The days went by with little sleep for either Owen or Jack. On the fifth day as they were trading off Owen passed Jack an energy drink and said, "The SEAL team is due in," he glanced at his watch, "about four hours. They're supposed to meet us here. So if you could bring them up to speed?"
"No problem, I'm going to rack out until then."
Owen nodded and started towards the door, "Jason Hays is the team leader, Bravo team."
Jack gave him a thumbs up in acknowledgment, put the energy drink back to grab later and went to get some precious sleep. He was up and somewhat awake when two older model SUV's rolled into the driveway and seven men and a dog climbed out wearily. As they stood around most of them took the chance to stretch and take in their surroundings. That told Jack that it was likely that they had traveled a while to get out into the little courtyard where they had parked Jack greeted them, "Glad you boys could make it."
A tall well-built man walked over and extended his hand, "Glad we could help, I'm Jason Hays, team leader."
"Nice to meet you Jason, I'm Jack Dalton." They shook hands briefly.
"This here," Jason thumped the chest of the dark skinned guy beside him, "is my second, Ray Perry. The baby faced kid there is Clay, and the ugly one beside him is Sonny."
On Sonny's shirt was an outline of the state of Texas with the state flag filling the inside. Jack grinned at him, "Don't mess with Texas."
Sonny smirked and extending his hand, the two men clasped hands. "Told ya this would be a good job, Jase."
Jason shook his head good-naturedly at the two of them and continued with the introductions, "That's Trent, Brock, and Summer, and this good boy right here is Cerberus." Jason pointed at each man as he introduced them then bent to pat the dog. "Cerberus is house broken, but I'm not sure about Sonny."
"Hey now!" Sonny cried in mock hurt.
"Come on in and I'll get y'all up to speed. CIA casa es su casa." Jack led them into the house and the dining room area that they had been using as a briefing room. "There's two bedrooms, that a way." He pointed in the direction of the bedroom. "Throw down your stuff wherever you see a spot."
Once everyone had somewhat settled in Jack briefed them on what was going on and where they needed help. Jason was looking at the three profiles still up and the measures they had taken. "It looks like you are running a tight ship, what do you need us to do?"
In Jack's opinion that was the mark of a good leader, he asked where he was needed instead of just taking over. Hays earned immediate respect from Jack for that. "Right now we need help keeping our guys under surveillance." Jack couldn't stop a yawn, "Agent Owen Price and I are running ourselves ragged trying to keep all three under surveillance, and also trying to keep an eye on the General."
Hays nodded. The kid spoke up, "Do we know where your friend is being kept at?"
Jack rubbed his face, "Yeah, Owen says that they keep their prisoners in this one old prison outside of town."
"I have to ask," Summer started, "Is your friend MacGyver the same MacGyver who set records in EOD by disarming 112 in a single day?"
Grinning at his kid's recognition Jack nodded, "That would be him. He's pretty good with his hands."
"I've heard good things." Summer said.
"Summer's our EOD guy." Hays volunteered. "Do you mind?" He gestured at the board, but Jack knew he meant taking over the op, which was fine with Jack as long as he got some sleep and Mac got rescued.
"Have at it. You know your guys."
"Ok here's what we're going to do. Clay you and Sonny take Target A, Ray you and Summer take Target B, Trent and Brock you take Target C. Send Agent Price back here then Dalton and I'll keep an eye on the General and scope out this prison. You know what you're doing, but remember we don't have our usual support on this mission." With various nods and Jack handing over the keys to the vehicle he had been driving the six men filed out. Hays clapped Jack on the shoulder, "Go get some sleep, I'll wake you when you're needed." He didn't need to be told that twice, sleep came swift and was deep.
The next seven days passed swiftly, with all of the men taking turns keeping an eye on their targets, until one by one the targets disappeared. After the last target, Target B disappeared on the seventh day since the SEAL's got there. Jack realized that they needed to move on Mac or else they would risk his execution. That night they made plans to raid the old prison at first light.
Hays wanted to leave Jack at the farmhouse on standby and had argued that their group was a well-oiled machine and could successfully extract Mac without him to which Jack adamantly refused and argued against. "How would you like it if say Ray here had been kidnapped and they asked you to just wait?"
Jason nodded his agreement, "Fine, but you stick close to my six, understand?"
"Crystal."
Jack suited up like the rest of the guys with a tac vest, tactical rifle, baseball cap, and the comms that linked him up with the rest of the unit. Upon seeing that Sonny had the Texas state flag where the rest of the team had a US flag on their tac vest Jack asked, "So you got an extra one of those?"
Sonny laughed, "If you roll out with us again, I'll get you your very own."
"Sweet." The two bumped knuckles. The ride to the old prison was quiet, as they approached Hays did a comms check then went over their extraction plan again. Once in they broke into their separate teams. Jack was with Hays and Sonny. Their orders from the CIA were to use deadly force only if they had to, and to take prisoners where they could.
Their group didn't meet anybody coming up the stairwell to the second floor, but a beefy guy was standing outside of a doorway halfway down the hallway on the second level. "That's one big sunna bit-," Sonny started to say quietly, but was silenced with a glare from Hays.
"I'm going to need some noise on the east side of the building. We've run into a guard, and I need a distraction." Jason said quietly into his comm. A few seconds later the three men could hear a noise off in the noise caught the attention of the guard, he turned, but stayed where he was. "Again." Jason said quietly into his comm. This time the sound was louder and closer.
"I bet ole Bam-Bam's playing with his blocks." Sonny whispered chuckling. He was again silenced with a glare from Jason. The guard rapped sharply on the door twice then slowly started towards the opposite end of the hallway. The three men quietly entered the hallway, and crept up behind eased closer and brought the stock of his rifle down on the guard's head knocking him out. They quickly secured him and then the three men turned to the doorway that the guy had guarded.
"I'll breach, you both enter." Hays commanded. With a nod from each, both Jack and Sonny had their guns up and ready and Jason blew the door open. They quickly entered the room taking in the scene inside.
Mac was standing in the middle of the room with a knife held to his throat, which was being forced upwards. He was in rough shape with bruises dotting his face and blood staining his filthy clothing. The guy holding Mac said in perfect English, "Well you were correct Angus, they have come to rescue you."
"You just let him go, and this can all end peacefully." Jack said.
A harsh laugh was his answer, "We both know I cannot let that happen." He repositioned himself slightly, "I am-" He wasn't able to say anymore because as he was shifting Sonny shot him through the shoulder, dropping him. He lay on the floor bleeding and crying out in pain.
Mac gave Jack a lopsided grin, "Hey Jack." Then he dropped like a stone.
A/N2: So what did you think?
The part i put about Ray being kidnapped, well I wrote that BEFORE the story-line in the show! I guess I must be psychic, lol.
I know probably nobody cares, but i'll update my other story, 'Love, Lies, & Deception' next Monday!
