This story takes place right after Breaking Dawn, but there was no imprint on Renesmee. All the events remain the same, and after they fought the Volturi the Cullens moved to Canada.

Chapter 10: Lies

Seths's POV:

I took Alex up to the office and showed her her first class. She ended up sitting next to me in English which was awesome. She seemed happy when she was told to sit by me too. I walked her to her math class which she had with Jake. Then at lunch she came and sat with us. People whispered about her again. I had biology with her. Then she went off to music and dance. After school she came and met us at the car. Jake decided we were going to go over to Emily's after we picked up her siblings.

When we walked inside, Emily greeted us, and we sat down at the table. Then I overheard Alex mention to Emily about how 'most everyone' were nice. "What do you mean by 'most everyone'" I asked. I would hurt anybody who made her first day harder.

"Oh um...some girl named Rylee wasn't exactly pleasant, but I don't really care. I stopped letting people like her get to me like three years ago." She responded.

I can tell by looking at her eyes, it really did not bother her, but that did not mean that I liked someone being mean to her. "What did she say?" I asked. I was curious to how bad of a comment it was.

"It really doesn't matter, just seemed like some jealous bitch." Se said.

"Ok" I responded even though I did not feel any better about the stupid girl being mean to her.

We sit at the table. I work on my biology homework. I can't quite figure out the stupid mitosis phases correctly, so I start thinking back to the day. I remember the necklace she is wearing with the 'L' and 'R' on it.

"Oh, hey Lex, I meant to ask you earlier, why do you wear that necklace?" I asked

"Oh yeah I was curious too. I saw you wearing it at my house yesterday." Jacob commented.

"Oh...um...I just like it I guess." She pauses, "Hey Jake on the way back to my house can we stop by yours, I need to see if Billy can watch the twins after school tomorrow?"

Wait she definitely avoided the question about her necklace. Wait where is she going tomorrow?

"Oh sure, I'm sure he won't mind, but you can ask to double check." Jake responded. "Wait, where are you gonna be?" He asked.

"Oh... I'm heading up to Seattle. I won't be back to late and figured it would be better if the twins stayed there tomorrow afternoon and night."

Why is she going to Seattle. She could get hurt, and what is she doing that's going to take so long.

"Why are you going to Seattle." I asked.

"Picking up something for uh class." she responded, but I could tell she was lying.

"What are you picking up?" I asked, trying to get some more information out of her since I could tell she was lying.

"Um just something for dance." She was still lying.

"And you are going to be back late?" I asked, I knew she was lying. Even without the Imprint I would know. If she was picking something up she probably could have gotten it in Port Angeles, plus if she was going to Seattle just to buy something for a class she would not be back late.

"Yep" She clearly was not going to tell me the truth.

"You know Seattle is dangerous for someone like you to walk around in all alone." I said. I did not want her to get hurt. There are always vampires in that city, even after we dealt with the newborn issue last year. Even if she did not run into a vampire, there were other people that could harm her in a big city.

She rolled her eyes at me and asked, "Someone like me?"

"Oh...um...uh...just your really beautiful and pretty, and cities are dangerous and full of criminals."

She blushed but rolled my eyes again. "Seth" she said, "I used to live in L.A. I can handle myself in a city"

"I agree with Seth, you should let one of us go with you." Jacob said.

"Thank you Jake" I mumbled so he would hear but Alex wouldn't.

"No!" She shouted. Strange. She is definitely hiding something. "Its just I can handle myself and don't need someone to go with me. That's final!"

"Fine, but you better call me when you get there and are on your way home." Jacob said. I agree with him. If she's not going to let someone go with her she might as well call to tell us she's safe.

"Oh my gosh! I can handle myself. I don't need to check in with anyone. As long as Billy is ok with it, I will drop the twins there after school tomorrow, and then I'll pick them up from school Thursday."

"Jeez just trying to keep you safe." I heard Jacob mumble under his breath.

"Fine, but if you get hurt I swear -" Jake started to say but Alex interrupted him.

"Jake, I'll be fine."

She got up and walked into the living room. I tuned towards Jake. "She was lying. I don't know what she is going to Seattle for, but its not to get something for class."

"I figured that, but she obviously won't tell us." Jake said. "She is a good person though. I say we just trust that she isn't doing anything that will get her in trouble or hurt."

"I know she's a good person, but that doesn't mean I don't worry about her going to the city alone."

"Seth, she'll be fine. She seems to know what she is doing." Jake said trying to calm me down.

"Fine, that doesn't mean I like it." I grumbled.

Alex sat in the living room until dinner. After dinner Jake took her home.
