The Spanish Flu Outbreak had occurred. The world's infrastructure and governments were devastated. Spanish Flu escalated to an epidemic level.
The large loss of life both during and after the war horrified the world's populace. The League of Nations was formed as proposed by US President Woodrow Wilson.
The US declined to join the League but instead formed the World Democratic Society in mutual support of the League's opposition to communism.
The Russian Bolsheviks formed the GRU (Main Intelligence Directorate).
1919 CE: The predecessor of the KGB, the Cheka, infiltrated the GRU, which started the fierce rivalry between the two agencies.
Colonel Boris was born.
1922 CE: The Russian Civil War ended with Bolshevik Victory.
The Union of Soviet Socialist Republics was founded.
The Philosophers secret organization was founded by authority figures from America, post-revolutionary Russia & China.
The founders would later be known as the Wisemen's Committee.
"The Boss / The Joy" was born.
1923 CE: To prevent further European and American imperial interventions, Mexico, Cuba, the Dominican Republic, Haiti, Jamaica, Ecuador, Venezuela, Columbia, Guyana & Panama formed the Freedom Consortium.
1924 CE: Several German political extremists were reported missing.
These disappearances started at Landsberg Prison with the leader of the NADSP, Adolf Hitler. Hitler was released after he served his sentence for his role in the Bavarian Beer Hall Putsch.
1925 CE: Vladimir Lenin died. Joseph Stalin became the leader of the Soviet Union.
Founding Soviet Revolutionary, Leon Trotsky escaped Stalin's political purges and sought asylum in Mexico City.
The Soviet Union under Joseph Stalin grew in authoritarianism. In private correspondences, Stalin envisioned the global Soviet Union, with himself as the supreme ruler of the mind & spirit of every Soviet citizen.
1927 CE: Albert Einstein attended the fifth Solvay Conference in Brussels.
Dr Kaspar Siegfried was born.
1930 CE: The Soviet Union's aggressive stance led to a reshuffling of territory within Europe.
The League of Nations adhered to the Policy of Appeasement. The League agreed to terms the Soviets forced, which changed international borders.
Several Eastern European states, including Poland, were forced to accept Soviet military presence within their borders & Soviet advisors in their governments.
The USSR colonized much of Eastern Europe.
The last member of the Wisemen's Committee died & The Philosophers began to lose control.
Dr Strangelove was born.
Tombaugh discovered Pluto & Proserpina (Sol XVIII & XIX).
1932 CE: "Venom Snake / V / Ahab / Big Bosses Phantom" was born.
1935 CE: "John / Jack / Naked Snake / Ishmael / Big Boss" was born.
1936 CE: The Spanish Civil War was started.
"EVA / Tatyana / Tanya / Big Mama" was born.
"Dr Clark / Para-Medic / Quack" was born.
1938 CE: The Italian-Austrian War was started.
The Italian-Austrian War had ended with victory for Austria.
Austria was assisted in the war by the League of Nations & Germany with the command of Erwin Rommel.
With the failure to prevent another armed conflict and internal pressure from its members, the League of Nations was restructured into the Grand Alliance of Nations.
The Chinese Provisional Government & the Empire of Japan left the League of Nations.
The World Association of Nations charter was signed & ratified by the United States of America, all members of the Grand Alliance of Nations & its associate states.
The Italian-Austrian War saw the first use of Mobile Construction Technology in warfare.
1939 CE: The Spanish Civil War ended with victory for the Spanish Nationalists.
Albert Einstein wrote a letter to US President Franklin D. Roosevelt who advised them to work on the Atomic Bomb, in response to Russia's research.
1940 CE: The Empire of Japan invaded the mainland of the fragile Chinese Provisional Government.
The Chinese Civil War was started between Communist Revolutionaries, Chinese Nationalists, Japanese-backed Chinese Monarchists & various Chinese Warlords.
The Grand Alliance of Nations didn't intervene in the Chinese Civil War.
Leon Trotsky survived a public assassination attempt.
The Republic of Taiwan, the Philippines, Indonesia, Papua New Guinea, Malaysia, Thailand & Myanmar formed the Asian Defence League for military support against the Empire of Japan.
José Arcadio Morales was born.
1941 CE: The Japanese invaded French Indochina, & Taiwan simultaneously. The Japanese surprise attacked the US Pacific fleet at Pearl Harbor.
The Pacific War was started when the United States, the Grand Alliance of Nations & the Asian Defense League declared war on Japan.
Using the undamaged shipyards & fuel depots in Pearl Harbor the US Pacific fleet was quickly repaired & rebuilt.
The ADL fleet couldn't liberate Taiwan but blockaded the Japanese Navy from invading the Philippines & blockaded Japanese-occupied French Indochina.
Chitzkoi was born.
1942 CE: Women's military services established across America, the GAN & the ADL.
More than 120,000 Japanese & persons of Japanese ancestry living in the western U.S. were moved to "relocation centres," some for the duration of the war.
General Douglas MacArthur had led the gruelling island-hopping campaign of the Battle of the Pacific which drove the Imperial Navy from Taiwan to Okinawa.
The Office of Strategic Services, the predecessor of the Central Intelligence Agency, was founded.
The Manhattan Project was started.
Physicist Enrico Fermi split an atom in a nuclear reactor. Fermi created the first artificial nuclear fission chain reaction.
Code Talker helped create the U.S. military code talker's cypher book.
The Boss formed the Cobra Unit during the Battle of Taipei, an elite unit that would play a pivotal role in key Allied victories during the darkest days of the Pacific War.
1943 CE: A prolonged & brutal firebombing campaign of Japanese Cities culminated in the US deploying the Mother of All Bombs (MOAB) on Hiroshima, Miyazaki & Nagasaki.
The Japanese Empire surrendered to the US, ADL & GAN.
The Pacific War ended with the Japanese defeat.
1944 CE: Outlined in the Treaty of Honolulu, the parliament of the new constitutional monarchy of Japan invested in the military development of the ADL as part of its reparations.
The Kanagawa Industries Corporation was founded as an advanced weapons research firm.
The US & the ADL, after continued financial support in reconstruction from Europe, joined the GAN.
Adamska "Ocelot" was born.
1945 CE: The first nuclear test, codenamed "Trinity", was conducted in Alamogordo at Los Alamos.
Huey Emmerich was born.
Vietnam had declared independence from France.
1946 CE: Albert Einstein & his protege, Kaspar Siegfried, successfully field-tested the first "Chrono" based technology located in Trinity, New Mexico. The details of the experiment remain undisclosed to this day.
ENIAC, the world's first electronic computer, was unveiled.
Kazuhira Miller was born.
Japan rejected Article 9 of the Japanese Constitution to renounce war and its right to maintain an army.
The Second Great World War was started by the USSR.
The American & European factions, & the Chinese & Russian factions of the Philosophers pooled their assets to secure peace. The two factions agreed to distribute them after the end of the war.
The Soviet war effort began with the invasion of a weakened East Asia by Soviet troops.
During this campaign, Marshall Gradenko distinguished himself in service & eventually rose to the position of Stalin's most trusted general.
At the start of the war, the Soviet Union had 14,000,000 enlisted troops and 7,000,000 men in the police, NKVD & other services.
The USSR was also a major economic power, with operating assets of more than 486,200,000,000 Swiss Francs.
Supporting it was a network of 200,000,000 agents that infiltrated the governments of Pan-African, Pan-Indian & Pan-Asian governments with suspected strongholds in Mexico City & Vancouver.
Command posts known to the Allies included Moscow, Kyiv, Stalingrad, Khartoum, Karachi & Da Nang.
The Soviet Union also had ties to global organizations, such as the World Democratic Society, Asian Defence League & the Freedom Consortium.
In comparison, the Allied Forces had 3,400,000 enlisted troops & 1,700,000 irregular (guerrilla and resistance) forces.
The British Special Air Service (SAS) was founded & headed by The Joy.
As a military organisation, the Allies operated out of three main command posts: Unified Operations Headquarters in London, Northern Theatre command centre in Oslo and Southern Theatre command centre in Madrid.
1947 CE: The Roswell UFO incident occurred, & the US encountered the Scrin.
The USA launched Observer 1, the first Earth-orbiting artificial satellite.
One of Marshell Gradenko's assignments before the invasion of Europe was field-testing the USSR's Sarin nerve gas. The original plan called for deploying Sarin to exterminate the civilian populations of Poland & Germany, & to force the West to surrender.
Thanks to the efforts of the Cobra Unit, combined with a series of military strikes in northern Europe, the nerve gas production facilities were destroyed & stockpiles burned.
The Soviet Army massacred a large detachment of the Polish Resistance Movement that took up arms outside Toruń. They, along with all civilians living in the area, were killed by Soviet forces under the command of Avgar Perevalov.
At the start of the war, the USSR controlled Finland, Hungary, Romania & Poland. These nations were used as a staging point for their invasion of Turkey & Iraq. The Allied Forces controlled a majority of Europe, including Norway, Sweden & Czechoslovakia.
Preparations for an assault on Germany were underway, with forwarding command posts established at the border. Avgar Perevalov was assigned to this, together with Georgi Kukov, to guard the bridges over the River Oder. The German military attacked well-entrenched Soviet positions & sabotaged the bridges. The Soviets continued & deployed infantry divisions across the Oder, this began the Soviet European Campaign.
In a raid behind the German line, the Soviets captured Albert Einstein, who had offered plans to develop a new weapon for the Allies. The Allies retaliated & Tanya Adams was dispatched with a small raiding party to the Slovakian-Hungarian border with orders to retrieve the scientist. The base fell quickly to the small commando force, which exploited the Soviet Defences' reliance on Tesla Power. The base was hastily built by the invading Soviets.
During the Soviet invasion of southern Sweden, where the Red Army executed a swift naval assault, an Allied spy had infiltrated one of the remaining Sarin gas production facilities & destroyed it. Gradenko attempted to hide the fact from Stalin, but Commander Nadia brought it to Stalin's attention. Perevalov was sent to deal with the spy. Despite help from the Swedish resistance & Allied remnants, the spy was captured and executed.
As planned by Commander Nadia, Soviet forces engaged German communication centres near Berlin, which forced the Allied military to divide their forces to save the critical communication node. Berlin was left exposed, which allowed the Soviets to take the German Capital. The Allies retreated & Field Commander A9, Ronald Wilson, was ordered to take control of a passage through the Sudety mountains on the Polish-Czechoslovakian border. With limited resources, he destroyed the Soviet forces in the region & allowed safe passage for the Allies.
The Allied army gained ground in central & eastern Poland. To prevent the regions from being retaken by the enemy, Tanya Adams destroyed key bridges on the Polish-Soviet border.
Soviet forces invaded Bulgaria & Turkey. They gained ground in Scandinavia. In the Aegean theatre, the retreating Turkish army, in a desperate move, retreated to Iraq. The Allied Turkish took Iraq as Turkey fell to the Soviets.
Despite Tanya's success, the Allied plan failed. The Soviets encircled and destroyed the overstretched Allied military in Poland. The Soviets regained lost ground & threatened the same mountain pass Commander Ronald Wilson cleared in the Sudety mountains. In a pitched defence, the Soviets were pushed back, despite their technological advantage (Allied Light Tanks vs. Soviet Qilin Tanks & Yak aircraft).
To support the Soviet invasion of Greece, the Soviet command dispatched forces to Khalkis Island to capture the Allied Radar dome to monitor Allied movements in the sector.
General Stavros, the aide to General von Esling, was emotionally compromised after he witnessed his country & his village during the Soviet invasion. He had witnessed first-hand the atrocities committed by the Soviets; which included liquidating entire villages. With Allied defeat in Greece inevitable, the Allies evacuated civilians from the Athens area.
The Allied Greek front collapsed & the Soviets captured Greece, Turkey, Iraq, Syria & Cyprus. At the same time, the Soviet offensive in Central Europe overran Germany and penetrated eastern France, northern Italy & the Benelux.
Allied diplomats convinced the World Association of Nations to establish unique military funding to back the Allied cause. In a 281 to 7 vote, the initiative was passed and it was agreed that a global defence agency would be formed in an undisclosed European capital.

Agent Tanya Adams recovered Einstein. Tanya was captured by the Soviets while transporting vital information on a Soviet top-secret research project. To stop her transfer to Moscow for interrogation & execution, General Von Esling dispatched Commander Wilson. He saved her from a Soviet prison facility near Grodno. The spy who aided Tanya was killed in the process. Tanya Adams delivered information on the Iron Curtain project to the Allies.
Bolstered by increased funding and support, Allied forces recovered lost land & gained an advantage over the USSR. The Soviets in Norway were stopped. In Czechoslovakia, Austria & Hungary the Allies defended their positions & pushed back the Soviets. In Yugoslavia, the Allied forces pushed to Greece. Allied Command was oblivious to the contents of a convoy heading for Gorzow, western Poland, where elements for the first nuclear weapons were being transported.
The Soviet Union conducted its first atomic test in space above Russia.
1949 CE: Advised by Dr Albert Einstein, the Iron Curtain Project was sabotaged. A strike force from liberated Greece destroyed the Soviet submarine R&D bases in the Aegean Sea. The Allies infiltrated the research centres, gained information on the project & destroyed them. The Allies hampered the research into the Iron Curtain. This mission only delayed its deployment.
The Allies rallied & regained the initiative.
A large Soviet strike force was deployed to the area where the Allies conquered the Soviet bases & commandeered their research. On other fronts, Allied armies attacked from Anatolia, liberating Syria & Iraq. After a swift campaign, Norway, most of Sweden, Greece & Cyprus was liberated.
1950 CE: Pacifica Ocean "Paz Ortega Andrade" was born.
Jack became The Boss's disciple.
Allied researchers under Professor Albert Einstein created a weapon to turn the tide of the war. Based on Einstein's research, the Philadelphia Experiment was conducted to test theories that would later pave way for the Chronosphere project. This was intended to provide reliable control over the Chrono effect. The primary research centre was in Leich, Austria which concentrated on control of the effect. The project was near a breakthrough when Soviet intelligence learned of the location & purpose of this facility. The Soviets attacked during a critical experiment. In a pitched defence, Commander Wilson safeguarded the tech centre housing the project.
The research suffered a minor setback when a Soviet attack on Elba Island, western Italy, destroyed the Allied field test of the Chronosphere and the Italian civilian resistance that aided them.
The Soviet attack didn't stall the Allied forces & the Allied offensive gained momentum. Most of Europe was liberated from Soviet control. Soviet forces in Eastern Germany were encircled & besieged. The Balkans were almost liberated. Allied divisions pushed through Turkey & Finland. The Soviets in Germany were desperate, taking hostages & making demands.
The Soviet Union shifted their offensive into a defensive.
1951 CE: The "Buster Dog" atomic test was conducted at Area 7 in Nevada. The Boss & Naked Snake was exposed to high levels of radiation.
A high-ranking Soviet researcher, Dr Vladimir Kosygin, wished to defect to the Allied Forces. He disclosed his location to General Von Esling. The Cobra Unit was dispatched to Riga, the Latvian Soviet Republic. The Allies infiltrated the Soviet base and secured Kosygin.
Dr Kosygin revealed details on the Soviet nuclear bombs. General Von Esling deployed Wilson to the Ural Mountains. Deep in Soviet territory, they attacked the Dark Horseman military base housing the nuclear weapons R&D centre. They discovered the base also housed silos. When the Soviets deemed the base lost to the Allies, the missiles were launched against European capitals. Wilson left his surface forces to a lieutenant & personally commanded the squad that infiltrated the missile plant. With Tanya Adams, he deactivated the four silos & prevented the missiles' detonation.
Allied Forces eliminated Soviet resistance in Europe & left the USSR on the defence.
1952 CE: Wernher von Braun proposed the Luna Project, his plan to send men into space.
The U.S. Army Special Forces "Green Berets" was first organized.
The United Kingdom tested its first nuclear bomb.
The US National Security Agency (NSA) was established.
A large detachment of Allied forces landed near Stalingrad (referred to during that mission as 'Volgograd', possibly as an Allied code name) & cleared the Volga river for Allied warships. Critically supported by cruisers & destroyers, the Allies moved deeper into enemy territory.
The Allies investigated rumours of an improved Iron Curtain Prototype. Supported by Longbow gunships, the European military intercepted & destroyed the Iron Curtain. Tech centres captured during the assignment revealed the existence of a major underground weapons plant supplying the Soviet forces. The facility was destroyed by the Cobra Unit. This event & the brutal campaign in Siberia destroyed the remaining Soviet nuclear capability. The Allies paved their way to Moscow.
1953 CE: The Allies occupied most of the European USSR landmass, the Allied Forces sieged Moscow & utilized its entire arsenal in this one final battle. Tanya Adams was ahead & secured funds for the initial deployment of the Allied military. The Battle for Moscow was the most massive & bloody battle of the war. The Allies defeated the Soviet defenders.
Stalin was heavily wounded & buried under rubble during the Allied assault. The dictator was discovered by Allied infantry & later by Nikos Stavros. Stavros ordered the infantry to abandon rather than capture Stalin. With the intent of revenge, Stavros gagged Stalin & left the dictator to die.
The Second Great World War ended with victory for the Allies.
The USSR surrendered. The USSR signed the Treaty of Krakow. An estimated 100,000,000 people were killed during the conflict.
The Allies had never found the Yuri-led Psychic Corps or their clandestine projects. Stalin's Advisor was also nowhere to be seen.
The Allies' "Pacific Front" was called to a truce by the Soviet-backed Chinese Federation as a result of the USSR's defeat. In the Treaty of Singapore, Hong Kong would be returned to the Pacific Front, & Chinese-occupied Singapore would remain neutral to both sides. Vietnam & Korea would both be partitioned into North & South.
Post-war, America gave financial & material aid in reconstruction efforts. President Michael Dugan Senior appointed Premier Alexander Romanov, the son of Princess Anastasia Romanov & a Communist figure who promoted peace, as the USSR's new leader.
After GWWII, Boris Volgin, the man who laundered the Philosophers' funds, monopolized their assets during the postwar chaos. The Philosophers' Legacy was dispersed & laundered through banks in countries across the world, including Switzerland, Austria, & Hong Kong. It would later fall into the hands of his son.

1955 CE: Due to political pressure, the Allies withdrew their forces from Russian territory. Premier Romanov had so far done everything to help recover his people & others. He developed a reputation as a staunch pacifist. Hundred of Soviet officers return to Moscow from hiding. Notably one of Stalin's closest correspondents only referred to in letters as "Cain" is absent despite neither being reported as MIA or KIA, having been confirmed to have fled with the other officials.
NORAD first established the NORAD Tracks Santa program.
The first successful liftoff of a Flying Platform in America began the development of the Rocketeer Program.
1957 CE: The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) was established to oversee peaceful as well as military applications of atomic power.
The USSR successfully launched the first intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM), the R-7.
The Kyshtym Nuclear Disaster in the Ural Mountains occurred. Elisa was caught in the nuclear fallout & was taken by PsiCorps, where she is subjected to ESP experiments. There, she developed her alternate personality, Ursula.

In secret, Zelinsky Fields would be weaponized by the Soviet government in tactical nuclear missiles, nuclear tanks, Irradiators, Desolators & Eradicators. The most devastating weapon would have been the MIDAS ICBM, which had intentionally not used Zelinsky Fields to be as devastating as possible.

The Boss abandoned Jack on a mission without explanation. She was called in to be part of a secret mission by the President to sabotage various Soviet projects & to participate in the Mercury Lady project by NASA.

The Soviets began testing the Shagohod's nuclear strike capability at Semipalatinsk.
President Johnson signed the Civil Rights Act.
The Boss used a Philosopher spy network & discovered that the Shagohod was near completion.
The Virtuous Mission had occurred. Naked Snake performed the world's first High Altitude Low Opening (HALO) jump & infiltrated Tselinoyarsk to rescue Nikolai Stepanovich Sokolov. Operation Snake Eater had occurred. Naked Snake infiltrated Tselinoyarsk again to rescue Sokolov, & destroyed the Shagohod.
He eliminated the Cobra Unit, Colonel Volgin & The Boss, & retrieve the Philosopher's Legacy. EVA infiltrated Volgin's ranks & offered assistance to Snake.
Operation Snake Eater was a success. Snake recovered the fake Philosopher's Legacy microfilm. EVA, an agent for China, stole the fake microfilm & brought it to China.

Ivan Raidenovitch Raikov was exiled to the San Hieronymo Peninsula & imprisoned in the Western Wilderness.
A Soviet spy stole blueprints to the Saturn V from NASA, which resulted in modifications to the silos at the San Hieronymo Peninsula Soviet missile base.
The CIA planned the transport of the Intercontinental Ballistic Metal Gear (ICBMG).
The San Hieronymo Incident had occurred. On CIA orders, Gene led FOX & hijacked the Intercontinental Ballistic Metal Gear during transport. Big Boss was captured by members of FOX & met Roy Campbell. Together, the pair set out to take down the FOX unit.
Big Boss defeated his old comrade Python in battle. Big Boss encountered Frank Jaeger, now a member of FOX, again in battle & rescued him. Big Boss & Roy Campbell met Elisa & discovered the plans for the ICBMG.
The San Hieronymo Incident had ended. Big Boss & Nikolai Stepanovich Sokolov destroyed Metal Gear RAXA. Gene fatally wounded Elisa. Elisa foresaw that one of Big Boss's sons would "bring the world to ruin", while the other would "save the world." Big Boss killed Gene, who gave him the funds he had amassed for "Army's Heaven". He destroyed the ICBMG before its activation.
Dr Clark "Para-Medic" established the first paramedic system in Seattle, US.
Ocelot accumulated the remainder of the Philosopher's Legacy for the US.
Major Zero formed the Patriots, dedicated to his interpretation of The Boss's Will. Ocelot joined the unit but stayed in the Soviet Union as an informant. Sigint, Para-Medic, & Big Boss composed the rest of the Patriots. Major Zero turned Big Boss into an idol & hero, to lead the world as a messiah-like figure.

1971 CE: The Soviet Union launched the Salyut-1, the world's first space station.
Carrying on the traditions of Major Zero & his FOX unit, Big Boss established FOXHOUND.
Big Boss rescued EVA from Hanoi. EVA joined the Patriots.
The Les Enfants Terribles project began. Zero & Para-Medic cloned Big Boss, with EVA as a surrogate, to preserve the Patriot's icon.
Big Boss became disillusioned with the Patriots.
1972 CE: ARPA was downsized & renamed DARPA.
The ABM Treaty was signed by the United States of America & the Soviet Union on the limitation of the anti-ballistic missile (ABM) systems used in defending areas against missile-delivered nuclear weapons.
Soviet Intelligence discovered the location of Volkov and Chitzkois bodies. The Allies withdrew from Eastern Europe, due to political pressure from various communist countries. An isolated Allied regiment possessed these bodies at an abandoned Soviet Tech Lab in East Ukraine.
A special operations squad consisting of Boris & Jose Rodrigo Morales was assembled. They eliminated the Allies and secured the Tech Lab. Boris & Morales loaded the packages into a truck & exfiltrated.

Sigint proposed that machines are best suited for information control, rather than complex decision-making.
MSF recovered Peace Walker's nuclear warhead from Lake Nicaragua & armed Metal Gear ZEKE with it. MSF became a nuclear power. Vladimir Zadornov was killed during an escape attempt on MSF's Mother Base. Paz, "Pacifica Ocean", hijacked ZEKE & offered Big Boss the choice to rejoin Zero's organization, Cipher. MSF was hired to assassinate Marine sniper duo Glaz & Palitz, at Camp Omega in Cuba. Big Boss, Kazuhira Miller, Morpho, & the medic posed for a photograph.
MSF was dispatched to Camp Omega to retrieve an Intel Team agent. The mission was necessitated because the agent was a vital member of the MSF. MSF, via an undercover agent, learned of classified intel on Cipher. That information revealed the Cipher-affiliated individual known as "Skull Face".
1975 CE: MSF was hired by the U.S. military to sabotage Camp Omega's anti-air defence turrets, due to suspicions that the base has been compromised.
Dr Strangelove resigned from MSF.
Huey Emmerich accepted an IAEA request for an inspection of Mother Base.
MSF discovered that Paz survived & was imprisoned at Camp Omega. Chico was captured, imprisoned & tortured by XOF after an attempted rescue of Paz. He gave XOF commander Skull Face information on MSF.
XOF planted C4 explosives on MSF's Mother Base. Under duress, Chico sent a bait SOS transmission for MSF. Big Boss commenced a lone infiltration. Paz revealed Zero's location to Skull Face & was implanted with two timer bombs.
Big Boss extracted Chico & Paz. XOF attacked Mother Base. Miller was extracted from Mother Base. Paz awakened & jumped into the ocean to prevent the bombs from killing Big Boss. Big Boss, Miller & the medic survived.
The survivors were taken to Colombia. Big Boss & the medic fell into comas. The incident reached Zero & he secured them in a Cyprus hospital under Ocelot's care.
The Vietnam War had ended in a stalemate.
Soyuz 19 and Apollo 18 docked in orbit. The GAN & WSA completed their first peaceful joint activity in space.
Skull Face was reassigned to Africa.
The vocal cord parasites were resurrected through reverse evolution.
1976 CE: The Les Enfants Terribles project was abandoned. Eli was taken to Great Britain. David & George were taken to the USA.
Skull Face, exploited the expertise of biotech specialist Code Talker, & infected Zero with harmful parasites. Zero suffered brain damage.
Zero delayed his deterioration with his connections & resources. He created an A.I. system that will survive him & carry on his will - a system later evolved into the Patriots. The groundwork for the A.I. was designed by Dr Strangelove.

A/N: I added Metal Gear into the mix of crossovers. I expanded upon the Solar System so I can give a better explanation for Demi-Humans.
I made the distinction between President Dugan, changing him from one character to a father and son. Because a) in the OTL Michael Dugan put Alexander Romanov in power, b) in the OTL he was President in 1972 & c) in Mental Omega he was President in 1982. I know President Dugan only showed up in Mental Omega because the in-game unit was readily available. I don't fault the Devs for that but it inadvertently brought up many questions. Which I just glossed over by making them Junior & Senior.

Guest1: I want the backstory to remain mostly intact, possibly add to it and mostly to fic tone issues I am aware of. I want to fix some plotholes and corners I wrote myself into, specifically with the First Contact. I am very happy with the overall design of this story I am very happy with it, I will keep to the First Contact AU story.
I also wanted to add more references to Tiberium in the rewrite. Where it influenced humanity for an era but afterwards just became a mundane fact of life, like how the Tiberium Control Network was irrelevant to GDI citizens in 'the game which never was'. Keep in mind, I will not introduce GDI and Nod as they are in the Tib Universe, as you need Kane for that.
Without Kane, there is no Brotherhood of Nod & without Nod, there is no GDI. The 'Black Hand' though, had already existed in this story & I will introduce the UNGDI into the rewrite.
Zsombi: I should have made it a bit clearer, that humanity & the Turians were in a similar situation of lax/bloated military apparatus. Where centuries of peace have led to complacency & inadequacy.
The Allies & Soviets defended structures for purely sentimental value in the past because they were in an era of the Cold War. It has been centuries since the GWWIII and the Mental Omega War, if they have any guards around, they are honour guards or policemen.
I suppose the Batarians being pirates, was a writing choice I made early on, which I now think is a mistake. I wanted a villain that wasn't a Council Race. So I chose Batarians. At the same time, I didn't want an all-out war in Council Space before Humanity showed up. So I downgraded the invading force from the Hegemony Navy to a pirate fleet.
The overreliance on Eezo is pretty interesting. I wrote it to be rare in Human Space in this AU. My original intention in this fic was that humanity & all their near-human cousins are survivors of a previous interstellar civilisation. One that intentionally scoured their sector of the galaxy of Eezo.
I do intend to introduce Tiberium as Humanity's own 'McGuffinite'. Tiberium is confirmed to be a terraforming agent used by the Scrin. I originally intended for the Scrin to be a constant threat. They are an extragalactic horde that will continue to come even after the Reapers are dealt with. The Scrin would have been the Tyranids just as the Reapers are like the Chaos Gods.
