Tohru jumped as lightening struck the ground. They have been sitting in the nurses office for hours.
There was still no sign of the nurse and Yuki was starting to lose his patience. "Where is she?". He wondered out loud.
Tohru began to offer to look for her when suddenly Kyo started to groaned turning his head to the side before slowly opening his eyes.
Yuki pushed himself away from the wall and stepped forward. "Kyo? Can you hear me?". Tohru asked. Kyo grunted pushing himself slowly up into a seating position.
"You shouldn't be getting up stupid cat"
. Kyo ignored him leaning back against the wall. He has never felt so tired in his life, his muscles ached, head throbbed painfully, and he was cold. "Maybe you should get some rest".
Tohru suggested watching as Kyo closed his eyes tiredly, his head leaning back against the wall. Yuki didn't like how heavy his breathing was, hell he didn't like any of this. Thunder roared loudly outside, lightening striking the ground too close to the window startling Tohru.
"Where are we?". Kyo asked his voice hoarse and almost too quiet to hear. Yuki eyes widened.
He could barely hear the other and it scared the hell out of him. He has never felt concern for the damn cat, not until that night Kyo transformed into his true form.
"Nurses office. You passed out remember?". Yuki responded. "You really scared us when you weren't responding.". Tohru said with worry.
Kyo nodded slowly and pushed away from the wall attempting to stand. He swayed dangerously however, his legs threatening to give out on him. He would of collapsed to the ground if it weren't for Yuki who caught him just in time.
"What are you doing?". Yuki asked annoyed. Kyo didn't respond. He couldn't, he felt too dizzy, too tired to respond back.
"Yuki... has the rain ever affected him this badly?". Yuki shook his head. Then again it never stormed this badly. "You should..". Before the rat zodiac had the chance to finish his sentence yelling came flooding down the halls. Yuki stood frozen. He sat Kyo down on the bed and quickly rushed towards the door trying his best to see what was happening. He looked back towards Tohru and Kyo.A part of him felt against leaving the two alone afraid of what would happen. It was obvious something serious was wrong with Kyo and whatever those screams were was not in the slightest a good sign.
Yuki walked up to the bed and grabbed Kyo's arm pulling it over his shoulder. "Can you walk?". Yuki asked. Kyo didn't respond his eyes squeezed shut. Yuki could feel him shivering. "Kyo?". He tried again slightly annoyed by the lack of response but more concerned if anything, not like he'd ever admit to that. "Come on lets see if we can find a way to get him home and get Hatori to check on him". Tohru nodded obviously worried. Tohru opened the door for them and followed behind Yuki down the hall. "Can we return to the classroom first. I left my stuff". Tohru spoke up nervously. Yuki glanced over his shoulder at her and nodded. It shouldn't take too long.
It took quite some time to get back to the being unable to support himself half the way however, eventually did regain some consciousness and pushed away from Yuki claiming to be able to walk on his own before being proven wrong when he nearly collapsed signed relieved when they finally arrived back to the classroom where they left the others Yuki gently leaned Kyo against the wall, his arms getting tired of holding him up.
"Ill be right back". Tohru said opening the door and running inside. Yuki sat down beside Kyo. "Now that she's gone, what's really wrong?". Yuki asked momentary surprising the other. Kyo however shook his head. "It's storming". He said simply closing his eyes and leaning the back of his head against the wall. Yuki nodded.' Maybe Im overreacting besides why do I even care? '. He wondered.
Yuki has been sitting there waiting patiently for 10 minutes. He wanted to go in there and check after five minutes but desires against it but now he was slightly glanced over to Kyo.
His head was leaned back against the wall fighting to stay awake as his eyelids drooped. He shook his head before getting up. "Ill be right back". He said walking in the classroom. He froze, his rat eyes seeming to appear on his face as he stared in complete shock.
Tohru jumped when she saw Yuki at the door. 'How did she forget about Kyo and Yuki'. She fell down onto her back eliminating herself from twister. "I'm sorry guys but I-I should be going. We really need to get Kyo back home". She said nervously her hands waving in the air and her eyes swirls. "How do you expect to leave in that?". Haru asked looking straight at Yuki.
He actually hadn't thought of that or how they were gonna get in contact with Hatori or Shigure. "Yeah What's the matter with orange top?is he alright? ". Arisa asked concerned. "He's... not feeling well". Yuki responded. "Did the nurse say what was wrong?".Hana asked feeling the odd waves roll off of Yuki. It seemed to her like he was hiding something. She could feel Kyo's weak waves outside the door. "No she wasn't there unfortunately". Tohru responded gathering her books. "How do we not know he's not pretending?". Arisa spoke up. She meant it more like a joke but a part of her wondered if he was pretending. "Guys? ". All of their heads turned towards the door where Kyo was leaning against the doorframe heavily, one arm wrapped around his middle.
The storm was only getting worse refusing to let up. The wind was so strong, several trees fell down, cars rocked back and forth making travel indefinitely too dangerous.
The ground was flooding with water. Lightening continued to strike the ground relentlessly. There he was leaning heavily against the doorframe one arm wrapped around his middle.
"Kyo?" Tohru questioned.
It was at that moment the power shut off, shredding the whole school into darkness. Screams could be heard from down the halls. Kyo flinched, his sensitive ears ringing. Yuki raced towards him as his hand slipped catching him just in time.
He leaned Kyo against the wall and peeked out the door. He couldn't see well but he thought he saw someone walking down the hall, he could only assume it was a teacher by how tall they was brought out of his thoughts as the intercom went off.
"Attention all students please remain calm. Due to severe weather we unfortunately cannot send you all home anytime soon we will be sending flashlights and blankets around however as we wait out this storm. We hope to regain power to alert parents and guardians of the unfortunate news, thank you". Arisa groaned.
"Great we are stuck here all night". "At least we all are together". Momojii responded brightly. "I don't care either way". Haru said.
"What about Kyo?". Tohru asked walking up to Yuki. Yuki frowned looking down at Kyo. He was pale, much too pale. He reached to lay a hand against his forehead somewhat relieved to find he had no fever. "I'm sure he'll be fine". Yuki reassured her. He had to keep reminding himself it was only the storm. Tohru nodded somewhat unsure.
Yuki leaned back against the wall beside Tohru and his mind drifted off to Machi. He was somewhat happy she didn't have to deal with this crap right now since she stayed home today. He wanted so badly to be in his room right now and damn it what about his and Tohru's secret garden? No doubt they were ruined. "Want to keep playing the game?". Momojii asked eagerly. They all signed. They might as well.
