Tohru yawned as she woke up. Opening her eyes slowly she stared at the ceiling somewhat confused.
Until the following events came rushing back to her. She quickly sat up. She looked around the room, everyone else was still fast asleep. It was still raining outside but luckily it seemed to have died down if only slightly which to Tohru seemed like good news.
'The storm should die down soon now'. She smiled to herself.
'Since everyone else is still asleep should I lay back down as well?'. She thought looking down into her lap when she heard a noise coming from near the door. She looked up just in time to see Kyo slip out of the room.
"Kyo?". She whispered.
Letting curiosity take over she stood up and followed after him. She started to shout out his name before quickly closing it.
She wasn't sure what time it was but it seemed like everyone else was still fast asleep by how empty and quiet the halls were.' I'll be as silent as a ninja'. She thought, smiling.
Kyo wasn't sure what compelled him to get out of the sleeping bag. It was still pouring out and he was really starting to feel sick.
Everything ached and it was getting increasingly more and more difficult not to collapse right here, but everyone was still asleep and for some reason he wanted to stretch his legs out.
Even though a really big part of him wanted to crawl back under the covers and sleep out this storm. 'How long is it supposed to storm like this anyway'. He inwardly groaned. He only made it down the hall to the staircase leading to the cafeteria before he had to stop and lean against the wall suddenly feeling dizzy.
"Woah". He grabbed his head as he leaned heavily against the wall.
"Damn rain". He muttered weakly wincing at the loud footsteps hurrying his way. Closed his eyes and tried to catch his breath. "Kyo?... kyo are you alright?".
He couldn't tell who it was, his head felt too fuzzy. He waved the hand away and slid down the wall.
He never felt this bad because of a storm, the worst he'd feel was tired and weak but for some reason this felt almost worse.
"Kyo''. The voice said louder. If he listened more closely he would have noticed whoever was calling out for him was panicking.
He groaned, grabbing his head. He could hear the voice faintly trying to get his attention but he couldn't focus. He squeezed his eyes shut.
His head was killing him, his stomach hurt and he barely had the strength to get up and walk back to the classroom. He had no clue if the person who found him was still here or if they left and he couldn't bring himself to wasn't sure how long he sat there before he felt hands grab onto his shoulders.
Finally gaining some strength he opened his eyes to see Yuki kneeling down in front of him looking at him... why does he look worried?.
"Is he gonna be okay?". He looked past Yuki to see Tohru standing not far behind. 'Was she the one who found me?'.
"Kyo?". He blinked. He didn't even realize he was talking until now. "Kyo.. can you hear me?". Yuki asked more urgently than before. Kyo nodded slowly, too tired to speak.
"We need to see now that the storm has dyed down now, if we can go home. Might have to call Hatori after all".
Yuki said his eyes never leaving Kyo's face. Tohru nodded. Kyo felt lost. Why would they need Hatori?. He wondered.
"Come on, can you get up?". Yuki asked, sitting up. Kyo snickered to himself and pushed himself up using the wall as support.
The minute however he was on his feet he nearly collapsed, leaning on the wall heavily Kyo took a deep breath trying to get his legs to stop shaking. Yuki signed before walking up to him and grabbing his arm and wrapping it over his shoulder.
Kyo wanted to push him away and yell at him for trying to help but he was too damn tired to fight the damn rat so he stayed quiet and allowed Yuki to help him back into his sleeping bag.
When they returned the others were awake and staring at the three as they walked in. Kyo looked away. Yuki helped him back into his sleeping back, shaking his head when Kyo instantly fell back to sleep. Tohru sat beside him while he slept.
They all just stared out the window occasionally starting conversation but for the most part. It's been about a week now, and the storm hasn't let up at all. Everyone was getting restless, being stuck at the school without power all just wanting nothing more than to go groaned sitting upside down against the wall.
"Do you have to do that?". Arisa askes annoyed, stuffing her face with the cafeteria food. "This really is a bummer". Momojio whined.
"I'm bored". Arisa muttered something under her breath, looking out the window. It was a mess. There were several tree's knocked to the ground, the roads were flooded and you could barely see how much it was raining, the wind definitely not helping.
"Stop complaining. This hurricane is obviously not going away anytime soon". Yuki said.
"Whatever when is the cat gonna wake up?. I want to fight". Haru asked.
Everyone in the room glanced over at Kyo. He hasn't woken up not once since they found him out of it in the hall that day, not that any of them (besides Tohru) would admit they were starting to get worried.
More so Arisa and Hana being the only ones unaware of Kyo's behavior when it rains. No one spoke, they all just sat there in silence staring at the board game they were in the middle of playing.
It was morning, the rain had finally died down some but the power was still out. Everything seemed calm and quiet until screams erupted in the stood frozen while Arisa ran to the door.
"Ari...".Tohru trailed off as Arisa raised her hand.
"Stay back Tohru".Gunshots could be heard from somewhere close could feel his heart beating sat close beside him remaining unnaturally calm. Momojii was in the corner unsure of what to do. He wanted so badly to be in Tohru's warm and safe arms but he couldn't as long as her friends were here.
"Please". Someone pleaded. "Please don't kill me". Their voice low and terrified.
Arisa couldn't move away from the was too scared if she did then whoever was right outside would kill them all as well.
She used to be fearless, now look at her. She laughed to herself. "Arisa?". Tohru asked.
She quickly looked over to the frightened girl then to Kyo. She locked the door and moved away to wrap the girl in her arms. "Haru help me move this bookshelf in front of the door".
Yuki said, rushing towards the bookshelf. "Wait you want us to trap ourselves in here?". Momjii asked.
"We can't just run away either". "Yeah we can. All we have to do is walk out". Haru responded. "The storm isn't that bad anymore, we should be able to run away". Arisa said. Yuki sighed. 'Do they really want to risk it'.
Yuki looked over at the window then to Kyo. 'Would going out there when he's like this a good idea? '. "Do you all rather make a break for it?". Arisa and Hana nodded.
"Tohru, Momiji?". They looked unsure. Everyone's attention was pulled over to the occupied sleeping bag. Kyo started to stir. "I want to go get help. I don't want to sit here anymore, when we can do something to help".
Tohru finally responded after awhile. Yuki sighed. He ran a hand through his hair before smiling at her and moving away from the bookshelf. "Okay then we better get going then".
Arisa pulled Tohru up and motioned Hana to come closer. Tohru was hesitant to leave Kyo's side but allowed her friends to move her away when she saw Yuki and Haru. Yuki knelt down and shook Kyo's shoulder.
"Kyo''. "Is he dead?". Haru asked. "He's been asleep for a long time. I think he's dead". Yuki rolled his eyes, ignoring him and continued to shake the cat zodiac awake.
Kyo slowly opened his eyes before shooting into a sitting position. "Wha-". He was cut off by a coughing fit.
Yuki rubbed his back and quickly glanced at the door. He hoped that whoever was outside wasn't still there. Haru being Haru opened the door and glanced outside catching Yuki's nervous glance.
There was no one outside but one girl who was obviously shot and killed. He closed the door and gave Yuki the thumbs up.
"All clear". Yuki stared at him dumbstrucked.
'Did he really just?'. He rubbed the bridge of his temples feeling a headache coming along before focusing back on Kyo. He was breathing heavy.
"Come on let's go". He helped him up.
"Don't need your help". He pushed away and leaned against the wall stubbornly. "What happened?".
"You've been asleep for days after they found you passed out in the hall". Hana replied. "We need to hurry and get out of here, we don't have time to stall". Arisa said walking towards the door holding Tohru's hand.
Kyo looked confused. Eyebrows furrowed and his mouth pulled into a frown. He watched with dazed eyes as Momjii and Haru walked out behind the girls and into the hallway.
"Come on". Yuki said.
Kyo slowly turned his head. He was so tired. "Ye... yeah okay".
Kyo pushed off of the wall and followed slowly behind the others. Arisa stayed in front leading everyone safely through the halls.
It was fairly quiet until they reached the stairs. They couldn't believe their eyes. He was incredibly tall, he had long brown hair and he was looking straight at them as he held the gun at the terrified group of students on the floor in front of him. "Looks like I forgot a few". He smiled.
