Hatori ended having to go to Shigures when the weather began to pick up after that was a blur. Yuki sat down on the couch beside Tohru who was cradled in Arisa and Hana's arms. Haru was sitting by the door beside Momjii who had calmed quite a bit. Yuki turned his attention to the floor clenching and clenching his fists subconsciously. He was uncomfortable, feeling over taking him while he sat there waiting anxiously for someone to tell him everything was gonna be alright. It's only been about 2 hours but for all of them it felt like an eternity.
"Yuki?". Tohru whispered hoarsely. His head snapped up to meet her worried gaze. He frowned. Her eyes were red and puffy from crying. "Yes". He responded shakily. "Will... Will Kyo be alright?". She asked breaking away from Arisa and Hana.
Yuki froze at that question looking away for a moment. He wasn't sure, should he lie? Or would it be a lie? Would Kyo be okay?.
He turned back to Tohru and gave her a reassuring smile though it was a bit strained. "Yes Mrs Honda nothing can take down that dumb cat". She nodded, smiling for a moment,determination setting across her features. She had to remain strong for Kyo. What kind of friend would she be if she just sat here and cried. She would believe in Kyo's strength and be there for him.
Yuki smiled a little at the sparkle in the girl's eyes as she wiped away her tears. A few hours passed by in silence, it was still storming.
Momjii jumped startled when lightning struck the ground from close by. His little Bunny ears popping up. Haru was heading to the kitchen when Shigure finally came down the steps. His eyes widened when they all moved quickly in front of him.
Before any of them could get a question out he lifted his hand and silenced them. "I'll answer all of your questions but first I must make a call". He said moving away towards the phone with a serious expression on his face.
Tohru waited patiently playing with her fingers watching Arisa and Hana try to eavesdrop. Yuki signed heavily. He was anxious. He needed to know how the damn cat was doing do he could kill him later. Why did he save him. That one question weighing heavily on his mind.
That bullet was meant for him so why? Didn't he hate him?. Didn't he know how Tohru felt about him? If he died...Yuki cursed under his breath. So as soon as Shigure returned he was the first person to ask. Shigure stepped back startled. He wasn't expecting him to be the one to ask but he smiled and answered anyway luckily with no annoying tease which didn't make Yuki feel any better.
"He's still alive". Shigure answered. "What's that? Was that supposed to answer his question?.We need more than that old man". Arisa snapped. Shigure closed his eyes for a moment as in thought before reopening them and looking at them all. "He lost a lot of blood and is very Ill. I'm afraid but he's okay for now. I made a call to make sure Hatori gets the things he needs in order to keep Kyo stable". "Can... can we see him?". Tohru asked. "Yes I'm sure that's fine but only two of you for now".
They reached exchanged looks. "You and Yuki go ahead". Arisa said. Tohru looked back at her with wide eyes. "Are.. are you sure. If any of you want to go see him then I". Hana held her hand out interrupting her. "Yes our child. We don't mind". She looked over to Haru and Momjii who both nodded. "Okay". "Okay now that's settled I'll lead the way". Shigure said cheerfully.
The two followed Shigure up the stairs towards Kyo's room. "Is he?". Yuki asked as Shigure started to open the door. "No. Surprisingly he's still in his human form despite the strain his body is obviously in". Shigure opened the door and stepped inside moving out the way for the two. He closed the door behind him and stood there watching as Hatori placed the wet rag back over Kyo's face. Tohru immediately raced to Kyo's side while Yuki stayed by the door.
Kyo looked horrible. He was pale,his face covered in sweat, . Yuki caught sight of the bloody sheets that were thrown carelessly on the floor. Tohru grabbed his hand rubbing small circles over his palm. "You can get closer Yuki he won't bite". Shigure teased.
Yuki turned around and glared before cautiously stepping closer to the bed. Hatori placed a new wet rag back over Kyo's forehead before moving so Yuki could take a seat gesturing Shigure to follow. Yuki squirmed in his seat suddenly feeling restless. He stared down at the floor until he heard a groan from the bed drawing his attention. Tohru quickly sat up in her seat quietly coaxing Kyo awake.
He opened his eyes slowly before squeezing them shut. "Kyo?". Tohru started. "B-bright". He responded weakly. Yuki's eyes widened before nodding to himself and flipping the lights off and closing the blinds to make the room extra dark. Tohru smiled up at Yuki.
This was the first time he did anything for Kyo. It made her believe that maybe they can get along even if it was a small gesture she wanted to keep grasp of that small hope. "You can open your eyes now kyo". Tohru whispered. She watched anxiously as Kyo slowly opened his eyes.
They were different. They weren't the same fierce red eyes as before. They were dull, almost lifeless. Yuki and Tohru both looked at one another with the same concerned expression. Yuki couldn't deny it anymore he was definitely worried.
He has always been worried since this storm first started but now he couldn't deny the teens could open their mouths to speak Kyo's eyes suddenly went wide and he shot up into a seating position.
He cried out in pain wrapping his arms around his abdomen and following back onto the sheets. His face paler and his breathing rapid. Yuki cursed under his breath. "Stupid cat". Tohru stared wide eyed. "K-kyo are you okay?Do you want me to get Hatori?I'm gonna get 'll be okay I promise I'll be right back". Yuki watched as Tohru frantically ran out of the room.' She didn't even give you time to respond'. Yuki thought.
He stared awkwardly at the wall before turning back to Kyo. His eyes were still closed and his breathing was getting even more heavy. "H-hey are you alright?". Yuki asked nervously.
Kyo didn't respond which worried Yuki more. He started to speak again when he noticed Kyo shake his head slowly. "Hatori's...". He trailed off when Kyo suddenly groaned and curled up into a ball. Yuki stood up when he saw something soaking through the sheets.
