Hi sorry for the long wait I got my laptop taken away and had no way to post. I also want to go ahead and let you all know that I won't be continuing this story but don't worry I do plan on rewriting it soon. I feel like I could have written this much better and honestly don't know where to go from here so I'm going to rewrite it.

Shigure had seen Yuki rush past him as he was walking up with the soup but didn't bother to stop him and find out what happened when Hatori started shouting his name a second later. After that, no one was allowed into Kyo's room for a while. Yuki mostly kept to his room during that time and stared at the embarrassed, mostly embarrassed about running out as he did. He wasn't sure if he could face Kyo again but he would because he had to find out. He had to find out why Kyo saved him. That was the only thing pushing himself towards facing Kyo again.

It wasn't until a week later when they were finally allowed to see Kyo again. During that time Tohru wasn't her normal cheerful self. Her smile was forced and her eyes weren't as bright. She was worried sick about Kyo, the fear of him dying weighing on her mind as the days went by.

He didn't realize just how much this had affected them too. They all were still downstairs all settled somewhere in front of the TV when Shigure came downstairs. They often found the man either in his office or upstairs with Kyo and Hatori these past weeks since the accident.

However, only one of them was allowed to visit him tonight. Shigure never explained why and no one asked. As much as Yuki wanted answers and to apologize for running out he didn't offer to go first. He just sat down on the couch staring at this lap as everyone else exchanged glances. "Tohru, you should go we all know how worried you are about him. Let me and Hana know how he's doing for us when you get back". She looked up wide-eyed. "A-are you all sure. If anyone else". "It's fine you should be the first one he see's". Haru interrupted. She looked around and everyone nodded. "Alright then If that's settled come along Tohru".

She walked slowly up the stairs pausing in front of the door when Hatori stepped out. "He's asleep right now so make sure not to wake him. If you need me I'll be in across the room in Shigure's room taking a nap". Tohru nodded watching as he left. "I'll be downstairs in my office if you need me as well". "Okay.. thank you". He nodded walking off.

She turned towards the door and took a deep breath before pushing the door open and stepping inside. Closing it slowly behind her. The blood-covered sheets have been removed from the corner. She closed her eyes before focusing on the still figure on the bed.

She walked slowly towards the chair beside his bed and sat down. His face was pale and sweaty, and his breathing sounded heavy and labored. She nervously grabbed Kyo's hand and started crying. She couldn't help it.

Seeing him look so weak and sick reminded her of her father. She didn't want Kyo to die... she... she. She shook her head. Kyo was important, she cared about him a lot. She couldn't imagine what life would be like without him. She tried so hard to find a way to break the curse to free him so he could be happy. He deserved to be happy. To be happy with all of them... with her. Tears streamed down her face wetting the side of the bed. She clung desperately to Kyo's hand.

She was so lost in her thoughts, in her grief she didn't notice Kyo starting to stir. "Your such a crybaby... you know that?". A shaky weak voice said. She immediately opened her eyes and looked over to see Kyo awake staring up at her. She giggled wiping away her tears. "Why?". "Ah.. it's nothing". She responded. She reached over and moved his sweaty hair away from his forehead. "How are you feeling?".Kyo closed his eyes briefly before erupting into another coughing fit before he could even speak. Tohru stood up alarmed slightly panicking. She didn't know what to do. "Do you want me to get Hatori?". She asked. "N-no... I'm fine". His voice was hoarse. She looked unsure "Do you want some water?".

Kyo watched her for a moment as she stared worriedly at him. He closed his eyes. His limbs felt heavy and he was exhausted. It was still pouring outside albeit not as bad as yesterday but either way, it wasn't helping with his current situation.

He tried to shift into a more comfortable position forgetting about his wound until a stabbing hot pain quickly reminded him. He cried out, eyes squeezed shut and breathing heavy. He could hear the scrape of a chair somewhere close by. "Omg. Are you okay? Should... should I get someone I". He opened his eyes and met her's. She lowered herself closer to him. "Are you okay?". He merely nodded before slumping further into the sheets. "I'll get you a glass of water I'll be right back". He watched her leave his eyes never leaving the door as he waited for her return.

There was something about her that seemed to melt all of his anger away in an Instant. The way when something made her smile he was willing to do it over and over again. The way his name sounded special whenever she said it. The way being around her made him feel warm and happy.

He loved her with every fiber of his body but... he couldn't be with her. No matter how much he wanted to just pull her into his arms and never let go. He hated being so close yet feeling so far away from her. His destiny was already set in stone. Right now he was just waiting counting off the days before he was taken away and thrown into a cage where he will rot away.

That's why... that's why he couldn't allow himself to love her. He can't be loved by anyone, and he can't allow himself to yet here he was, wanting to spend every waking moment by her side until that day. His mind was in a never-ending battle, Akito's words running through his mind like a broken record constantly reminding him of what everyone sees's him as. Nothing but a worthless monster. Everyone he comes to contact with ends up suffering because of him, the cat. Hated and exiled by the other zodiac. He didn't deserve to live.

He was the reason Tohru was without her mom. He pushed his own mother to kill herself. She was so afraid but she pretended to be strong for him, pretended to love him until she couldn't any longer. "She would still be alive if she would have given birth to the rat".

Kyo spent his whole life resenting the rat. He wanted someone to blame for everything, for his suffering, for his mother's death. So he decided to place his hatred towards Yuki vowing to defeat him so he could be a part of the zodiac family. Now as he laid there in bed he started to question his hatred for Yuki.

He took a bullet for the damn rat without even thinking twice. Normally he wouldn't give a damn about what happened to him yet he made sure Yuki didn't get hurt. As tired and sick as he felt he risked his own life for the rat. Was it for him? Or did he secretly hope that he would die?. He wasn't sure and he was much too tired to care right now.

He signed in relief when Tohru returned saving him from his heavy thoughts. He tried pushing himself into a sitting position but his body was far too heavy and tired to move. He winced as he jostled his wound. Tohru's eyes widened as she moved to help. Her face full of worry and her hands hovering over him nervously, unsure of what to do.

She eventually snaked an arm gently around his waist and helped him up enough for her to bring the cup of water to his lips. He glared at the cup. He didn't like this. He hated feeling weak, having others help him like this. It was embarrassing, besides, why would anyone want to help the cat. He closed his eyes before letting her lift the cup to his lips. He signed in relief as the cool substance slid down his dry throat. "You should get some rest, you look tired". Tohru whispered.

She frowned as she noticed his eyes drooping. He was still pale and with this storm still going on outside she was afraid for Kyo, the rain always made him tired and feeling unlike himself. She feared with how the weather has been lately how it would affect him. She didn't want to watch him suffer like this any longer. His wound was healing slowly and according to Hatori it probably was because of the weather.

She helped Kyo back down onto the bed careful to not hurt him. By the time his head hit the pillow, he was fast asleep. She sat back down and smiled sadly at Kyo. She grabbed his hand using her other to run her fingers through Kyo's sweaty hair as he slept. "Please be okay ". She whispered. "I can't lose you too". Silent tears fell from her until she was carried to unconsciousness right beside Kyo.

Haru was the first to wake up that morning. The sky was still dark and cloudy but it finally had stopped raining for the meantime. He could tell it wasn't for long, however. He turned until he was looking at Momiji who was still curled up fast asleep by the door.

Arisa and Hana sleeping nosily on the couch, the TV still on. He walked over and switched it off deciding to head upstairs to check on Kyo before Hatori or Shigure wake up. He hadn't seen the cat zodiac since they got here and he was starting to wonder how he was doing. It was quite unusual that he moved in front of that bullet to protect Yuki. He had half a mind to think it was more of a suicide attempt than wanting to protect Yuki.

He walked up the stairs silently and headed for Kyo's room. When he walked in he noticed Tohru was fast asleep, her head resting on the bed beside her's and Kyo's entwined hands. He smirked before looking over to Kyo and frowning again. He was really pale and his face was covered in sweat.

He could hear his heavy breathing as well. Closing the door silently behind him he walked closer making sure not to wake them up. He leaned against the wall staring down at the couple. He closed his eyes. "Idiot". He muttered. He didn't want to leave anytime soon so he simply sat down on the floor by Kyo's bed. He didn't care at this point if he got caught.

He closed his eyes and was close to the brink of unconsciousness when he heard the footsteps of someone entering the room. He peeked over the sheets surprised to find Yuki sneaking into the room.

He looked panicked as he closed the door behind him. Letting out a deep breath before turning his attention to the unmoving figures on the bed. Haru raised an eyebrow in amusement as Yuki didn't seem to notice him. He just stared with a blank expression on his face as he eyed Tohru and Kyo.

Yuki lowered his head smiling softly muttering underneath his breath. "They are so clueless". He took another deep breath willing himself to move closer before lifting his head to only scared half to death when Haru's face was suddenly inches from his. Haru quickly covered his mouth and shook his head. "You'll wake them up". Yuki stared back at him in confusion before smacking the hand away. "When? ... how? What?". He tried but couldn't get the words to form. "I came to check on Kyo". He replied simply.' Well... I figured that's. Yuki thought, feeling embarrassed and stupid.

Haru tilted his head slightly. "You didn't get sick did you? You're starting to look red". Yuki 's head shot up before he shook his head. "No... no I'm fine". Haru stared at him for a moment his face expressionless before he grabbed Yuki's wrists and dragged him over to Kyo's side. "W-what are you doing?". "You came to talk to him didn't you?". Before Yuki could respond Haru let go of his wrist and started to gently shake Kyo awake. Yuki's eyes widened. "N-no stop. Don't wake him up". However, it was too late.

Yuki rubbed his temples in annoyance as Haru shook Kyo awake. Watching anxiously as Kyo slowly came to. He groaned in obvious discomfort before slowly opening his eyes to stare at the ceiling. Tohru was still luckily asleep. "Kyo". Haru called but Kyo made no sign of hearing him. Yuki was about to speak up and suggested leaving the room when Haru leaned forward over Kyo's face to gain his attention.

"You awake?". Haru asked snapping his fingers repeatedly in Kyo's face.

The boy however remained unresponsive. Yuki stared down at him worried. "Maybe it would be best if we got Hatori. He doesn't look so good and he's not responding".

Haru stood back and glanced over at Yuki before turning his attention back to Kyo. "I got it". He replied before moving back to shake the cat out of his stupor.

Yuki sighed rubbing his temples when he heard a groan come from the bed. He looked up expecting to see Tohru waking up but instead Kyo was sitting up with the help of Haru.

He stood there unsure of what to do. Kyo blinked his eyes rapidly lifting a hand to his wound with a grimace.

Tired and in pain he closed his eyes and leaned his head against the wall. Yuki wasn't sure if he noticed them there or was just too tired to care so he cleared his throat in hopes to gain his attention.

Kyo remained still for several long minutes his loud labored breathing filling the empty and too quiet room before slowly opening his scarlet eyes to meet Yuki's dark grey one's. "What?". He asked weakly holding back a yawn.

"He wants to know why you saved him from that bullet". Haru stated bluntly.

Yuki looked away feeling embarrassed. Well, there was no backing down now. The question was already out there now he just had to sit back and wait for Kyo to respond back and hope this doesn't end in their usual fights.

Kyo signed closing his eyes. "Because". Yuki blinked.' Because what?'. He waited a moment for him to continue but when it was clear he wasn't getting one he opened his mouth to get an answer when Tohru started to stir.

She looked around the room with confusion evident on her face before her eyes brightened and smiled up at them. "Good morning". They all returned her warm greeting with a smile and a good morning all but Kyo who looked ready to pass out again.

Yuki turned around to look out the window. 'It wasn't raining... yet he seems so unlike... well himself '.

"What are you all doing in here?". She asked kindly. "Oh... not that I don't want you here b-because I do but didn't". She replied frantically pausing and was getting ready to continue but Kyo stopped her. "Take a breather before you end up running out of air". She smiled up at him. "How are you feeling?". She asked her hand still entwined with his. Both are not bothered by the small gesture of affection.

Kyo smiled back at her weakly squeezing her hand as much as his strength allowed. "Don't worry about me. I'll be fine". She looked unsure but nodded. "I'm gonna go downstairs and start on breakfast do you need anything until I get back?". "I'm okay". She squeezed his hand before sitting up and leaving the room quietly. Kyo turned back to the other two in the room.

"I want an actual answer". Yuki said crossing his arms. Haru just leaned against the wall and watched. Kyo signed moving his arm across his eye. "Fine, I'll tell you if you promise to leave me alone". "Deal".
