Miko and Monk
Chapter 11
That night Miroku had a dream.
'He was standing between two figures trying to break up a fight or disagreement of some sort. They grew more aggressive. Kagome can be heard crying. His staff drops as he runs to her to protect her. They fall backwards into a blackness. They held on to each other. A hand reaches out but he grabs the beads bursting it apart with a few in his hand.'
Miroku wakes up screaming and sweating.
Door slams open "Miroku! What's going on! Are you ok?" Kagome runs towards him followed by her mama and Souta.
Miroku realizes where he is at. "I am sorry. I had a bad dream but it felt so real."
Ami went over to Miroku drying his sweat with her handkerchief "try not to think about it too much. You need to rest." as she patted his knee.
"Come on Souta back to bed." (Door closes.)
"Let me get you a glass of water,"
Miroku grabbed Kagome's hand. "Don't leave me...please" she felt him shaking.
Kagome nodded and slid next to him on the bed and laid his head on her lap but still held on to her hand. Kagome gently caressed Miroku's hair and was humming soothingly. His eyes started to get heavy and he fell back to sleep.
There were no more bad dreams that night.
The following morning...The sun started to rise and peek into the room.
Miroku woke up with a pair of arms wrapped around him from behind. He easily shifted himself over to find Kagome fast asleep in his bed. 'She stayed with me and didn't leave my side.' (Gentle caress her face.) 'Even when she sleeps, she's beautiful. The sunlight makes her look like she's glowing. Definitely the powerful pure miko that she is.' Miroku gently pulls Kagome into his chest holding her. 'I wish I can stay like this forever.'
Kagome started to stir and open her eyes. (Stretches.)
"Good morning miko. Did you sleep well?" Miroku gave a slight smile.
"Good morning monk. Yes I did. I was quite comfortable. Wait...why are you in my bed?" Kagome brows started to furrow.
"My dear miko. You are the one in my bed."
"Oh my god! I am so sorry! I must have fell asleep" as she tried to scramble away but Miroku pulls her in closer "it's perfectly fine. Nothing happened. Thank you for staying with me." Kagome calms down and settles back.
"Here I was thinking the pervy monk was misbehaving" giggling.
"It seems someone wants me to misbehave!" laughing back.
The laughter died down and they were staring at each other. Miroku tightened his hold on Kagome pushing her more into his body. They moved in for a soft kiss on the lips, stopped smiled and then a deep passionate kiss that sent heat in their touching bodies.
After a few minutes, they stopped for air and looked at each other with desire for more. 'You stupid monk! What did you do! Now she will definitely call you a pervert and hate you!' Miroku pulled away realizing he should not have kissed Kagome.
"What's wrong?" Kagome quickly sat up. 'Crap! I kissed my best friend's boyfriend! What was I thinking!' Kagome quickly turned to get up but Miroku grabbed her wrist.
"I am sorry. I did not mean for that to happen. I took advantage of a weak moment between us. Forgive me." Miroku had anguish in his face.
"Miroku, I cannot blame you since I enjoyed that kiss as well. I was weak too. Let us forget it, ok." Miroku let go of Kagome and she left the room. 'Why is this happening to me? What are these feelings that I can't control.' Miroku picked up the pillow Kagome was sleeping on and smelled her lingering scent of strawberries. Kagome was leaning on her bedroom. 'Why is this happening to me? What are these feelings that I can't control.'
