It happened about a month into their stay. They had managed to keep their cover so far. Rachel had already left, she could only stay a couple of days, and Piper had left a few days after.

Strangely enough, the hunters were still at camp, much to the displeasure of everyone.

Things were going great. Charlie and Sophia had both made some friends, no one else knew their secret, so Charlie decided to relax. Big mistake there. It was dinner time when it happened, so everyone was there.

Charlie was talking with Xavier, one of the Athena kids, about old school assignments when he heard conversations around the pavilion stop. He turned around to see what was wrong, and immediately wished he didn't.

A husk of what Charlie assumed used to be a boy was stumbling towards the pavilion. His eyes were colorless orbs, his skin a pale yellow. His hair had mostly fallen out, and what little remained was almost white. His clothes were in tatters and stained with blood.

He-no… it stopped at the edge of the pavilion. It opened its mouth to reveal a couple of yellow, decaying teeth. When it spoke, it spoke in a deep baritone that was definitely not it's own.

"BRING THE CHILDREN OF THE JACKSONS TO MOUNT OTHRYS OR THE 2 GREATEST HEROES OF OLYMPUS WILL DIE. YOU HAVE 3 WEEKS." Its mouth didn't move the entire time it talked.

When it was done, it crumbled into dust. Everyone just stared at the place where the thing was standing.

Adam broke the silence first. "Sooo…. Anyone know who the children are?" He aimed a pointed look at Charlie while he said that. Most people shook their heads or looked confused.

Charlie looked at Sophia. She looked nervous. He moved his gaze to Thalia. She was giving him a hard look that seemed to say 'you better go and get them, or I'll kill you myself.'

Chiron spoke up. "Does anyone have any information that would be able to help us know who they are talking about?"

"I do" a new voice said. Everyone turned their heads to see Piper standing there with a disgruntled-looking man in dark clothes. Piper nudged him. "Come on, speak up Nico." Her voice was laced with charm speak.

He grumbled something inaudible before speaking loud enough for everyone to hear. "They are talking about Percy and Annabeth Chase-Jackson's children."

Everyone was stunned into silence, Charlie and Sophia included. How did he know about them?

Nico kept talking. "Before they disappeared, they told me that they had gotten married during the summer in between their sophomore and junior year. They also told me that Annabeth was pregnant." Some people gasped and others started talking to their neighbors.

"Did you know about that?" Xavier whispered to Charlie. Charlie tilted his head. "No idea."

Nico waited for silence before continuing. "They moved to Alaska. They had a second child and I visited them from time to time, but they moved about 6 years ago. I don't know why. Obviously, they've been captured, but by whom I don't know."

It was silent after that. Charlie looked at Sophia. He shook his head slightly. She nodded. After a minute of silence, Chiron spoke again, "Alright. I think it's time for a game of capture the flag! Everyone go."

After a moment's hesitation, everyone slowly got up and headed for the forest.

About 2 hours later, everyone was moving towards the cabins. The Hunters had won, again, but it was close. Charlie had helped strategize, and it had helped, however, the Hunters were too good.

As he was walking to the Athena cabin, Charlie heard someone run up behind him. He turned and was surprised to see Prescilla.

"Hey!" she called, "great game, right?" she asked.

Charlie nodded. "I guess. It could've been better. We could've sent some people onto the other flank to protect it better or-"

She cut him off. "Stop. you did your best." that made Charlie blush. He quickly turned his head so she couldn't see.

"Thanks," he replied.

They walked in silence for a bit. It was nice. Eventually, they arrived at the Athena cabin.

Charlie turned to Prescilla. "Guess this is my stop."

She nodded. "Yeah, I guess it is."

They stayed like that for a minute before Xavier walked over.

"Hey! Charlie! That was a great… game…" he faltered as he saw charlie. "Oh. Am I… interrupting?"

Charlie and Prescilla both shook their heads quickly. "Nope. I was just leaving." Priscilla said.

She smiled slightly at Charlie before fast-walking towards the Hecate cabin.

Xavier cringed. "Sorry."

"It's fine. Nothing was happening anyway." Charlie assured him. It might have been convincing if he wasn't also trying to convince himself.

Xavier didn't look convinced. "Whatever you say, man. Let's go inside." Charlie nodded and followed him inside.

Charlie woke to a soft knocking at the door. He got up silently and carefully walked to the door. He opened it and saw Sophia.

She frowned when she saw him. "Why aren't you ready yet?" he was confused until he saw what she was wearing.

She was dressed in dark clothing with her hair in a bun and a backpack on her shoulder. Like she was ready to leave.

"I am ready actually," he told her. She raised an eyebrow. "I just haven't gotten dressed yet. Let me do that real quick."

He closed the door and quickly changed into dark clothing. He grabbed his backpack, which he had packed before going to sleep, and walked out the door.

They made their way towards the border of camp. Once they left the borders, Charlie called Mrs. O'Leary. She bounded over to him and he climbed on.

"Alright, Mrs. O'Leary?" she tilted her head, "take us as close as you can to Mount Othrys." The effect was immediate. Mrs. O'Leary started shaking and pawed the ground.

Charlie realized where this was going. He opened his mouth to reassure her, but it was too late. She bucked them off and jumped into a shadow.

Sophia looked at him. "Good job. Now, we have no ride."

Charlie sighed. "Actually, we might."

Sophia looked at him. "But I thought you said you didn't want her involved."

"I didn't want her involved if we could help it. But we need transportation."

"Alright. Let's go." They walked about 3 steps before Sophia stopped. "Wait… where does she live?"

Charlie stopped. He slapped his forehead. "Ugh. I don't know." he hesitated, "But I know someone who does."

Sophia glared at him. "You don't mean…?"

Charlie nodded. "I know I said I didn't want her involved, but I don't see another option."

Sophia stared at him for a minute. "Dad won't be happy when he finds out."

Charlie gritted his teeth. "He won't know unless you tell him. And if you tell him, I'll tell him who set the kitchen on fire that one time."

Sophia growled. "Fine. let's go see grandma sally."

As they walked off, neither felt the presence of their watcher. The watcher was confused. Who was grandma sally? And why were they reluctant to bring her in? Why were they interested in the Jacksons? And who was their father?

All questions the watcher intended to get answered. They gathered up their supplies and followed the siblings from a distance. 'I will get answers' they thought.
