A/N: Spoliers coming ahead of my current novel "The Manhattan Project." You have been warned!

It was an open plain where hundreds of Pokémon were laying down from, disappointed with the attack that they launched ended in failure. A shadow was zooming across the grass floor and decided to hang himself on the bark of a tree. It was then when three Pokémon approached him.

"You didn't need to bring him." An Inteleon crossed his arms while giving the shadow what looked like a death stare. "You making the decision to bring him to our base, and finding out exactly what we were planning is what screwed us up in the first place."

The shadow could be seen tilting his head making it seem like he was confused. "I don't understand, wasn't that our plan from the beginning? Finding the strongest Pokémon around? Convincing him or her that our ideas are more logical than friendship, passion, and will combined?" He was circling around the other two Pokémon in the room, an Obstagoon and a Salazzle.

"I don't think you understood what our 'leader' is saying." The Salazzle moved forward while pushing the Water type out of the way. "Humans are not stronger than Pokémon. They never will be. So I suggest you choose another Pokémon that's not a human-turned-Pikachu who has blue eyeballs, for Arceus sake!"

The Dark type decided to ignore the current insult she gave him, and went back to the tree he rested upon. "Then what exactly are you saying...," He asked the three of them. "Obstagoon?"

The Obstagoon blinked a couple of times before stepping forward. He didn't dare touch Salazzle, unless he wanted a death wish times a thousand. "Sir might I suggest we try Universe Two for this strongest Pokémon? Minus those creatures from Unova, they don't know anything about our attacks for what we believe is right..."

After a quick grumble and some thought, he eventually obliged. "Okay fine. I'm transporting you to Galar to recruit new Pokémon and maybe defeat some trainers devastatingly quick."

The Inteleon grinned before saluting the shadow. "Thank you sir! We won't let you down." He glanced at his "team members." The two realized what was going on before giving off fake smiles back at them.

"Good..." A pair of blue eyes glowed on where the shadow was, intensifying every second. "Because you'll never disappoint me again!" A burst of dark energy was launched towards the three Pokémon, making an explosion inevitable. Every other Pokémon turned around to see the shadow's doing. "Had to consider them rouges... I'll send someone later on to make them suffer; New York was only a setback." A Darkrai eventually came out of the hole, his eyes burning with blue flames.

"Swampert...! Bring up the rest of our soldiers!"
