Journal Entry #2

Okay, it's night time now, so I might as well explain what happened. In the train, I was able to find a perfect spot in a cart where no one could interrupt me when I released Grookey, my new starter. He could be seen gasping for air, making it seem like he hated being in that device. It would be confirmed when he frantically started yelling out of nowhere.

"I swear to Arceus, Sonia! If you put me in that Pokéball again, I will—..." Grookey looked up to notice my blank expression. "Oh. I guess you're my new trainer..." It seemed like he wasn't enthusiastic about me...

"You know, if you don't wanna be in the Pokéball, I won't force you." I decided to put the Pokémon holder away, knowing I wasn't gonna need it for now.

My partner immediately started blinking in confusion of my current statement. "Was that an assumption, or did you hear every word I just said?" I let out a grin and told him the latter was the truth. "Right... If you can hear me, say 'you're stupid' to five people in the next cart over."

I let out a groan as I pointed at five people in the distance. "You're stupid. You're stupid. You're stupid. You're stupid. You're stupid..." I walked back to the Grookey to cross my arms. "Believe me now?"

"...Okay, I'll bite. How is this even possible?"

Now we were talking. I decided to reach into my pocket to grab the very same green orb necklace I mentioned in my last entry and show it off. "It's all because of this doohickey." Before Grookey had a chance to say anything about it, I hung the orb on my neck and started to clench it tightly.1

Leaves started sprouting out of nowhere as I started glowing a bright green. Grookey cringed at the light before it faded as quickly as it appeared. My eyes opened, noticing the bigger view I had in the world than as a human. I decided to look at the reflection window, and notice the dark green leaves on my ears and tail. "Huh, it actually worked. I thought I was gonna be out of range from Unova."

I was a shiny Leafeon again.

My partner just stood there, gripping his stick tightly. He carefully poked me on the side, startling back when he realized it was real fur. "What the? How... Are you a Pokémon disguised as a human?!"

"It's the other way around, actually." I looked down to make sure the orb turned into a tan before starting to explain. "About a year ago, I met an Eevee from another world; she was weak from the dimensional travel that I decided to take care of her."

"Wait, another world?" The Grookey suddenly seemed interested in my backstory enough that he sat down on the table. "I sorta believe you, but how many of these 'worlds' are there?"

"...More than I actually know." I had to explain that there were three major universes: this one called Universe Two, a world where there was only Pokémon called Universe Three, and a world with only humans, called Universe One. "There's also some minor universes that creatures don't know about. For example, my team in Universe Three met a Pichu named Volt, and he lives in a world where only Pokémon live in, but the land format are the regions of this world."

I assumed that was too much to take in for my partner, as he sat down on the cushion, head laid on the back of it. "Sorry I asked... So did that Eevee you met took you to this 'Universe Three?'"

"Yup!" I agreed. I gave a longer explanation to what happened to me, but it went along the lines like this: me and the Eevee went to that world, where I became a shiny Eevee. We met a few teammates there, saved the world a few times, and I learned a whole bunch of stuff from the other worlds. Heck, even the music Manny had with him was a bit awesome.

My partner was too surprised to even imagine all the statements I said at once! He just stood there shaking with delight every so often. "That sounds so cool. Why did you leave then?"

I had to put some thought in this. This was the very first creature that I even told about outside of my old friend who knows about it. "Well, um...," I began while thinking for a moment. "All my life, I've always dreamed of becoming a trainer. Bonding with random Pokémon I get to know, along with battling alongside them? It makes it even better that I can understand every word they're saying!" My hand started rubbing the monkey's head, and I supposed he was more confused than chirpy. "So I might as well ask, do you want to be my partner?"

The Grookey looked outside to notice our surroundings. The train was about to stop, and we noticed an entire grassland filled with Pokémon in our surroundings. Grookey called it the Wild Area, filled with crazy strong Pokémon. I had a bad feeling if I went alone as a Leafeon, but luckily Grookey sighed and nodded. "Fine. But we have to try and catch a Pokémon here. I at least think we should have two Pokémon before the opening ceremony. For respectable purposes."

After a large groan from me, and the train arriving at the situation, I decided to oblige the Grokey's request. The monkey decided to fist bump my paw that was turning back to a human hand...

I hope no one saw my Leafeon tail receding as we ran out the railway station.

For the last few hours of daylight we had, we searched for a Pokémon to look out for, nothing in particular. We couldn't find anything in particular, so we decided to camp out in the first tree we found in the middle of the grassland.

I'm currently writing to you as a Pokémon, so if anyone here catches me while I was holding this journal, here's my explanation. Please let me go, and don't tell anyone about who I am.

Seriously... Please don't.
