A/N: Hey guys! Back again just in time with the update. Hope you like it!
At the edge of the water she's too afraid to dive,
Wondering if it'll be worth it to get to the other side.
The journey is long and hard and the water is cold,
And by the time she reaches the other end what if she's too old
To know if it was worth it, this journey she is on
Is it what she even wants?
There are so many paths, stretching out in all directions.
Twisting and turning away from her gaze,
But the water before her is a glittering blue haze.
Right there in front,
So tempting to jump,
But she knows once she's in the water it'll be hard to come out,
So she stands on the edge and wonders all about,
The future she can't see,
the choices she doesn't have,
the other paths she can't follow.
If she dives headfirst into this,
Will making it to the other side be worth it?
What if it's not what she wanted,
What if the other paths lead to where she's always wanted to go,
And the ocean before her is just a distracting glow.
How nice would it be,
If life could show you the path that you were meant to see,
And meant to follow so you could achieve,
All the things you have ever hoped and dreamed.
A neat little GPS that could guide the way,
So you wouldn't have to stand at the edge of the fray.
-.-.-.-
But since there's no guiding light,
She just has to trust her gut and hope that it's right.
And even if it's wrong,
The journey will still move her along.
So she stares at the ocean and feels the tug in her gut,
And dives in headfirst with her eyes tightly shut.
But when she opens them again,
Slowly and unsure,
The green eyes that greet her make her heart soar.
A/N: So what did you think? A little poem all about not knowing which direction to take in life and being unsure if the path you have chosen is the right one, a relatable thing I think. But as one of the speeches during my commencement said, it doesn't matter if you don't know, you just have to choose a direction and go, just start. Because you will only know once you've started, and you always have the ability to change it. Don't hesitate and wait, just go.
Which is why the poem ends on that note, making a decision and just going. Even Annabeth's surprised at the outcome, just as you might be :)
Please Review! I'd love to hear your thoughts!
And as always, thanks for reading!
See ya! :)
