CHAPTER TEN
Water and Fire
Tails stormed into the hospital.
He walked past the main desk.
Sarah was trying to stay right behind him.
Shadow was up ahead, leaning against the wall.
"What the- why are you two covered in blood?!"
"That doesn't matter! Where's Macy and is she okay?"
"Uh down the hall in room 180, and so far yes. Why?"
"She's next!"
"Oh crap, Sonic..."
"We need to make sure she lives, because if she doesn't were doomed."
"Kind of got the memo by how many times you've said that."
But Shadow stopped talking when Tails shot him a look unlike any he had ever given.
"What's going on?" Asked Knuckles walked up.
"You called them?"
"Yes, we need all the help we can use."
"is everything okay?" Asked a doctor that was passing.
"No, the lady in room 180, is it possible to stay with her?"
"Uh... we are sir?"
"Just, please."
The doctor walked away, looking confused.
Sarah looked up at Tails.
"So, what do we do?"
"We split up-"
Suddenly Tails fell to his knees, started to shake violently, and inhale sharply.
I'M READY TO DIE!
Tails fell to the floor, still shaking and now foaming at the mouth.
The lamp...
Don't let it fall!
Tails gasped for air.
He could breathe again.
The other four were leaning over him with faces of absolute fear.
"What was that?"
Tails looked from Sarah to Shadow.
Judging by their faces they knew what was coming.
"What are the final words?"
"She was screaming, I'm ready to die." Tails said.
Suddenly a nurse ran by saying,
"There's a flood upstairs!"
Tails ran up to her.
"Miss, please get my sister out of that room!"
"But we have a flood-"
"If you don't she'll die!"
The nurse looked unsure of him but still went over to a group of other doctors to tell them the same thing.
"We need to got stop the flood. I have a hunch it isn't good."
The five ran up the stairs.
The upstairs hallway seemed dry and empty so they went to the room above room 180.
As soon as Tails opened the door a wave of water came spilling out.
Inside was a overflowing bathtub.
The floor underneath it was starting to break from the water damage and the weight of the tub.
"Get that side!" Said Tails.
Knuckles and Rouge ran to one side of the tub.
The other three ran to the other side.
"Try to push it off the weak floor!"
Tails started to pull on the tub.
But even with the sound of the water he still heard it,
" I'M READY TO DIE!"
No, he wouldn't let it happen.
Suddenly it felt like Tails pulled the entire tub to the other side of the room.
This left Knuckles and Rouge on the weak floor, which collapsed.
The two fell to the floor uninjured before a wave of water fell on top of them.
Tails watched as the doctors pushed the bed out of the room below them.
"We saved her." Said Tails
They were about to celebrate when Knuckles and Rouge emerged from the water.
"You guys okay?" Asked Tails.
But they didn't answer.
Rouge was staring up at something.
"The Lamp."
Tails looked over.
In the collapse a lamp was knocked over and was hanging by it's electrical cord.
"Don't let it fall!" Cried Knuckles.
But it was too late.
It fell.
Tails grabbed Shadow and Sarah by the arms and ran out of the room.
First there was an electrical zap, then an explosion.
The three dove out of the way of the fire.
After a few minutes the three looked back.
The room was burnt all over.
Then Shadow broke the silence.
"Who now?"
Tails closed his eyes to remember the pile up.
He opened his eyes to stare at Sarah.
"S-Sarah and me..."
"And then MJ and Timmy?"
They both turned to look at Shadow.
"Please, tell me, if we don't make it-"
"Tails..."
"Shadow! If we don't make it, please save Timmy and MJ, please?"
"Okay."
Tails gave a small smile before the two of them turned around and left.
