I was surrounded by darkness. I didn't know where I was, but I was running. There were voices all around me, but I couldn't make them out or what they were saying. I tried to find anything familiar, but it was almost pitch black.
Finally I saw a light and ran towards it. But the more I ran, the further away it seemed to be.
I tried to tell for help, but nothing came out. I felt like I was in purgatory. If that were the case, I'd be totally screwed because I don't have any of my weapons.
Suddenly, I heard wings flapping and someone landed right in front of me.
Seriously? I'm dreaming about an episode of Supernatural? Why the hell am I dreaming about Castiel? He's a character on a show for goodness sake!
"Isabella, we don't have much time. But this is not a dream. You fainted in the middle of class and your friend took you to the hospital. There is trouble coming your way, and you must warn your friends. It will happen in three months time."
"What's going to happen?" I asked, finding my voice.
"I can't tell you, just warn the others. The only thing I can tell you is this is your destiny." Cas said.
"My destiny?" I questioned skeptically. Just like Cas, he disappears without elaborating. Dick, I thought.
I proceeded running and finally reached the light.
I woke up with a start, adjusting my eyes to the bright florescent lights. I looked around and noticed I was hooked up to and I.V.
The doctor walked in and seen I was awake.
"Oh, good. You're up." he said. I didn't recognize him, then quickly realized this must be Dr. Cullen.
"How long was I out?" I asked, my voice hoarse.
"About three days. You were dehydrated, so we had to hook you to an I.V. A lot of your friends are in the lobby, they've been worried about you." he responded.
Great. Just what I needed, worried friends.
"Is my dad here?"
"He is. I'll go get him for you." he smiled as he walked out to get Charlie.
A couple minutes later, Charlie rushes in and sits in the chair beside me. His eyes are all red and puffy.
"Oh Bells, thank God you're okay. We've been so worried about you. Stefan told me what happened. Damon knows too, so expect a big lecture later. He's been trying to get back here to you, but I got him to calm down."
"Well tell the idiota I'm fine. I was just a little dehydrated. I need to talk to you guys when I'm able to go home though. There's something important you should know."
He nodded and said, "Pretty sure he heard you. He's right outside the door listening in."
"Damn right, I am." I heard him say. I laughed hoarsely and Dad handed me my glass of water which I gulped down slowly.
"You guys are going to be mad, but I haven't ate in the past four days. I really don't want any hospital food so, can one of you please sneak me a burger and chocolate shake from the Grill?" I asked sweetly, hoping not to get yelled at more later.
"Sure, baby girl. I'll get right on that. Want me to send the brothers in?"
"Might as well. Don't want to break their hearts now do we?"
"Ha ha, funny principessa." Damon mock laughed as he and Stefan walked in. Charlie left me with the imbeciles to get my food.
"So, Isabella, you want to tell me what happened to you to make you shut down?"
Damn it, he's using my full first name. He's definitely pissed.
"I had a strange dream the night before I went to school. I don't know what it means, but I guess it just stressed me out and I couldn't eat." I admitted sheepishly.
Damon took a deep breath and sat down on the bed beside me. He looked at me for a moment, then grabbed my hand making me look at him.
"What happened?" he asked calmly.
I sighed and said, "I was running in the forest and it was too quiet. But I heard leaves rustling all around me. I came across a waterfall and a lake. I didn't know what else to do, so I jumped. Then I woke up sweating."
They both gazed at me for a moment. Then they pulled me into a hug, being cautious of the tubes.
"I didn't want to tell you guys because you worry about me enough as it is. And I didn't want to add anything else to that. I hate worrying you two. I mean, I'm usually a tough person, but that dream scared me and I didn't know what to do. I got a lecture from Peter about telling you. He made me see reason. I'm so sorry for keeping it from you guys." I cried and they sat and held me until I stopped.
After a while they let go. Stefan handed me some tissues and I wiped my face. Dad walked in with my food and set it on the table, then left the room again.
Damon took it out and handed it to me and I started eating.
"I'm glad you told us, Bells. When are you going to realize that no matter what you do or tell is, we're always going to be here for you? Please don't shut us out or scare us like that again.
We're your best friends for a reason. There's things you can tell us that we know you can't tell anyone else about. Sure you got Charlie. But, we know he's always busy with work. So, please remember. We're only a phone call away.
We love you, Bells. Okay? No matter what. Understand?" asks Stefan.
I nodded, smiling slightly and said, "I understand guys. I love you, too. I just hate feeling so weak. You know that. I'm only human after all."
They laughed, gave me one last hug and left the room. Dr. Cullen walked back in and looked at the monitor.
"You're looking better. I'm going to go on and put you in the clear. I have your discharge papers ready, your dad has them. So you can go on home or somewhere someone can keep and eye on you for the next 24 hours. After that, if you're still good, you can go back to school." he said as he unhooked all the tubes.
He gave me my bag of clothes and gestured toward the bathroom. I went in and quickly changed out of the hospital gown, used the bathroom and washed my hands. Man, I need a shower. I wonder if Day will let me use his.
I walked out and to the waiting room where all my friends were. They all saw me and rushed toward me, all giving me hugs and fretting over me. I smiled at them all and told them I was fine, just needed rest.
"I'm really fine, guys. was just stressed and dehydrated. It's not like I was dying. Besides, I'm too tough to take down so easily. I promise I'm good."
They all hesitantly nodded and smiled at me. Then they all walked out and headed to their houses. I turned to the brothers and Dad.
"I hope you guys don't mind, but I'll probably have to stay the night at the Boarding House. Doc says someone needs to keep an eye on me for the next 24 hours and Dad, your Chief, so you have work."
"Sure, baby girl, if it's okay with Damon and Stefan, it's fine by me." dad responded.
"Of course, bellissima. You're welcome anytime." Damon said as he put an arm around my shoulders.
I hugged dad and left with the brothers in Damon's car. I wondered where my car was.
"Hey Stef. Do you know where my car is? And my keys?"
He got a worried look on his face and looked away before answering.
"I may have taken your keys and drove it to take you to the hospital, then took it to your house after I let Damon know what was going on."
I probably would have been mad any other time. But I'll let it slide since it was a bit of an emergency.
"Don't worry Stef. I'm not mad and I'm not going to tell at you or anything. It was an emergency. As long as you took good care of him and treated him with respect."
Damon laughed and I elbowed him in the ribs.
"Of course I did. I even inspected it to make sure nobody else had touched it. The Impala is still in perfect condition. I promise." he said, looking me straight in the eyes. I knew he was telling me the truth, otherwise, he would have stuttered and blinked. So I just nodded thankfully.
Damon pulled into their driveway and turned the car off. We headed inside and I went straight to Damon's room. He walked with me and handed me one of his shirts and a pair of boxers. I accepted them and went to his shower. I loved his bathroom, he had the best shower ever. It was a walk in shower, roomy, and very relaxing. I had to use Damon's shampoo and body wash, but I didn't care.
After fifteen minutes, I turned the water off and stepped out to dry off. I got out a brand-new toothbrush and toothpaste and brushed my teeth. Then grabbed a brand-new hair brush and brushed my hair.
Walking back into Damon's room, he was lying on his bed. He beckoned me over to lay next to him. I happily obliged and curled into him, laying my head on his chest. He started humming and I quickly fell into a dreamless sleep.
