"Ronald Weasley!" Hermione yelled, coming down the stairs and into the common room.

"What have you done this time?" Harry asked as Ron paled and sank in the couch he had been sitting on.

"I don't know?" Ron whimpered. "Do you think she'd leave me alone if I looked like I was sleeping?"

"I doubt it. You've seen her when she really gets going, nothing stops her. She'd probably yell until you woke up, and then yell some more for a good measure." Harry looked sympathetic.

"Harry!" Hermione's angry voice caused everyone in the common room to look in their direction as Harry wondered what exactly he had done to warrant such an angry tone. He was absolutely certain he had done nothing to annoy Hermione in the past month.

"H-Hermione," Ron hesitatingly stuttered. "Splendid day, isn't it?"

Harry groaned as Hermione glanced at the window. It was one of the more gloomy days that drenched everything within sight in rain without even the vaguest hint of sunshine. The day was anything but splendid. They wouldn't be in the common room if it had been.

"No, it most certainly isn't."

Ron winced.

"Come with me, both of you."

Exchanging startled glances, Harry and Ron reluctantly relinquished their couches and followed Hermione out the common room and into one of the older classrooms that was nearly never used. They were starting to wonder if the entire point of this was for Hermione to kill them, and hide their bodies, for some unknown reason.

"I've had enough," Hermione said, angrily slamming her hands on the desk as she turned to face them. It really didn't look like Ron or Harry were going to survive the encounter.

"The two of you are going to help me get back at Malfoy, understood? This is the third time this week that he's turned Crookshanks blue, and I've just about had it with him."

"Wait, you want us to get back at Malfoy? You want us to do something against the rules?" Ron asked, stunned surprise clear on his face. Harry wasn't even able to speak as his mind tried to take everything in, and somehow associate the Hermione he knew to the Hermione in front of him.

"Well, I'll help of course," Hermione sniffed. "I wouldn't be getting back at him if you were the only ones to curse him."

Harry and Ron's jaws dropped. Harry pinched himself to make sure he hadn't fallen asleep in the common room or something.

"Don't look so surprised," Hermione said, breaking the silence that had grown in the air around them.

"To be fair, this is kind of surprising coming from you..." Harry said.

"Kind of? Harry, I'm not even certain that's Hermione!" Ron whispered.

"It's a bit out of character, yes, but Malfoy deserves it. Anyway, I thought you two would jump at the opportunity to get back at Malfoy."

"Yeah, we're definitely agreeing. I just need to make sure you're not joking first," Ron answered, rubbing his eyes.

"I'm absolutely serious, Ron. Anyway, I was thinking Malfoy may like another dose of Moody's medicine." Hermione's eyes glinted almost scarily.

"You mean the ferret thing again? Aren't human-animal transformations really difficult though?"

"Not necessarily transfigure him, just give him constant reminders, like transfiguring a quill or something every now and again."

Harry and Ron nodded in agreement. Nothing could go wrong, it was Hermione's plan after all.
