18. EDward SuSan
The moment I was sorted into Slytherin, I just got off the table and started moving towards My respective house table, they all were cheering for me, it was good but I already know what kind of mess wizarding community is and if I want myself to survive then I'll have to maintain my identity a secret because one thing I know I am a Muggle born if my father was a muggle or if he was a wizard I'm a half blood, about my father I never want to know so yeah, I'm a muggle born and now I'll have to be careful as I'm in slytherin, I shook hands with perfects and Head boy and Girl, then I found myself a sit beside a blonde girl, her name is Tracy Davis, she is good at talking as she asked me multiple question, then one boy, who was just sitting across me, beside someone dumpy asked me "you are not from Britain" obviously he overheard my conversation with Davis,
"Yes, I'm an American" I replied to the boy, he looked at me with a smug look and said " I'm Draco Malfoy, this is Crabbe and Goyle" he said while pointing on boys each side of him, "definitely his minions" I thought to myself.
After eating Dinner and chatting with people around me, Then hearing Professor Dumbledore welcome speech, I left with Tracy Davis and Daphane Greengrass, who looked like she doesn't like talking much, for Slytherin common room.
Tracy was a lot help, she told me everything about Slytherin common room and even showed me my dormitory, apparently Girls can visit boys dormitory but boys can't visit Girls.
"thank you very much for helping out" I said to Tracy Davis with a smile she beamed at me and said "No, problem" then left to meet her friend.
"Already impressing a girl" asked one guy who was already in the room,
"what" I asked him, "from which angle it looked like I was trying to impress her"
"every" replied the guy "by the way, I'm Blaise Zabini"
"I'm Edward Susan" I introduced myself, " and how every" I added
"I was just kidding" Blaise said with a grin
"okay," I replied, after that we didn't talk much it was an awkward silence until Draco Malfoy his two cronies and someone named Theodore Nott came in room, I was so tired so I just went to the bed early, before getting too much in conversations.
Next Day, in the morning when I exited my dormitory for breakfast I saw Tracy and her friend sitting on couch, Tracy waved towards me, I smiled at her and joined them,
"How was your night" asked Tracy
"Sharing a room with 5 other people and two of them snoring so badly" I replied, "yeah it was quite great apart from that"
"get used to it Mr. Susan" Tracy replied while grinning at me
"with time, Ms. Davis" I replied, "how are you Ms. Greengrass"
"Good, thanks for asking" said Greengrass, her voice was sweet at least when she talked sweetly, after that we together went to great hall for breakfast, while I was eating my bacon, suddenly someone started shouting at someone, but when I looked up it was not someone, it was a letter for someone named Ron Weasley, it was from her mother, she was shouting at him because he's done something stupid last night, he came to hogwarts in flying car as he and his friend harry missed train, it was stupid but it was quite an entry, I admitted inwardly.
Draco Malfoy the moment heard it, he started making rude comments about the guy and Harry potter, I've read about him, as Malfoy was commenting about them it looked like Malfoy and Potter, Weasley hated each other to guts. There is also House rivalries the worst one is Gryffindor vs Slytherin.
Then suddenly out of nowhere my head of house appeared beside me and asked me "you already befriended Ms. Greengrass" I just nodded, then he turned to Greengrass, and said "Ms. Greengrass after breakfast please come to my office with Mr. Susan," then he left without another word.
"What was that" asked Greengrass quite shocked,
"No idea" I replied.
We both were on our way to Snape's office, Greengrass was not talking to me she was just walking, this girl is really boring after I remembered how I used to be, I just kicked myself mentally, the moment we reached Snape's office, Greengrass knocked.
"come in" Snape's voice came from the office, so Greengrass just opened the gate to get inside I followed her, Professor Snape without even looking at us, gestured us to sit on chairs across him.
"Ms. Greengrass and Mr. Susan, I've asked you both to meet me because, to inform you both that Ms. Greengrass will help you out for next few months in your studies as you have missed your last year Mr. Susan" explained Snape in his stern voice, while looking at us
"Why me?" asked Greengrass
"but I thought, home classes were enough" I replied, I don't want someone to tag along with me every time at least someone who is not interested
"Ms. Greengrass, you are best student in your year in my house, Mr. Susan yes you have received your classes at your home, but still you are far behind most of the students and you just need around one to two months extra classes after that you will catch up with your peers" replied Snape, with an impassive tone.
"but I don't think I can" said Greengrass
"I'm not asking you, I'm telling you and Ms. Greengrass as you are going to help your year mate, you will receive house points and relaxation over some home work for next one or two months and from now on you will have to be with Mr. Susan in every class," replied Snape, with emphasizing some of his words. Greengrass just nodded so did I.
"Now, as I've made myself clear, you both can go to your next class" said Professor Snape
"so what now," I asked her, as we were going back to great hall
"you do as I say" she replied without even looking at me
"What?" I said unbelievably and stoped, she just turned around and gave me one of her cold stare but I just returned her back a stare of my own, we were just starting at each other waiting who will blink first, then I blinked, she smirked.
"You heard the professor, I'm here to help you, I'm your senior and you have a lot to learn, so my first lesson is do as I say," she said, then started walking again leaving me there, I was just starting at her.
So for last one week, what I'm doing is constantly following order from Ms. Greengrass, yeah Tracy and I'm are on first name basis, but with Greengrass, no progress and she is just making my life harder by pointing out my problems, making me do homework on time, then never complimenting when I do something good, I mean even teacher's are saying I'm good, but the cold-hearted-witch doesn't know how to treat a guy, other than her all teachers are good, at least most of them are, I mean there is this git named Gilderoy lockhart, he is teaching us, Defense against the dark arts, he is the worst, I mean even Greengrass would be a better teacher than him. In our first class he had a test for all of us, at first I thought, it's going to be difficult giving my first test, but really it was not difficult, it was impossible, he asked us question, like what is Gilderoy Lockhart favorite Quidditch team? What are Gilderoy Lockhart hobbies? What Gilderoy Lockhart love to do? I'm still thinking why didn't he ask for his favorite underwear. Supposedly all the answers for respective questions are in books which he assigned us, I swear I'm never going to read those horrible textbooks, even Greengrass was furious after such a waste of lesson. Then there is professor Snape, he didn't say anything to Slytherins, always complimented us but it was evident in his every syllable he spoke that he hated Gryffindor, worse for harry potter because Professor Snape even didn't care to hide his hatred for Potter.
"I'm on team" Draco Malfoy declared one day when I was trying to do, my homework in the dormitory,
"Congratulations" I shouted, without even looking up, I knew one thing with living Malfoy that he was always proud of himself,
"You don't want to know what position, I'm playing?" asked Malfoy, while looking at me, he had this smug look on his face.
"Of course, care to tell Malfoy??" I asked
"it's seeker, now that bloody potter will know who is best" replied Draco, with a satisfied grin
"It's nice, all the best for the future" I wished him once more, then started focusing on my, homework otherwise Greengrass will eat me alive.
"how good are you on the broom," Draco asked me,
"I don't like flying" I replied the real answer was I've never flied a broomstick before but then Malfoy will eat my head off.
"Really" said Draco incredulously
"Yes," I replied and after that he just kept on telling me how good it feels to fly, it's shame I don't enjoy it, I should try someday, and he even offered me flying lessons maybe, and I even don't know what else but after some time Crabbe and Goyle came from wherever they were, I really for the first time in my life was happy to see them both.
When I woke up next morning, it was Draco who woke me up, I looked at him, just grunted "what?"
I messed up yesterday, while Draco was talking to me in dormitory, he sometime asked me for giving flying lessons and apparently I said yes, to him so now I was with him going to the Quidditch pitch with rest of my house team. I'm going to kill myself for not giving much attention yesterday while doing homework.
"Do we, practice with Gryffindor House Quidditch team,?" I asked Draco as I saw multiple people, flying in red and Golden robes.
"No," said Malfoy while glaring daggers at coming, Gryffindor towards them.
"What's this suppose to mean, flint" A boy with black hair asked incredulously to Marcus Flint, Captain of Slytherin Quidditch house team.
"we are here to practice, can't you see wood" replied Flint mockingly
"I booked pitch for us today" replied wood sternly
"But I've permission slip from my head of house for practicing today as I've to train our team's new seeker" flint told him with showing him the slip.
"who is that new seeker,?" asked Wood,
Malfoy smugly stood with his broomstick when, flint said his name, the very moment a busy-hair girl appeared, Hermione Granger he has already seen her in potions class with the red-head boy, Ron Weasley and a Redhead Girl, Emma potter, Harry potter's twin sister, but as Smugly Malfoy was showing off his face, I almost wanted to vomit what can be so special about these broomstick but that broomstick was supposed to be special and everyone of them had one at least now I know how Malfoy got into the team, but someone voiced my thought.
"At least in Gryffindor everyone is one the team because of their pure talent, no one has to buy their way in" said Hermione, she looked quite angry, I knew now any moment Malfoy was going to explode.
"no one asked you filthy little mudblood" shouted Malfoy, Malfoy is showing his bigotry, this irritated me myself but the moment he said those word every Gryffindor started defending Hermione, the next moment the red head boy shouted while pointing his wand at Malfoy "you will pay for this Malfoy, eat slugs" but his spell didn't work as it looked like it backfired and threw him back, every Gryffindor went running towards him, all the Slytherin were laughing but next moment the Redhead boy – Ron Weasley was vomiting slugs which caused me to laugh in disgust.
After all the Drama and flying lessons, which I liked but didn't show to Malfoy, I was now stuck with Greengrass, Now in my mind Malfoy and Greengrass a were competing for the title of who is worse.
"Pretty impressive" Greengrass complimented me, for the first time, I can't believe it and Malfoy is worse.
"Thanks, I thought you never compliment" I replied with a laugh
"I do, when someone deserves compliment" Greengrass replied simply
"It's been around two weeks since you started tutoring me, so how long do you think we will have to suffer each other" I asked her
"Not so long, by the speed you are going one more month, maximum" she replied with a rare smile.
"One more month" I swallowed, "that's quite alright"
