Yuri on Ice & Haikyuu Cross over

PROLOUGE

When Hinata was 6, his mom took him and his 1-year old sister to the ice rink for a fun day out. As expected Hinata was bad when he first started but he quickly got the hand of it.

"Wow baby, you're really good at this."

"Am I?" he asked his mom excitedly, "Its so much fun mom, please, please can we come again?"

And that's what they did, around 1 a month for a few months, the Hinata's went to the ice rink for their fun days. Mrs. Hinata decided the perfect gift for her Shoyo, whose birthday was in a week.

"Happy birthday to you, happy birthday to you, happy birthday dear Shoyo, happy birthday to you. Blow out your candles sweetie." His mom told him.

"Can we open present, please?" he asked with puppy dog eyes. His mom complied and they made their way to the sofa for present time. He opened all his presents except a heavy one from his mom.

"This is your last one Shoyo, I hope you like it." His mom said. Hinata started rapidly opening his present, when he opened the box, he saw a set of small black skates. His eyes widened, and his smile grew even bigger. "My own skates?" he asked excitedly, "Yes, and I've got something even better, you're going to lessons as well." If Hinata's smile could get any bigger it did. He got up and run to hug his mom.

"Thank you thank you thank you!"

"You're welcome, just promise me one thing, okay?" He looked up at his mom expectantly nodding his head.

"Promise me that one day you're going to be the best figure skater there has been." Hinata looked up his mom with a huge smile on his face frantically nodding his head.

And with that, the family in Hasetsu, started taking Shoyo to The Ice Castle for skating lessons every week.

"Mommy, come here!" Hinata yelled when he saw his orange hair mom walk through the doors. He pulled on his friends' arm and dragged him towards his mother.

"Hi sweetie, who's this with you?" She asked looking at the older man.

"This is Yuuri, he also skates, he's my friend now. Can I please stay longer today? Yuuri promised me he would start teaching me some jumps." He asked looking up at his mom. She looked at Yuuri who gave her a shy smile before looking down at her son smiling.

"okay but only half an hour, because then we have to go pick up Natsu from day care." Hinatas smile grew even bigger. He gave his mom a hug before grabbing Yuuri's hand again dragging him to the ice. There Yuuri started teaching Hinata some single jumps, and how to skate backwards before his mom called him to leave.

And that's how it went for 1 ½ years, after Yuuri's and Hinata's practice at the Ice Castle, they would stay behind for an extra hour with Yuuri teaching Hinata more and more complex techniques and jump. Yuuri helped Hinata at his first local competition. Then at his first regional competition. With Yuuris help, Hinata managed to get to nationals before he lost. At first Hinata was sad, but then he got angry, he wanted to win. He trained even harder determined to win his next nationals. Finally, after his 9th birthday, won that year's nationals, moving onto internationals. He was so happy, and his friends and family were so proud. Yuuri also moving onto internationals flew with Hinata to where it was being hosted, seen as Mrs. Hinata couldn't get time off work. Both Yuuri and Hinata made it into the top 20. But both were unhappy with their result and wanted to train even more. But that wasn't necessarily a good thing for Hinata.

"Your leaving me?" Hinata asked, lip trembling and eyes watering. Yuuri bent down so that he was eye level with Hinata.

"I'm sorry Sho-chan, but a really good coach in America wants to train me, this opportunity is a really good one and I don't want to give it up."

"But I'll miss you Yuuri." Hinata said, his tears finally spilling. "I don't want you to go."

"I'm sorry Shoyo, and I'll miss you too, don't think I won't. Buti doesn't mean we won't see each other again. I can still face time you and call you every week, and although I won't be able to visit anymore, I can still come back after a year or so. I'm not leaving you Sho-chan just remember that." Hinata was full on sobbing into Yuuri shirt when he said that, not wanting his friend to leave.

His goodbye at the airport was a very sad one, not just for Hinata but for his whole family, seen as they all grew very close to the older skater. And to make matters even worse for Hinata, his mom decided to drop a bombshell on him.

"Shoyo, Natsu! Come here please." Their mom called out to them one afternoon. "I need to tell you 2 something okay." They both looked at their mom expectantly.

"Kids, mommy got a really good job. I'm going to get more money now. So, I get to spoil you 2 now. We can take you to ballet lessons like you wanted Shoyo, and Natsu, we can get you that new doll you wanted." Both their faces lit up at this happy for their mom and happy that they will get the things they wanted. But Hinata saw his moms face fall a bit.

"What's wrong mom?" He asked confused.

"I'm sorry sweeties, but we're going to have to move, my new job is in another town."

"Oh," Hinata said with a sad look.

"I know you don't want to move. But there will be an ice rink at the new town, I made sure to check before I even accepted the job. We can get you a new coach so that you can practice even harder and get into the top 10 at internationals next year, with your new coach we can even try entering you into international competitions. And you're very friendly so it won't be hard to make new friends if that's what you're worried about. I know you don't want to move, but please do this for me Sho." She asked her son.

He sat there thinking for a minute before looking back up at him mom nodding.

"I don't really want to leave Hasetsu, but I'll do it for you, and I will make lots of friends and work even harder than I ever have." He said smiling.

With that, they Hinata family moved to the Miygai prefecture. Natsu got the doll she wanted, Hinata got to go to ballet classes like he wanted. Hinata was happy, and even though lots of the boys at his school bullied him for playing a 'girls sport', he worked harder than he ever had. He talked to Yuuri a lot and met his friend Pitchit through face time. He and Yuuri made a deal, that if Hinata made it into international competitions Yuuri would come watch his first competitions and as many competitions as he could. And when he was 11, Yuuri kept his bargain of the deal and went to go watch Hinata at his first International competition in Canada. Hinata kept improving on his techniques and jumps determined to make the top 5 at his next competition, which he did.

Yuuri didn't do great at the Grand Prix Finals and decided to go home. Hinata was happy, even though he lived in a different town to Yuuri, he still got to see him more often than when he was in America. And he even got to meet Viktor Nikiforov, which totally didn't make Hinata cry.

But life being life decided to throw a curveball at Hinata after his thirteenth birthday. He was riding his bicycle with his mom walking next to him. He rode his bike past an electronics store when something on one of the TV's. Karasuno's Little Giant flying on the Tv screen. He watched in awe at the game of volleyball. He definitely wanted to play now. But how would he manage to keep up with ballet, figure skating and volleyball? He didn't care, he would manage somehow, he just knew he had to be on the court. He would ask him mom when they got home.

"Come on Shoyo lets get going, we need to pick up Natsu and get home to start making dinner."

"Okay," Hinata said finally tearing his eyes away from the screen. They were wait at the pedestrian crossing for the light to turn green and when it did, they started walking.

"You want to play volleyball now, don't you?" she asked. "I don't mind, we can see if your school has a club, there's just going to be a lot on you plate." Hinata stopped in the road.

"Really? You'll let me?"

"Of course, sweety." She said looking down at him, when she looked her face fell. "Shoyo!" She yelled pushing him out of the way, and before he could blink a car drive past and hit his mom. Not even caring that the car hit someone, the driver drove off. Hinata looked down at his mom, who was bleeding badly.

"NO! MOM!" he was on the floor busy holding her, when the ambulance arrived, clearly a bystander called. He doesn't even remember how he got to the hospital; he just remembers how the hurried his mom away to surgery.
