The next morning, I'm already dressed for school. Since I can phase now, I'm wearing a sundress again, with flip-flops.
Dean made a big breakfast of bacon and eggs, he tried to hog all the bacon. Asshole.
My phone started ringing, it was Klaus.
"Klaus, what are you doing calling me so early? I gotta be at school soon."
"Well love. I just wanted to check up on you. Elijah and I heard that you phased. Also, we found the moonstone. The lovely, Katerina has put it into a well of vervain and snakes.
Any idea on how we can retrieve it?"
"I swear I could kill the bitch. Which I will as soon as all this is over with. Since I'm a shape-shifter, vervain won't bother me. I can handle the snakes as well.
Looks like I'm on moonstone duty." I grumbled.
"Are you sure, love? I'm sure one of your friends won't mind getting the moonstone."
"Nik, I told you that I would help you because we're family and I love you. I meant that.
I'll get the stone and I will be fine.
Shall I retrieve it now?"
"No love, go on to school. The stone will still be there. Be careful love."
"I will Nik. I'll talk to you later."
"Bye, Isabella."
We hung up, I finished eating and drinking my coffee and made my way to the Impala.
Arriving at school, the guys were waiting on me. We still had a few minutes, so I gave them the update.
"Guys, Klaus called me. Apparently, the wicked bitch of the east put the moonstone in a well full of vervain and snakes.
I know which well it is, my friends and I use to play there as kids. I'm heading there after school to retrieve it.
Stef, you can't go in because of the vervain.
But you can still help if you want. Paul, Jared, either of you want to join?"
"I'll go, Luna. Paul can't have all the fun." Jared smirked. Paul pouted.
"Babe, I can go with you. I'll go in the well with you to find the moonstone. We can keep each other safe. Please?" asks Matty.
I looked at him for a moment, then nodded hesitantly.
"Alright, babe. But please stay close to me. I can't lose you. The snakes are most likely venomous. I can heal, you can't."
"That's another reason for me to be there. My blood can heal him if he gets bit." bargained Stefan.
Matt looked at Stef and nodded in appreciation, then at me.
"Okay. Then as soon as school is over, the four of us head straight there. Thanks guys."
The parking lot was almost full, so we made our way inside and grabbed our things.
I kissed Matt as he walked with me to my class.
Stef and I took our seats, waiting on class to start.
Finally, the tardy bell rang and Mr Barret began the lesson.
My phone vibrated and I pulled it out and checked it. It was a text from Chandler.
Bells. The family and I will be there in a couple weeks. We tried to get where we can make it for your birthday. I'm sorry we won't make it in time. -Riggs
I put my phone away and looked up in time before Mr Barret turned around.
Class finally ended and Stef and I walked to Calculus with Bonnie. I hooked my arm through hers until we got there.
We got to work in groups of three. Lucky me, I got to work with my two besties.
We worked really hard together, but still managed to have fun.
A couple hours later. We make our way to the cafeteria. I fill my tray with a little of everything. If I didn't have such a high metabolism now, I'd get fat, no doubt.
My pack brother's laughed at our friends faces when they saw me.
"Damn, Bells. You eat almost as much as the pack." said Ty. I growled at him. He held his hands up in surrender.
"I was just saying. I didn't mean anything by it. I know you have a really high metabolism now. Dad and the guys have been preparing me. Since, you know it's still possible for me to turn." he explained.
"I know Ty. But you know me and food. It has always been a way to my heart.
Anyway everyone here that doesn't know, Jasper, ladies and gents, I know you can hear me.
I got a call from Nik this morning before school. The Petrova bitch put the moonstone in the well we use to play around as kids.
It's also filled with vervain and snakes. Stef, Jared, and Matt volunteered to go with me after school.
Matt is going down the well with me to find it while Jared and Stef help us down.
Stefan is also there in case Matty gets bitten.
Any questions?"
Everyone shook their heads at the table.
"We're good over here, Princess." I heard Jasper whisper from their table.
"All right, guys."
Lunch ended and we made our way to Bio. We had a test. I finished mine with twenty minutes to spare.
Teach said I could do whatever I wanted as long as I didn't disturb the other students.
So I took out my sketchbook and started sketching.
I drew a portrait of Damon with Jane, since Day's birthday is coming up. It's the same day as mine. Ever since I met him, I've sketched something for him for his birthday. And he would take me on a trip to somewhere he's been that would last for three days. I don't know about this year.
The bell rang, signalling the end of class. Stef and I made our way outside, he sat with me on the bleachers.
I took my sketchbook back out so I could finish the portrait. Matt sat down on the other side of me and they both watched me.
When I was finished I showed it to them.
"Looks great babe. What's it for?" asks Matt.
"Well, Damon's birthday is the same as mine and every year for the past five, going on six years, I sketch something for him.
He takes me on a three day trip in return."
He nodded.
"He'll love it Bells. So will Jane. She's been spending every day with him. Alec doesn't like it, but he's warming up to Damon."
" Oh, I know. Believe me. Alec calls me non stop to vent. I love my brother to death, but he's just going to have to get over it." I grumbled.
The bell rang for the end of school. I out my sketchbook away and we gathered our things, then made our way to the parking lot. Everyone the guys followed me home and we pulled into the driveway.
"All right guys, I'm going to grab some chain to use so you can pull us back out when we find the moonstone. I don't want to take any of the cars, we're running there.
Matt, do you want to ride on my wolf or Jared's?"
His eyes widened a little.
"I'll ride on Jared's babe. I don't want to slow you down." he said. I nodded.
"Stef, you get to carry the chain. Let's go."
We made our way to the woods, Jared and I went behind separate trees to strip and phase.
We walked back out and Stef and Matt looked at my wolf in awe. I licked Matt's face affectionately, he laughed.
"I love you too, baby." he's kissed me on my snout.
Jared lowered himself so he could climb on his back.
If you drop him Jared, I will break your legs. I threatened.
Never, Luna. Trust me.
And we started running, Stef kept up with us as we made our way to the well. I stopped behind a tree, transformed back and out my dress back on then walked to the well with the others.
"Okay, Matty. The quickest way for us to get down there is for you to hold onto me and I'll jump down. Don't worry, I'll land lightly on my feet, no harm done.
I grabbed my weapon bag, just in case. Grab one of the large knives just in case.
Are we ready?" I instructed. The three nodded in agreement.
Matt and I stood by the opening of the well, him in front of me, holding on and I jumped in.
We landed silently making a small splash. The snakes started hissing and coming towards us. Matty started jabbing them all in the head or chopping them off to kill them.
When all the snakes were killed, we started searching for the moonstone.
"Everything okay down there?" called Stef.
"Yeah, all the snakes are dead now. We're looking for the moonstone now." I called back.
A few minutes later I found a small wooden chest. I opened it and saw the stone. I showed it to Matt.
"We found it. Lower the chain and I'll hook it to Matt." I yelled.
They lowered the chain and I wrapped it under Matt's arms, making sure it was secured around him.
"All right, pull him up. I'll climb the wall when he's safely out."
They pulled him up slowly until he was at the top, safe and sound.
I put the stone in my bra and started hopping wall to wall inside the well.
Finally, I made it to the top and climbed out. I took the moonstone out and put it in the weapon bag for safer keeping.
Then we stripped again, ran back to my house. Stef took Jared back to the Lockwood's and went back to his house. Matty stayed with me and we took a shower together in my bathroom. Cleaning off all the vervain and snake guts.
When we were dried off, he borrowed some of Dean's clothes and got dressed. I asked him to stay for dinner, which he accepted.
We made our way down to the kitchen. While I started on the food, Matt talked to Sammy, Dean and Dad.
I pulled my phone out while I cooked and called Klaus.
"Isabella, so good to hear from you. Did you retrieve the stone?"
"I did. I have it put somewhere safe. You're welcome to come and get it from me. I'm at my house, the Swan Estate." I responded.
"Thanks love, I'll be right there."
We hung up and I finished cooking dinner.
Just as I set the table, the doorbell rang and I answered it. It was Klaus.
"Hello, Nik, come on in. You're welcome to stay for dinner. There's plenty."
He smiled at me and stepped inside. Charlie walked in and saw Klaus. Klaus walked to him and stuck out his hand.
Charlie shook it. Looking at me.
"Dad, this is Klaus, a friend of mine. I've told you about him and Elijah. Klaus, this is my father and Chief of Police, Charlie." I introduced.
"It's a pleasure to meet you, Chief. You have such a lovely daughter."
"Please, call me Charlie." Dad responded.
The three of us walked to the kitchen and ate dinner. Klaus and Dad were getting to know each other. I stayed silent, just happy to have such a wonderful, diverse family.
We got done eating, Klaus stayed and offered to help me with the dishes. Matt joined.
"So love, thank you for dinner. And also thanks for getting the moonstone. You really didn't have to. I would have found another way."
"I know, Nik. But like I told you, I wanted to. Matt helped me and Jared and Stefan went with us." I reassured with a smile.
Klaus smiled back. "Very well. You know, I met Stefan once. He just doesn't remember. We were actually friends once.
He grew a liking for Rebekah. We met in Chicago in the 1920s."
"You mean when he was still the Ripper of Monterey? No wonder he doesn't remember. He was blacked out for most of the decade."
"Actually. We were at a bar there. We had quite a bit of fun. He taught me a few things.
He doesn't remember because I compelled him to forget." He said.
"Why would you do that?" asked Matt.
"Because Mikael had found Rebekah and I. We had to run and leave Stefan behind. Then I had to dagger my sister again to protect her. She's been in the coffin ever since." he responded sadly.
I hugged him, which he reciprocated. Then we pulled back and I smiled at him.
"How about I get you that moonstone. I'll be back. You two, play nice." I warned them walking away.
I walked up to my room and went to my safe. I put in the combination, took it out and closed it back.
Then I felt a needle go in my neck and my vision started to blur, falling down, I saw a man I didn't recognize, but knew exactly who it was.
