She tried to remember who had talked her into this. It was ridiculous.
Her blonde hair was noticeable, unlike the Weasley red hair. Teddy would have been much better suited to this! He could have changed his appearance to look like absolutely anyone if he was caught!
Oh, yeah. It had been Teddy who had talked her into this. Victoire was so going to get him back for this. If her father didn't hear about this first. He had always been just a little over-protective of her.
"And what are you doing out past curfew?"
Victoire froze. She had hoped the invisibility charm and sound muffling charm would last a lot longer than this. The overestimation of her magical ability had obviously been her downfall, though, especially since she didn't really have an answer. All she was trying to do was…
"Professor, I can explain."
No. She really couldn't, not without diving the rest of the Weasleys away, but she could definitely try.
"I really expected more from you, Miss Weasley. I would have expected this kind of behaviour from any of your cousins, but you? I'm shocked."
Victoire's eyes were cast downwards, and her hands were folded underneath her thighs. She couldn't understand how her cousins could get into trouble as often as they did. It felt awful, and Victoire could already feel an alarming heat burning at the back of her eyes.
She was rarely in this kind of position, having never really broken the rules before, and she definitely wouldn't be doing this again!
"You will be getting a detension, Miss Weasley. I hope you understand, but we cannot play favourites at Hogwarts," the professor's voice was kind, obviously noticing the collecting liquid in her eyes. "Now go to your dorms. I'll send you a note about your detention later this week."
Victoire nodded, and left the room quickly, not wanting to embarrass herself any more.
