If you don't want to read it, the summary is that Zuko was unwillingly forced to accept a Tribute of 2 women from each country (to keep his father out of power). The AU is that Aang didn't run away and fought and died about fifty years ago. Iroh was Fire Lord, won Ba Sing Se, and Ozai is trying to usurp him.

Through devious schemes, Azula got Lu Ten banished which dethroned Iroh since the Fire Lord needs to have at least one heir. Iroh picked Zuko to be the new Firelord, but through more devious schemes Azula and Ozai convinced the public that he was infertile. He escaped to the earth kingdom to have a week of breeding with his wives before returning triumphant before Ozai could be crowned. Ozai was imprisoned and Lu Ten (Iroh's son) became the new Fire Lord.

Zuko lost his bending to his father when he was very young, and he regained it when Azula came to kill his wives during their breeding session. Okay, summarized.
