Arthur and Molly had been incredibly proud when they had managed to purchace one of the more inconspicuous double-storey houses in Ottery St. Catchpole. The building had matched the Lovegood home a little down the way, yet had still stuck out as a stout building amongst vast emptiness.
It had stayed that way even after Percy had been born. Despite that, a pristine spellbook for building found its way to their home in preparation of what was to come.
Bill and Charlie had been allocated their own rooms. As he grew older, Percy had needed a room of his own - so adding an extra room hadn't been too much effort with the spellbook providing the exact enchantment. It was just one more room added to the top of the house, and it hadn't looked too odd once they gave the room a pointed roof. It stuck out a bit, but the Bill and Charlie had loved the view from Percy's room, and Percy had simply liked his brothers being around almost constantly. The stairs became a slide with a cushioning charm at the landing for Percy, with Bill and Charlie whooping down along with him whenever Percy came down for meals.
The twins came next, together with what seemed like an entire wing - and with far more noise than Molly had ever dreamed to be possible. The two boys were inseparable, and Molly would have liked to say that hadn't the heart to give them their own rooms but it was more like she had tried to give them separate rooms, but they had somehow managed to combine the rooms, and push their beds together in complaint. Neither Arthur nor Molly understood how the Twins had managed that with their accidental magic - or how they had somehow managed to use their accidental magic together - but decided against any attempt at undoing it.
Sensing victory as five-year-olds, the two had proudly marched down to dinner, and Percy had tossed a book at them for their pompous behaviour. The ensuing food fight had Molly marching the lot of them to the pond to cool off with threats of leaving them there for the garden gnomes to nibble on their toes.
Ronald had come after them, the pages of the enchantment book becoming brittle and stained with age, and the Twins seemed to take personal offense at the newcomer who was taking up some of the space that had previously been theirs. The twins had caused Ron's laughter and tears within seconds of each other, while Bill and Charlie both realised they had to keep the twins away from their youngest brother.
The guide was cracked open again, and Ginny's room displaced Ron's in the centre of the house - none of her brothers willing to have her on the outskirts - and Ron's bedroom was pushed upwards as a result.
In contrast to Ron, Ginny was welcomed by the twins - Arthur thought it was because Ginny's first bout of accidental magic turned both Fred and George green for a week. Ron had pouted and complained, before Charlie took the opportunity to turn Ron blue. Molly hadn't been particularly impressed, but Fred and George had attempted to high-five their giggling sister once they realised what had happened, and Charlie had been forced to revert the charm he had cast on Ron.
Finally, crinkled and slightly torn, the Guide to Enchanted Buildings was laid to rest above the fireplace.
