The Chosen One

We had started separating the letters from important to not important and so far, none of them were important. Also there had to be hundreds of keys, for what we don't know but what we do know is none of them went to the drawer. "I'm getting tired." I say as I look outside. "The sun is about to set." I look over at Vegeta who is reading intently in a letter.

"I think I found something of importance." He said handing me the letter.

It was addressed to the mechanic from a woman named Panchy. The later was speaking about her being close to death and she was scared. Then I saw it, the hope I had was slowly coming back. I looked up at Vegeta who was actually smiling at me. In beautiful writing it said my name, this letter has just proved me as the daughter of the mechanic, Benjamin Briefs. "I had a family." I said softly. I kept reading the letter. The rest of the letter just spoke about how good I was growing and then I read the date. "This was a week after I was dropped off at the orphanage." I said looking confused at the letter. "Why would she lie?" I wonder looking at the back of the paper after seeing nothing there I throw it in our important file and start looking at the rest of the letters. "We have to figure this out, there should be a good reason she lied about my where abouts, we need to find out." I said grabbing letters and shoving them into Vegeta's lap.

He sighs at me and just starts to read. "Okay women." He says indulging in my fantasies.

I wipe a tear away from my face as I grab keys to test for on the drawer.

3 HOURS LATER

"I haven't found anything else; it seems after that letter your mother wrote she wrote to him 3 more times and then she passed." Vegeta said looking over the last few letters. "Do any of those keys work?" He asked looking up at me.

I slowly shock my head as I wiped tears away from my face. Vegeta looked away and rubbed the back of his neck. "Bulma" Vegeta softly said my name and walked up behind me. "I know this is kind of disappointing…" I didn't let him finish, I was pissed, and I had nobody else to take it out on but him.

"Kind of disappointing? No this is extremely fucking disappointing." I said turning to him with rage in my eyes. "I finally find out who my parents are, and my father basically just left, my mother is dead and to top it off she sent letters to my father lying about where I was." I threw the drawer down on the floor. "I get so fucking close to find out who I am, and it turns out I'm fucking late, so if you would like to rephrase how I feel then that would be fucking dandy." I say picking the drawer back up and throwing it again at the wall.

As the drawer hits the wall, we hear the contents drop out on the floor. I watch as papers and pictures fall out of the now broken drawer. "I told you we should've broken it." Vegeta says not taking his eyes off the broken drawer.

I roll my eyes and pick up the pictures. The first one I saw was of a man with lavender hair and a mustache holding a black cat standing next to a heavily pregnant women smiling. I turn the picture over and it reads 'Panchy 8 months, kitty and myself' I put my hand over my mouth in shock. "That's my parents." I say handing the picture to Vegeta. I look through the rest of the pictures and stop at one of my mother's holding me and smiling at my father who is smiling at me.

"You look just like your mother." Vegeta says looking over my shoulder. I look back at him smiling, he smirks and looks down at the rest of what was in the drawer. "What's that?" He says bending down and picking up an orange glass looking ball that has 3 glowing stars in it. "Wait a second." Vegeta walks back to the bookshelf and grabs one of the journals. "Your father wrote about this." he flips to the page and shows me.

I read quickly. "It's called a Dragon Ball and there are actually 7 of them, he says that he came to planet Vegeta in search of them to try and bring my mother back. Once all collected you can wish for anything, even brining someone back from the dead." I looked up at Vegeta shocked. "Why'd he stop?"

Vegeta had a look of realization come across his face. "Because you can't bring back someone who died of natural causes only if they were murdered." He said handing me the ball. "I remember in primary school my asinine teacher speaking out them and said they were only a myth." He took the book back and read a little more. "From what he says here the last person to use them was over hundreds of years ago and it wasn't on planet Vegeta but on Earth." He says closing the book. "So, if I ever die you know what to do." He said giving me a coy smile.

"Haha very funny." I said shoving the ball back at him and searched the rest of the contents. I rummage through the rest of the stuff and find a letter addressed to me. I open it and read what's in it. "He was looking for me." I continue reading. "It doesn't say why my mother lied but it does say he was found and had to run, but who found him?" I look up at Vegeta confused who was started on another journal. "I'm so confused." I sit down in the chair next to Vegeta and lay my forehead on his shoulder. I feel his body stiffen under me, but I don't move. After a little while I feel his arm lay across my shoulders and his chin rest on the top of my head. My head slides down to his chest and I hear his heart beating rapidly. "I'm sorry if this makes you uncomfortable, I just needed human contact." I said feeling my eyes start to water.

I hear Vegeta chuckle. "I'm not a human but I understand." His voice was soft like before I yelled at him. I felt him squeeze me tighter. "We should go ask if the people of this town have food for us." He said slowly moving his arm away from me. "I'll go and you can freshen up." He says as he stands and walks out the room towards the front door.

CASTLE

"Lord Frieza your father has summoned your presence over the monitor." Frieza sighed heavily.

"Patch me through." Frieza said rubbing his temples.

King Cold's very angry looking face appeared on the screen. "Frieza you said this would be an in and out mission but so far all I've seen is failure." The King crossed his arms and leaned back into his chair. "You've killed King Vegeta, you've let that monkey and his women escape and worst of all you don't even know where they are!" King Cold glared daggers at his son. "I'm contemplating sending in your brother." Frieza's body tensed up and his tail flicked behind him in anger.

"Father, there is no reason to bring Cooler into this." Frieza started to pace and put his hands behind his back. "I've killed King Vegeta in hopes to lure his son and the women out in hiding and I didn't let them escape my incompetent General did." Frieza said looking back at Zarbon who was kneeling behind him. "Father, please I can finish this." Frieza said smirking up at his father.

King Cold sighed heavily as he pinched the bridge between his nose. "If this isn't finished soon, I will be sending your brother." He quickly ended the call.

Frieza dropped his smirk into a deep frown. "Zarbon come here please." Frieza said in a cold voice. Zarbon slithered up to him slowly and shaking a little. The shorter man grabbed him by his long ponytail and threw him across the room. "IF YOU DON'T FIND THAT DAMN MONKEY AND THAT BITCH, HE'S WITH I'M GOING TO SHOVE YOUR STUPID HEAD UP SOMEONE'S ASS!" Frieza screamed at the top of his lungs. Zarbon wiped the blood that was leaking from his head and recently earned wound from Bulma and ran to the exit. Frieza watched him scurry out of the room, when he was gone the lizard screamed and started destroying the thrown room. "If my brother comes, I'm killing him and every god damn monkey on this disgusting planet!" Frieza said through gritted teeth.

"Sir there is some more news that needs your immediate attention." A small woman came into view she stayed close to the door in case she needed to run. Frieza waved his hand signaling her to go on. "There have been reports of a resistance in the west part of the city, a group lead by the head of security and majority of the elite worriers." The women read the report then gasped as she looked up seeing Frieza right in front of her face.

"If you don't leave now, I'm going to murder you." He said lowly in a calm voice. His eyes stayed on the spot as the women quickly left the room.

A/N: Well it's starting to get easier and easier to write. I can feel the words easily flowing out of me so the next few chapters should be coming back to back.
