The Chosen One

Before we left the village, we told Okira what had happened, she gave us a bag of provisions and words of encouragement. We watched from the sky while the small village evacuated their homes. I felt hot tears sting my eyes. "We've doomed them." I say softly. Vegeta grunted as we flew away.

"I know a place we can go." Vegeta says as he fly's away from the village. "Hopefully, he's home." He says as he holds me tighter.

"Who is he?" I ask holding tight onto his neck.

Vegeta looks at me and it looks like he was blushing a little. "You don't know him; he retired the year you came." He says flying a little faster.

I just nod my head. "So why did you stop talking to me after we had sex." I say not even trying to hide my annoyance. "Did you regret doing it, because I would like to state that you started it." I feel him looking at me.

"It's not that." He said and this time he was definitely blushing. "I didn't expect this to come that easy." Vegeta sighed deeply. "While we were having sex, I initiated a mating ritual of my people." He said slightly changing out direction. "I bit your neck, initiating the ritual claiming you as my mate and I was shocked and confused." I never heard of this mating ritual till now so saying I was confused was a complete understatement. "I obviously planned to find a mate, but I didn't expect it to come this easy, I thought I would be in control when it happened." Vegeta looked so confused, like he didn't know what to believe anymore. "I never felt something like that come over me, I was being controlled by me instincts and it was a little shocking."

"What happens if I don't do it back?" I asked softly.

Vegeta sighed again, stopped flying and looked me deep in my eyes. "I don't know." He said, it looked like sadness flashed into his eyes. He started flying again.

We didn't talk about it for the rest of the way. Once we got to where we were going, Vegeta put me down softly and turned me towards him. "If you are confused by this I understand and if you don't feel the same way I get it, I'm not going to pressure you into anything." He said then started walking towards the house.

Vegeta went up to the big door and knocked loudly. "WHO THE FUCK IS IT?" We heard the loud voice yell from the other side of the door. The door swung open and a big bald man was standing were the door once was. "Holy shit." The man said then quickly kneeled. "Your majesty." He said then stood back up and then smiled and him and Vegeta grabbed each other's forearms in a Vegetasi salute.

"It's been too long Napa." Vegeta said smirking.

The man named Napa smiles and steps aside to let us in. "What brings you to my little shit hole Prince Vegeta?" He asks looking a little confused when he sees me walk in.

We both look at each other quizzically then back to him. "You don't know what has happened do you?" I ask looking at the extremely large man easily maneuver in his house.

He shook his head. "No, I've been off the grid in my own solitude for the past 6 months, I route all my mail through family and only a select few people know I'm here."

Vegeta and I explain what has transpired for the past few days and why we showed up to his place.

Napa plopped down on the couch and help his head. "Wow well whatever you need I'm here." He said standing up and putting his hand on Vegeta's shoulder.

"Do you have food?" Vegeta asks, Napa nodded and walks towards the kitchen.

"I recently stocked up on food so there should be enough for a few months." He says then walks back to the living room. "There only one spare room, if you 2 don't mind sharing it I can get out my extra cot." Vegeta looked at me and I felt heat rush to my cheeks. I shrugged my shoulders trying to act nonchalant. "I also have some women's clothing, their my late wife's but I'm sure you could fit." He gave me a soft smile and I gave one in return.

He left to go retrieve everything leaving Vegeta and I alone in the living room. "Vegeta I wanted to thank you for saving me." I looked down at my hands and picked at my nails. "I know you felt obligated to do so but still…thanks." I looked up and smiled at him.

"It's not that I felt obligated I can't allow anyone to hurt you, even though the ritual hasn't been completed I am bound to you." He says walking up to me and softly putting his hand on my cheek. We looked each other deep in the eyes. I felt myself slowly leaning into his hand.

The door quickly and loudly swung open and we swiftly backed away from each other. "Okay this box has all the clothes and I'll go set up this cot in the spare bedroom." Napa hands me the box and goes upstairs.

I put the box down and look up to see Vegeta heading upstairs. Heavily sighing I begin to rummage through the box.

A few hours had passed since we first got to Napa's house, I had changed into a black spandex suit, a green chest plate, and black boots. The outfit didn't really fit my style, but I was still grateful to be out of my father's pajamas. Napa was able to find some of his old battle suits and give them to Vegeta to wear. I had taken the food Napa had and made us all a meal. "This smells delicious, you got lucky with this mate Prince Vegeta." Napa said smiling down at the food.

I blush heavily not knowing whether to correct him or not. "She's not my mate." Vegeta says lowly as he starts to eat his food.

Napa looked confused. "But your scent is all over her and the markings on her neck…" Napa quickly stopped talking when Vegeta shot him an angry scowl. "I must be mistaken." The older man says then starts scarfing down his food.

I didn't say anything because it was true, I'm not his mate but for some reason it still hurt when Vegeta said that. "I hope you both enjoy." I say giving a fake smile then sitting down to eat my food. The rest of the meal was finished in silence. I quickly finished my meal, put my plate in the sink and went upstairs to the room Vegeta and I will be sharing. A few moments later Vegeta comes in and sits on the cot. "So, what's the plan?" I ask pacing the room trying to break the awkward silence.

"Well we need to figure out how to get back into the city, we could probably use the underground sewer system, but I don't know if they've infiltrated that yet." Vegeta said still with his back turned towards me. "Tomorrow I'll try and use Napa's old Scouter to see if there are any frequencies that are being used and if there are any survivors." Vegeta started taking off his boots and chest armor.

I nod my head and do the same. "Vegeta, I have a question" I sit on my bed facing him. He throws his boots in the pile of clothes he made at the foot of his cot, he then turns and looks at me. "How would I finish the mating tradition?" I blush hard and start to fiddle with my hands. "I just…" I was quickly cut off by Vegeta pulling me up off the bed and kissing me.

He kissed me hard and passionately. His arms snaked around my waist and he held me tight. I wrap my arms around his neck to deepen the kiss. I feel his hand start pulling at my chest plate. I pull back and quickly take it off once it's off I'm pulled back into his chest and hot kisses are trailed down my neck. "You just do as I did, once you feel it's the right time you bite my neck." He says in between kisses. He trails back up to my neck and stops then looks me in my eyes. "But only when you feel comfortable." He doesn't kiss me again until I nod my head confirming I understand what he is saying.

I start pulling at his top, but we are quickly interrupted by the door swinging open. "Oh fuck!" We both turn to the door and hear the familiar voice. We quickly pull apart, Vegeta pulls me behind him and hold onto my wrist protectively. "You guys are alive!" I feel tears start to well up in my eyes.

"Goku" I say softly letting a breath of relief flow out.

"They were also a little busy." We look towards the other person smirking devilishly at us.

"Oh, shut up Raditz." Vegeta said slowly letting go of my wrist.
