The Chosen One
I woke up to my armor being thrown at me. "Wake up, we're forming up and heading out in 20 minutes." Vegeta said then turned to change himself. "I just finished talking with Bardock and the other generals, we're going to storm the capitol as a diversion for us to go search the palace for my mother and brother." After he finished dressing, he turn to me and looked me in my eyes. "You will be at my side at all time, the only time you can leave my side is if I'm dead or I tell you to go find Bardock. Do you understand?" He waited for my response.
I rolled my eyes and was ready to say something sarcastic when I felt his hands grab my upper arms. "This is a battlefield Bulma, people are going to be dying and killing, I need to know that you understand." He sounded very calm about everything; it was kind of weird. "Please" He loosened the grip on my arm and started to gently caress my arm where he grabbed me.
"I understand, I promise." I said about to turn around until he handed me a scouter.
"If for some reason we get separated, find Bardock, Kakarot, Raditz or somewhere to hind, then press this button and I will find you." I took the scouter out his hand and inspected it, I looked up at him and smiled while nodding my head. He smirked back to me and went to finish getting ready.
Once we were both dressed Vegeta looked me over to make sure my armor was secured tightly to my body and put on correctly. We then headed to where everyone was forming up. As we walked through the crowd, people were making a path and bowed as we passed, a few people slammed their fists over their heart and confessed their unwavering duty to die on the battlefield for their King and Queen, I felt my face turn red, but I bowed my head as Vegeta shook their hands. "How does it feel the be Queen of warriors?" Vegeta whispered to me as we got to the front of the ranks.
I smirked at him. "Powerful" Is all I said as I turned to look out on the sea of people, my people now, my family.
Vegeta smirked at me then yelled a loud war cry which was matched by everyone in the compound. Vegeta started to levitate so everyone could get a good look at him. "Today we take back our land, today isn't just about the palace or about our enemies, today is about showing the entire galaxy that Vegetasi is a force to be reckoned with!" Vegeta voice projected across the whole compound, it was filled with hate and dripping with confidence. "Our king was slaughtered like an animal and left on the ground by those beasts, I think its time to show them who the real animals are!" The crowd started to yell in pure rage, I saw men pushing each other trying to hype one another up, I saw men smearing each other's face in battle paint, and a few were even praying. I felt my heart swell with pride and my mouth turned into a Vegeta like smirk, I wasn't even fighting but Vegeta's words made me want to murder everyone who chose to fight alongside Frieza.
Bardock came up to me and put his hand on my shoulder. "Your people are a very wild bunch, and their Queen needs to be equally as wild." He smiled at me then began to scream out his war cry. I again look to my people and smiled, I screamed out a war cry but not just for Vegetasi but for my father, my mother and for my plant that will be destroyed if Frieza is not stopped.
A few moments later the yelling stopped, and everyone was still looking to Vegeta. "We may die today but just know that the blood of our enemies will cover the battlefield in a vail of victory!" Vegeta ended his speech with a fist over his heart. As he floated down, he made eye contact with me. "Did my speech give you chills." He said as he smirked at me. I chuckled and rolled my eyes, leaving his question unanswered. As we started walking towards the battle, I felt my stomach in my throat, things were about to change for ever.
1 HOUR LATER
"Okay women, relay back to me what you do once we reach the gates." Vegeta tightened his boots as we talked. We were a few miles outside the gate once we got close enough Kakarot and a few other soldiers went to go inform Frieza's outpost we're on our way.
I sighed heavily. This was the 4th time he has asked me to do this. "Vegeta, this is the 4th time, I know what to do please just trust me." I said crossing my arms and huffing.
Vegeta looked up and me and then around to see what company we were with. He stood up and walked towards me and grabs my hands. "Saiyan men don't show affection when entering battle and as you know I'm not good at showing it anyway." Vegeta let go of a deep sigh and squeezed my hands tighter. "If it seems that I don't trust you because I keep quizzing you then that is incorrect, I am just worried and have no other way to express myself." Vegeta quickly kissed my hands and then walked away to go talk to Bardock.
"You and the King look very cozy." I heard the familiar voice of my best friend.
I smiled and shrugged my shoulders. "Well, he is my mate, I would hope we look cozy." Chichi gasped and grabbed my hands.
"When everything settles, we have to talk." She said giving me a hug. "Are you staying here with the medical tents or are you going to be at the General's post?" Chichi smiled as she let me go.
I find a nice size rock for us to sit on and sigh heavily. "I'm going to be in the action with Vegeta, we are going after Frieza." After finished I felt Chichi's hands slip out of mine. "I know it sounds crazy but there's a reason he's coming after me." I look up into her eyes and don't see any of her normal anger, she looked at me as if she knew all along.
Chichi nodded her head and allowed one tear to shed. "I was hoping you said the medical tents." She said chuckling. "But I wish you all the luck, I know that you and our King will save us and our planet." She bowed her head and as she raised her head, I pulled her in for a tight hug. We sat there for a moment and just embarrassed each other, we let go of each other and Chichi stood up. Vegeta came back to my side and bowed his head to Chichi, she bowed back. "My King." She looked to me and smiled then bowed deeply and stood back up. "My Queen." Chichi placed her hand on my ankle then walked away.
I watched her walk for a moment then looked up to Vegeta. "Are you ready?" I asked smiling at him.
"I'm supposed to ask you that." He said while chuckling.
I stood up and nodded my head. "Let's go get this freak." I said then started walking towards the palace.
After a few miles of walking, we finally made it to the front gates. Once we got there a few soldiers aimed Ki blasts at the gates and released them. The gates broke open and as the first rank of soldiers entered the courtyard, they were met with Frieza's army. The battle has started.
Once Vegeta and I saw the first explosion we speeded towards the gate, as we entered the courtyard, we fought our way to the outskirts of the courtyard. And by fighting our way I mean Vegeta was blasting multiple ki blasts at a time as I backpacked tightly to his back. As we slithered along the wall, I tried to keep tunnel vision just like Vegeta showed me. I could hear my own heart beating, and as another ki blast caused an explosion and cool breeze went past my body. As the breeze cooled me and my heart finally caught up.
The loud thuds were gone, and I could hear the brutality of the battle, I started to look and my whole body went into shock instantly. I stopped running and staired in pure horror at what I was seeing. I watched Kakarot tear one man limb from limb and crush another's skull under his boot. I turned my gaze to Raditz using a man as a human shield to block a sword. Bardock came up behind the soldier holding the sword and punched a hole right through his chest.
My stomach started to turn at the smell of death all around me. I felt like screaming, passing out and throwing up all at once. I don't know what I was thinking, I should have listened to Vegeta and stayed at the medical tents. "I can't do this." I said lowly.
Vegeta snatched me by the shoulders making me look at him. "Women, I need you to get out of your head, we have a mission to do and for us to be victorious you need to snap out of it." He looked at me and his mouth was telling me I could do it, but his eyes sang a different song.
"No Vegeta, I can't. I should've listened to you in the first place, I'm so sorry I can't do this." I felt hot tears stream down my face. Two men tackled each other right next to us, the sudden interruption startled me, and I screamed. Vegeta grabbed me and slung me over his shoulder and flew straight for the palace. I started to panic as I watched the blood bath wiz by my eyes. "Vegeta please, take me back." I screamed as I closed my eyes and tried to calm myself before I had a panic attack.
"Women, we are already here and you're seeing this through till the end." He yelled as her blew a ki beam straight through the palace doors. Once inside he started blasting ki beams at the few soldiers who were guarding the door.
Once they were all dead Vegeta put me down. I held onto his shoulders for support. "Vegeta, I saw people being murdered." I put one hand on my forehead wiping the sweat off it. "I don't know if I can do this." Hot tears were still running down my face.
Vegeta grabbed me by my arms and gave me a slight shake. "Listen women, you can do this! Do you think I would allow you to be here if I didn't think you were strong enough to do this?" He said looking me deep into my eyes. "Remember how you felt before we headed out this morning, remember that feeling of hate and the how ready you felt to take this bastard down. Put that feeling into you stomach and let it start a fire." He placed his hand over my stomach, I felt a slight heat there and I could feel it climbing up to my throat. I opened my eyes and looked to Vegeta.
"I'm ready" I said nodding.
A few moments later Bardock and Raditz caught up to us. "Kakarot is leading the men now, lets do this." Raditz said as he wiped blood onto his chest plate.
Vegeta and Raditz took the lead and I walked with Bardock. "Did you see anything." He asked knowing the answer already. I nodded my head. "I'm sorry if you saw me in a manner unknown to you…"
I quickly cut him off. "Don't apologize for defending your planet." I said grabbing his hand. I knew he as well as Raditz were covered in blood, but I was not about to make two important people in my life unwanted, I knew that feeling all too well. "I cracked but I gained my senses. I nodded and then looked forward.
"Okay, the throne room is straight ahead Vegeta, and I are going to go check it out." Raditz said as him and Vegeta rushed the door, as they walked into the room, I heard a loud gasp.
