Shelby was driving towards the cabin. "Kelly can I ask you a question?"

"Sure?"

"Do you think Ashley is going to show up tonight?"

Kelly tensed up a bit. "I told her not too. I'm over her drama and pettiness."

"Has she always been like this?"

"No. She use to be really cool and down to earth."

"What happened?"

"She made the cheerleading squad, got her braces off and colored her hair."

"Ah. I've seen that happen many times. Well hopefully she will listen and not show up tonight."

They finally made it the Cabin. Shelby had parked next to Kelly's Camaro. It was like a line of cars followed them to the cabin because soon the whole area was full of cars and teenagers. Shelby grabbed her bag from the back seat.

"Care if I go change in the cabin?"

"Go for it. I'll grab us a couple beers."

"Sounds good." Shelby walked to the cabin to change out of her homecoming dress. Once she was changed she headed back outside. Kelly was standing just outside the cabin waiting for her.

He was chatting with Casey and Andy. Shelby stood next to Kelly. "Hey."

"Hey you remembered to dress warm this time."

Shelby playfully hit Kelly's arm. "Hey don't be mean. I've been in Florida for the past year." Shelby took the beer that Kelly had in his hand. She took the top off and took a drink. "So how often do you have these parties?"

"This will probably be the last big one. Since it's about to start getting cold and snowing."

Shelby took a drink of her beer. "Ugh I forgot it snows up here." Kelly chuckled.

"We still have smaller get togethers once the weather turns."

They stood around and talked for a bit till they all needed new drinks. They headed over towards the fire where all the coolers were. They each grabbed another beer. Andy and Matt went to go find Hallie and Heather.

"So are Andy and Heather a thing?" Shelby and Kelly had started walking around.

"Yeah they've been together for little over a year. Casey and Hallie have been dating for about 6 months. Why you like Andy?"

Shelby playfully push Kelly. "Ha no. Just curious."

"Good."

"Oh and why's that?"

"Because I think your pretty cutie." Shelby started to blush and linked arms with Kelly. "Look I know you said you weren't looking for a relationship because you'll be leaving at the end of the school year but I don't care. I want to see where we would go."

They stopped walking and faced each other. "Well I never got the chance to tell you but my parents are letting me finish high school here in Chicago no moving."

Kelly got this big goofy grin on his face. "So what do say be my girlfriend?"

Before Shelby could answer there was this annoying voice yelling Kelly's name. Shelby groaned and turned around there was Ashley.

"Kelly!" She walked over to them. Shelby could smell the alcohol coming out of her pores.

"Ashley, I thought I told you not to come here tonigh?." Kelly was annoyed. This girl did not give up.

"Oh you didn't mean that baby. You know you want me in your bed tonight." Was this bitch serious? Shelby rolled her eyes.

"Ashley no. I told you we were over. We are done. Completely. Now please leave."

"Oh your just saying that because she's here." Ashely was eyeing Shelby up and down and then turned her head back to Kelly.

"Hey look here bitch. He told you to leave now leave. He doesn't want you."

Her head snapped to look back at Shelby.. "Stay out of this. He will chew you up and spit you out then come crawling back to me. He always does."

A few of Ashley's friends came over. "Ashley let's go."

"No!"

Andy and Matt had walked over at this point and stood between them and Ashley. "You can leave on your own or Matt and I can help you leave."

"You're choice." Matt and Andy were staring her down.

"Ugh!!!" Ashley stormed off back towards the cars. Her friends followed and they left.

Matt and Andy turned to face Kelly and Shelby. "Kelly, you need to tell someone. She is psycho."

"Matt is right man. She is about to snap."

"I'll make some calls and talk to the school see if they can help." They both nodded and left Kelly and Shelby alone. "I'm so sorry about that."

"Kelly they are right. You need to do something."

Kelly placed both of his hands on her shoulders and gave them a little squeeze. "I will I promise."

Kelly and Shelby had returned to the cabin because it was starting to get cold out. Kelly grabbed them a few beers and they headed inside the cabin and sat on the couch.

Kelly handed her one of the beers. "So you never gave me an answer."

"To what?"

"Before the drama with Ashley. I asked you to be my girlfriend."

"Do you think that it's a good idea with how crazy Ashley is being?"

"I'm not going to let Ashley stop me from living my life."

Shelby thought about it for a minute taking a few sips of her beer. "I'd like that."

"Really?"

"Yes Kelly really." Kelly got this big goofy grin on his face.

"So next friday I want to take you on an actual date. Dinner."

"Sounds wonderful Kelly." Shelby was so happy to finally be living her life. For so many years She had been just trying to not make lasting connections because She knew she would leave.

Suddenly the cabin door burst open. Kelly and Shelby jump but then they realize it's only Matt, Andy, Hallie, and Heather. "Jesus guys. Try not to break the door down."

"Sorry Kelly." Hallie and Heather both seemed as though they were at least tipsy. "Anyone else still out there?"

"No everyone else left." They came and joined them in the living room. Shelby moved closer to Kelly so to make room on the couch. Kelly wrapped an arm around her shoulders and pulled her closer to him. "So what's the deal with you two?"

"Matt seriously? You just can't ask that." Hallie smacked Matt playfully.

"Ow." Matt rubbed the spot on his arm that Hallie had hit.

"Hallie it's fine. We are going to see where things go." Shelby could feel Kelly tighten his grip on her a little bit. Shelby just smiled. She don't know why she felt so at peace in his arms. She had never felt this before.

They finished the beers they had in the cabin. Hallie and Matt had fallen asleep. Andy and Heather were not far behind them.

"Well guys I think I'm going to head to bed."

"Boo Kelly your no fun!"

"And your drunk Heather." Kelly tapped Shelby's shoulder signaling for her to get up. Kelly and Shelby stood up.

Shelby yawned. "I think I'm going to go to bed as well."

"Goodnight you two! Try and keep the noise down!"

Kelly shot Heather a look. Shelby then followed Kelly to the bedroom. He closed the door behind them . "I'm sorry about that."

"It's okay Kelly. She's drunk." Honestly Shelby was a little tipsy if not drunk herself. "I can't sleep in jeans and I forgot to bring something to sleep in. So you are just going to have deal with me sleeping in my underwear."

Kelly laughed at her. "Well I'm sleeping in my boxers. So we are even." Kelly stripped down to his boxers. Shelby slipped off her jeans and took her bra off.

"How do you girls do that?"

"Do what?"

"Take off your bra without removing your shirt?"

"Talent." They pulled back the blankets and laid down. Shelby laid pretty close to Kelly but not touching him. She kind of wanted to cuddle but it felt to soon. They don't even know each other that well yet.

"I won't bite you know."

"You sure?"

Kelly had this smirk on his faces. "Well maybe a little." Kelly lifted up his arm and Shelby moved in next to him. Laying her head on his chest. He laid his arm on her shoulder. "Goodnight Shelby."

"Goodnight Kelly."

They both drifted off to sleep.
