Yuu woke up to a familiar face staring down at her.
"Mato!" Yuu squealed, sitting up. "You're back!"
It felt to Yuu that she hadn't seen the round face and short pigtails of her friend in months.
Mato nodded and grinned.
"Black Rock Shooter's hand has healed enough to not cause any pain." She said holding her right hand up.
Yuu looked at the gnarled extremity and grimaced.
"I know what it looks like." Mato said brightly. "But it works."
She flexed all of her fingers one by one then made a fist.
"So they were right?" Yuu said sadly. "Injuries they get can transfer over to us?"
"Lucky Black Rock Shooter thought of it, otherwise I'd be dead." Mato smiled.
"You sound happy about that." Yuu said shaking her head.
"I'd forgotten what being out felt like, it's been so long." Mato said, still smiling.
"About four days." Yuu replied.
Mato nodded.
"So what's going on?" Mato asked. "I've been kinda in and out of it since Black Rock Shooter exploded her cannon." She added in response to Yuu tilting her head. "Everything before the hangar is a bit of a blur."
Yuu looked sadly at Mato's hospital gown.
"Well, we're either extremely dangerous criminals who cannot be controlled or contained." Yuu spat. "Or we're not worth the Justice League's time and effort. They can't seem to make up their minds."
"What makes us so dangerous?" Mato asked confused.
Yuu shook her head.
"That's the thing, neither Strength or I can figure that out." Yuu said in frustration. "The Otherselves are just very hard to kill and heavily armed. In this world that should just be a boring day for them."
"Yeah, even the Titan's wouldn't bat an eye at that. Remember Doctor Light?" Mato asked.
"You certainly did a number on him." Yuu giggled. "I don't think I'd seen anyone that scared."
Mato dropped her head.
"I didn't mean to."
"I know Mato, I know." Yuu said, stroking Mato's hair. "But I think that's what caused Robin to consider us so dangerous."
"I remember that Batman had been snooping around their database." Mato replied.
"Those two know each other very well." Yuu said.
"Yeah, Black Rock Shooter said something similar." Mato said.
They sat in silence for a long moment.
You know the plan? Yuu signed, barely moving.
Mato nodded, she brought her left hand up to her right armpit.
Yuu nodded a reply.
"When do we start?" Mato asked aloud.
"How about now? You ready?" Yuu suggested.
Mato stood up and closed her eyes, with a faint glow, Rock took over her body. The hospital gown dissolved as Rock's own clothing appeared on her body.
Rock flexed her arm and ran her hands appreciatively over her long jacket.
"It's been a while hasn't it?" Yuu smiled, before also switching.
Rock nodded and retrieved a small black box from under her armpit, she opened it and pulled out a small green ring.
"Really?" Strength asked stepping over. "That's what's going to get us out?"
Rock shrugged then glanced at Strengths metal hands.
"Yeah, no way I'm gonna be able to wear that." Strength replied.
Rock placed the ring on each of her fingers, including her thumb, only to find it was too big. Even over her gloves, she frowned and drew her sword.
Strength watched in confusion as Rock cut a few strands of hair out of her longest pigtail and braided them together, she then put the braid through the ring, put the ring on her middle finder of her left hand and wrapped the ends around her wrist.
"All good?" Strength asked.
Rock shook her wrist a few times to ensure the ring was secured then nodded.
"Right." Strength smiled. "Let's get out of here."
She walked over to the door and forced it open, electricity arced between the door and frame, she hissed as it ran over her body causing her dress to smoulder.
"Damn, wasn't expecting that!" Strength muttered, patting her dress down. "That hurt."
Rock could only nod, it had looked painful.
"Remember, stick together." Strength said, pulling her hood up. "We're not out to fight these guys."
Alarms blared as Rock nodded slowly.
"Right, so if all the manga Yuu has read is correct." Strength shouted over the alarms as the pair ran. "The control room, or something like it, should be at the top of the station."
"Stop there!" A voice shouted.
Strength and Rock stopped and turned to see Batman and Diana speeding towards them.
"Ahh shit, that was quick." Strength muttered, glancing over to Rock.
"Keep running, don't stop." She said.
Rock nodded, they both started running again
"Halt!" Diana shouted behind them.
Suddenly Rock was pulled backwards, disappearing from Strength's field of vision.
Strength skidded to a stop and looked around, Rock was being held by the taller woman. Her strong arms wrapped around Rock's tiny waist as the Otherself struggled to release herself.
"Put her down!" Strength shouted. "We only want to leave!"
"You can't leave until we've determined what to do with you." Batman said, stepping forwards.
"You're a dick Bruce, we're lost in another reality, we just want to go home." Strength told him.
"We have your friend, surrender if you don't want her to get hurt." Diana demanded.
"That's dark." Strength muttered, she raised her fingertips towards them.
"What makes you think you could hurt her?" She asked.
At a nod from Rock, Strength opened fire. Diana dropped Rock and raised her gauntleted hands to deflect the bullets. Batman rolled round of the way and took shelter behind a corner. Rock ran through the hail of gunfire towards Strength, passing her and continuing on.
Strength followed backwards, continuing to fire as she did. She stopped when she heard the tell-tale whine of Rock's cannon materialising and used her hands to propel herself to the ceiling. Forcing her fingers into the metal plating, she swung towards Rock, hand over hand above the bullets from Rock's Gatling cannon form.
Strength spotted Green Lantern and Superman approach from behind the pale Otherself. As she reached Rock she tore her way through the ceiling and electrical devices to the floor above. She dropped down and pointed to her back.
"Get on, we're going up." She said to Rock.
Rock slung an arm around Strengths neck and firmly grasped her collar, her cannon retracted into its base form as she lurched upwards, carried by Strength.
When they got to the floor above Strength didn't stop, she ripped her way through steel and cables, passing dozens of floors.
Eventually they entered a large room, with windows looking out onto space and the Earth. A dizzying array of screens covered nearly every wall, consoles and obscure machines were laid out in rows.
In the middle of the room was a large archway filled with blue light, it swirled and rippled as it shone.
"Is that?" Strength started to ask.
Rock nodded and she unhooked her arm and stood up.
"A portal, they've had a portal all this time!" Strength cried, smashing a console in frustration.
Rock stepped closer to it.
"It's different though, it's the wrong colour." Strength stated.
"What colour should it be?" Said Superman flying up through the hole in the floor.
"Multicoloured, like our home." Strength said sadly, she realised who spoke and whirled around.
Rock drew her sword as he was joined by Green Lantern and Diana.
"You could've sent us away anytime!" Strength yelled.
"It's a teleporter, not a dimension jump." Superman stated. "It can't send you anywhere but Earth."
Strength looked around and Rock and tilted her head.
Rock shook hers in reply.
Strength glanced down at the Rock Cannon and Rock shrugged then pointed her head in Superman's direction.
"Right." Strength muttered, she looked up at Superman who was hovering several feet off the floor.
"We might be able to change that. Can we please try?" Strength pleaded.
"We can't allow that." Superman replied.
"Why? We want to leave!" Strength cried. "You won't have to worry about us again, we'll be gone for good!"
"You must pay for your crimes!" Diana snarled.
Christ, was I ever this arrogant as an adult? Yuu asked.
No, but you're a better person. Strength replied.
Diana's next words were cut off as a rock exploded in her face.
Strength leapt into action, she jumped at Diana, grabbing her leg and slamming her into the ground. Rock spring-boarded off Strength's back straight towards Superman, who reached out to grab her. As he did so, Rock punched him with her left hand and knocked him backwards. He dropped to the ground and crumbled in a heap as Rock stood over him. She dove out of the way as a large, glowing green mace appeared in front of her and swung towards her.
Diana had gotten up and drawn her sword to attack Strength, the smaller teen was parrying with her metal hands, desperately trying to keep up with the faster woman. Eventually she got a good grip on the sword and crushed it into a thin sliver of twisted metal, she yanked it out of Diana's hands and threw it away.
The amazon flew upwards and unhooked a length of robe from her belt, she swung it around and threw the lassoed end at Strength who barely grabbed it before in wrapped around her.
The rope started glowing gold as she felt a pressure growing in her mind.
"Who are you, and why are you here?" Diana demanded.
Strength found herself being forced to talk.
"We are Otherselves from an alternate reality, our world broke and we fell into the void until we landed here. We want to go home."
She shook her head quickly and wrenched the rope towards her, dragging Diana closer, when the black-haired woman was within reach she slammed her fist into her sending her crashing into the opposite wall.
Rock was dodging all the green constructs that Green Lantern was creating, she had removed the green ring, hooked it onto the hilt of her sword and thrust the sword into Superman's chest, immobilising him.
"Stand still!" Green Lantern growled as he tried to summon chains to tier her up with.
Rock slid under the chains and pointed her cannon at him, she fired a blast which exploded against the green glow surrounding him but left him unharmed. A hail of bullets pummelled into his side and Strength ran over to them.
Rock used to momentary distraction to stand up.
"Wand, portal." Strength shouted as she ran past.
Rock concentrated on creating the wand cannon she used earlier and pointed it at the portal, she focussed on releasing a stream of energy rather than a blast.
"Do it!" Strength screamed as she flung herself in the air at Green Lantern and brought both fists down on him.
Rock concentrated all her willpower into the energy and fired it at the portal, immediately computers nearby sparked and exploded. She could feel deep rumblings from deep down in the Watchtower as the excess energy flowed into the portal.
Diana got to her feet and shook off the disorientation, she spotted Superman lying on the floor with a sword in his chest and Green Lantern trying to get Strength off him. She raced to Superman but was forced to roll to the side by gunfire impacting the floor ahead of her.
Tiny flecks of pink and yellow appeared in the portal.
Strength pushed herself off Green Lantern and ran over to Rock.
"It's working." She said, seeing that Rock had her eyes closed.
Batman and J'onn ran through the entrance.
"Stay back!" Strength shouted, as she transformed her hands into Vulcan cannons. I'll tear this place apart!"
The standing members looked on in amazement as Strength's hands morphed and at the shining blue portal which was slowly getting more colours added to it.
"What's happening?" Batman growled.
Green Lantern shook his head, he raised his fist to mouth and spoke.
"Ring, analyse."
"The Justice League teleporter is being charged in excess of safety limits, current energy is two hundred and seventy three percent over capacity." The ring answered in a mechanical voice a few seconds later.
"Why?" Green Lantern asked.
"Unknown." The ring replied.
Purple and green were now clearly visible in the portal now.
"They're trying to get to their own dimension." Batman muttered.
"It's not just energy that girl is using, I can sense a tremendous amount of will and hope." J'onn said calmly.
"So what? She's wishing for a way home?" Diana asked, staggering over.
"Psychically directed, using raw energy would be a possible way to open a wormhole in spacetime to allow travel to another dimension." J'onn explained.
Yuu listened to the conversation and marvelled at how, together, they pieced together the theory behind what Rock was doing.
I guess that's why they're the greatest heroes in the world. She said.
Doesn't explain why they're dicks though, Yuu. Strength replied bitterly, Vulcan cannons firmly pointed in their direction.
She heard a thud come from behind her, shortly followed by an ear-piercing shrieking and howling, she risked a glance back and saw Rock slumped on the floor and a writhing vortex of impossible colours and shapes.
Without a second thought she fired her hands at the Justice League, hoping to distract them long enough to pick up Rock and jump through the portal. A few seconds later she stopped with one hand and helped Rock to her feet, together they edged towards the portal and leapt through.
Time meant nothing, they fell for millennia through the wails and screams of a trillion trillion trillion souls burning as universes collapsed.
The birth pains of creation echoed through eternity.
Entire multiverses were devoured by predators stalking the void.
Gods were born from depravity as empires slaughtered themselves.
Physics turned inside out as new realities merged.
And through it all, the terrible, insane, monotonous fluted piping and beating of vile drums as the void breathed in and out.
A/N
Obviously Teen Titans, Justice League and the BRS Project are owned by their respective owners.
After this I'm going to quit trying to come up with stories and just insert these characters into already existing plots like I did with the first story. And if the ending seemed rushed or out of character then I apologise but you are correct, I just wanted this story over with for reasons.
