Chapter 5: New beginnings

Clio was dreaming.

She was floating in complete darkness, barely able to see her own hands, but when she tried to change the dream into something more pleasurable, something she was usually able to do easily, nothing happened.

Before Clio could process this notion, she felt her body being compressed, and the next thing she knew; she was standing in what looked like a fancy attic.

Suddenly, the door opened and a short, brown haired man wearing a bronze armor entered and, after kneeling down to an ominous looking throne, just outside Clio's field of vision, he started speaking:

"My lord, I regret to inform you, but the siege at Camp Half-blood has failed; the demigods have killed all the Dew with a nasty trick."

"Oh, that's magnificent, all going according to plan." Replied a young, but powerful voice, coming from the golden throne.

Clio couldn't help but gasp, the voice speaking reminded her a lot of someone she knew, but she couldn't quite put a pin on it.

"Did you hear that?" Asked the man alarmed.

"Hear what, Sir?"

"Oh, must have been my imagination, you can go now Hephaestion."

"Yes, Sir."

Suddenly the scene started degrading in quality before vanishing, as Clio's slowly came back to her senses.

Her eyes jolted open, to find two green eyes looking at her, from an awfully close distance.

Without even realizing it, she pushed away at the stalker, who ended up flying all the way across the room.

"Hey! Is this the way, you treat the guy that has been taking care of you for almost a week now?" He said irritated.

As Clio got up from her bed, she realized something was missing, the pain provoked by the snake's venom was gone and her left hand and arm had returned to their normal skin color.

"Wait, what? A week!?" Repeated Clio shocked.

"Yeah, quick summary for you sleeping beauty: After you killed all those giants; you got knocked out pretty bad, even with Mr.'s A cures it took you six days to recover."

As he got up, Clio could finally give a good look at him, he was a thin but tall teenager around her age, with dark ebony hair and shiny green eyes that made him stand out in the white painted room, that Clio now recognized as an infirmary of sorts,

"Shit, Tessa, I need to see her, now."

"You mean the new girl, right? If memory serves me right, she should be in the Pegasi stable, just go straight until you see a house with a blue roof then you go right and you can't miss it. By the way, the name's Jasper, if you need me for anything.

"Thanks, Jasper." Replied Clio, smiling at him.

Clio quickly rushed out of the building, ignoring the confused looks of the people breezed past; when she finally reached the stables, she bumped straight into Tessa talking with another girl, around her age.

Before Clio could say anything, Tessa recognized her and hugged her so tightly, that her still aching bones protested loudly.

"Clio, you are up! Are you hurting? Do you feel fine? Do you need any…"

Clio cut her off before Tessa could continue: "I'm absolutely fine Tessa, instead why don't you give me a tour of this place?"

As Tessa showed her the stables, the activities buildings and the many, many cabins; her mind started wandering and she didn't even notice that Tessa had started leading her towards the huge, badly painted building that loomed over the entire camp.

By the time she did notice, they were standing almost in front of its door: "Wait a moment Tessa, why are we going in here?" Asked Clio worried.

"Oh, its nothing Sis, the weekly meeting is being held today and as the oldest member of the Zeus's cabin, you have to participate." She replied gladly.

Before Clio could politely refuse to participate, her sister pushed her in and closed the door behind her.

Clio froze as two dozen pair of eyes turned to look at her.
