A month has passed since Lucien went to Diagon Alley and mailed a letter to one of the professor's that he will be showing up at Hogwarts. It was the middle of August as he spent most of his time studying spells, but not casting them yet since his mother forbade him from using magic since he was underaged, but his mother did show him some examples of what the spells looked like and what they do. Each day his mother's illness became worse and worse by the second, she kept getting thinner and weaker, along as she was getting more paler and losing most of her hair within the month.

It was at this point the neighbors next door noticed his mother's condition and had no choice except to call a doctor, much to his mother's protest saying that she was fine, but they told her it was for the best for both of them. On August 13th, they went to the hospital since his mother's schedule was appointed, Lucien was holding her hand the entire time he was in the hospital with her, his Mother gripped his hand tightly in return while they were in the waiting room as one of the doctors came out of doctors office, he was a middle-aged man but there was something about him that seemed to put them both at ease, "Mrs. Crow?" The Doctor asked."

Y-Yes?" Lucien's mother responded.

"I'm Dr. Michael, come with me please." She nods as they both get up from their seats and follow him to the examination room. Lucien still holding his mother's hand as they entered the room.

"Please take a seat both of you." Dr. Michael said as they both sat down.

Dr. Michael takes another good look at Lucien's mother to see what he is dealing with until a few minutes passed as he was taking notes, he finishes writing down notes, he clears throat. "Mrs. Crow, do you mind if I run some tests just to confirm what we are dealing with here?"

She looks at her son who puts on a smile for her which makes her smile back before turning their attention towards the Doctor once again before giving her answer to the middle-aged doctor. "Yes please."

"Splendid." Dr. Michael responded before taking a small blood sample from her. "Once I finish, your results will be back in about...Let's give it a week shall we?"

After a very long yet fretful week the results came back as The Doctor reads the results which he closes his eyes before setting down the paper. "It's just as I feared…" He muttered before opening his eyes to look at them as they were awaiting his news

"W-Well?" Lucien's mother said. "Nothing is wrong...Right?

Dr. Michael became silent for a moment before looking at Lucien who looked at him with his yellow eyes with hope that his mother will be alright. He then turned to his mother whom was shaking a little. "I am sorry but…" Dr. Michael paused as it seemed like he was really having a hard time telling her the truth since her son was here with them. He took a deep breath as he speaks once more, "You are diagnosed with…"

The word that came out of the Doctor's mouth confused Lucien but it made his mother's eyes widen out of disbelief, "What's that?" Lucien asked before he could see his own mother shaking violently. While he did not understand what was happening he is a child still.

"N-No...I-I do not believe it…" She weakly spoke as her voice trembled in fear. "I c-can't...I-I refuse to believe it!" Her eyes were filling up with tears that have yet to drop.

"I'm sorry Mrs. Crow." Dr. Michael apologizes before getting up.

Lucien looks up at him with confusion as he looks at him in return. His eyes are filled with pity before looking at his mother one last time as he opens the door. "We will discuss a schedule for you once you calm down." He says as he leaves the room, leaving Lucien and his crying mother alone.

A few days later after Lucien's mother was diagnosed with the illness. She spent most of her time in the hospital as she was screaming every single day she was getting treatment. Lucien who is witnessing it all as hearing her screams made him cry uncontrollably while he was forced to leave the hospital each time despite his protests.

One day on August 19th when he was visiting his mother after her treatment, he was holding her hand while looking at her tired eyes.

"M-Mum?" Lucien asked, his voice cracking a little as he was trembling with fear. "W-When are you going to come home…?"

She slowly turns her gaze up at him as a weak smile came across her face. "Soon Luci…" She answered with a quiet tone in her voice.

Lucien smiles as he felt happy that his mother was getting better. But something did not feel right to him but he shakes it off.

"Sweetie…?" She called as he looks into her eyes.

"Yes, Mum?" He responded as he leaned a little closer.

"I love you very much..." She said as she squeezes his hand a little.

"I love you too, Mum…" He replied, his smile never leaving his face.

"I want you to have a great time in Hogwarts alright? I want you to be kind to your fellow classmates, I want you to respect your teachers as well as everyone else...And be nice to your friends...I want you to make a lot of friends…" She urged as her voice trembled a little.

"Y-Yes Mum! I'll make a lot of friends, I'll be kind to my classmates and respect everyone!" He declares. "I promise!"

His mother gives him a genuine smile before kissing his forehead, "Good boy…"

"M-Mum?" Lucien said as he was still gripping her hand.

"Yes, Lucien?" She responded as she rubs his hand with her thumb.

"C-Can you sing me a song?" Lucien asked as he heard a soft giggle coming from her.

"Of course, sweetie…Which song?" She answered with a question of her own.

Lucien thought for a moment before answering back as he had one song in mind that was special for him. "The song you and dad used to sing to each other sometimes...The one that I liked."

His mother places her other hand on his left cheek before setting it down as she started to sing.

"Heart mellow, Hand out there..."

"The world quivers from their sight…"

"They push through it all with their might…"

"As will they never fade…"

"That is today…"

Lucien closes his eyes as he slightly sways his head left to right a little, enjoying the sound of his mother's voice. She sounded very angelic when she is singing almost like he was in his own world.

"The Blackbird gave its own heart as they depart..."

"The Sun gave its hand as their love just began..."

"Once was nothing but in stone…"

"They are not alone…"

"Anymo-"

His mother started coughing, cutting her off from her singing, Lucien opens his eyes and hands her a glass of water, she takes the glass and takes a sip before handing him back the cup. Lucien sets the cup down on the table next to him, "I'm sorry sweetie…" She said as her voice was faint.

"It's alright Mum, I think you just need some rest." Lucien replied.

She smiled before nodding, "I am getting a little tired…" She said before closing her eyes while Lucien sat down with his hand still holding hers

"Goodnight, Mum." He whispered as he kisses her cheek before watching her sleep.

After a few minutes of watching her sleep, he hears the heart monitor that makes a beep each second, suddenly creating a long constant beep that does not sound like it was stopping anytime soon, Lucien notices and feels her hand was cold. "Mum?" Lucien said as he nudged her a little to wake her up. She was not waking up, Lucien tried nudging her again but she still was not waking up. "M-Mum…?" Lucien's voice shakes a little as he is starting to get scared. Dr. Michael walks into the room and notices Lucien nudging his mother, trying to wake her up.

"M-Mum?! P-Please wake up!" Lucien exclaimed this time he could feel the tears forming. "MUM!" Dr. Michaels places a hand on Lucien's shoulder, Lucien turns to look at him as he notices a sad look on his face.

"I am sorry…" Dr. Michael said, "But she is gone…" At that very moment Lucien felt his world starting to shatter, and his tears started to stream down his face one after the other. Lucien shook his head in disbelief not wanting to believe his own mother is gone,

"N-No...NO!" He shouts before turning to his now resting mother; he grips on her hand tighter, "MUM!" He screamed her name once again!" "MUM! M-MUM...! PLEASE WAKE UP!" Dr. Michael placed a hand on the now grieving Lucien as he did his best to console him. "I-I DON'T WANT TO BE A-ALONE!" His legs soon gave out as he was cries were getting louder. "MUUUUUM!" He screams out her name one last time as the echoes of his voice reach down the halls of the hospital.

On August 25th, five had passed since his mother's passing, a funeral was being held at St. Jerome's Graveyard the week before September, every family and every customer that Lucien's mother knew attended the funeral to pay their respects and condolences, Lucien did not say a word to anyone, all he did was stare at his mother's grave who happened to be next to his father's. Everyone looked at him unsure whether or not to either pity him or hate him.

After what seemed like an eternity everyone leaves the funeral, leaving Lucien all by himself as he was officially alone. He continued to stare at his parent's graves as if he was in some sort of daze, the only thing that snapped him back into reality was the rain falling down on him along with the sound of thunder. Lucien debating to himself if he should leave but once he goes home, he will be in a quiet yet empty house and he did not want to be alone...He did not want to leave. Reluctantly since the rain was getting worse he had no choice but to leave.

An hour had passed by as Lucien arrived back home from the funeral as he entered his house and as expected it was quiet and empty. He then goes to his room while drying himself off along with changing from out of his suit to a dry and comfortable, yet casual clothing. He sluggishly dries off his white snowy hair before heading to the bathroom to place his wet and drippy suit in an empty hamper, he then catches a glimpse of himself in the mirror, he stared at himself for a while until he could see and feel himself starting to tear up again. He heard his mother's words inside his mind as if she was right there with him.

'Give your mum a big smile!' The words echoed inside Lucien's mind, looking at himself in the mirror, trying to put on a big smile, but every time he tried the feeling of loneliness always wins. Lucien getting both frustrated and angry he keeps trying for what seemed like hours, he could feel his sanity draining by the minute from each time he hears his mothers words. Every time that he smiled, the once genuine and full of joy slowly became more dark and more blood-curdling with in each attempt, he hears a sudden scream as the mirror cracked from top to bottom. Soon everything went black...

Opening his eyes he immediately sits up on his bed as he is drenched in sweat, inhaling and exhaling rapidly as he places a hand on his head while his eyes are looking around his room for a second before taking a deep breath. "I really need to stop having these kinds of nightmares…" Lucien said to himself before getting off the bed, looking at the clock on the wall along with looking at the calendar which was marked September 1st.

"It's eight-thirty, so the train doesn't leave till eleven…" Then the realization kicked in, "I need to get ready!" He screamed as he starts getting ready.

After a few minutes of showering, changing and packing he was ready to leave. Before he leaves, Lucien looks at his father's guitar for a good minute. 'Maybe…' He thought as he debated for a moment. He wants to bring something he enjoys and a reminder to his parents.

"I should," he said before he started packing the guitar, taking it with him as he leaves the house to King's Cross Station. Once he arrives at the Station, he looks at his ticket, 'Platform nine and three-quarters.' He remembered the way to the platform, since his family went there to see his older brother off on his very first day of Hogwarts, he laughed to himself a little before arriving at the platform dividing between nine and ten, he took a deep breath, "Here we go…" Lucien muttered before charging through the barrier that leads to Platform nine and three-quarters.

It felt strange once he moved through the barrier, but in a good way. He cracked a small smile before looking at the train next to him which was the Hogwarts Express. His smile grew a little more as he remembers the train like it was only yesterday to him. He then starts moving his trolley that had his packed suitcases towards the train. Moments after loading his things into one of the compartments, he gets on the train and sits down in one of the empty room seats.

I don't know if it was sad for you but it kind of was for me. I will post a few more chapters tomorrow. But if you have any thoughts about this story feel free to send a message. And please don't be mean about it.
