AN: Here is 42! This one was tough for us and due to the long time trying to get it right, we had to switch our chapters around a little to give my cousin a break. We added some more solo episodes to get things even. I am working on the next one as we speak and speaking with my cousin on our next plans so we don't get so far behind again. Hope you guys enjoy and thanks for sticking with us!

Dear Doctor,

Today was a hard day, as the time of the birth of our child grows closer and closer, I become more and more eager. I wish to know what she will look like, will she resemble me or you? Maybe she won't resemble either of us and she will be her own, unique, person and that's okay because she is ours and the love that both of us can give her will be shown to her every single day. I know I said this in my last entry but I must admit… I am curious.

It never gets any easier without you Doctor. The memory of you is slowly fading and I wonder if it's her. I wonder if it's our daughter who so desperately senses my emotions, that she's trying to ease the pain in my heart. But I don't want to forget you. I want to hold onto all of the memories of us that I can because they are the only thing that I have right now.

You're gone and I don't know what to do. I thought that maybe it would get easier after a while, but it only seems to grow harder. I wish that you could be here for the birth of our beautiful baby girl but I know... I know that you will always be in my heart, so in a sense I know that you are already here.

The Master says that nothing should go wrong, but I worry Doctor... I worry that I'm not strong enough to bring her into this world safely, I only wish that you were here to ease my worries, to ease my pain.

I love you, my madman in a blue box.

I will find you, no matter what it takes.

Rose.

"How many entries do you intend to write?" The Master questioned Rose as she sat with her hand on her swollen belly, a cup of tea to the right of her. She had been keeping this journal since the moment the Doctor had left her on Bad Wolf Bay, the last time that she had seen him. She hoped that it would ease her pain, but somehow it only made it worse. But she liked writing to him, she liked documenting everything.

"Until I feel like I've written to my hearts content. I feel like he should know everything, I don't want to keep anything from him, especially when it concerns our daughter. I don't want him to feel like he's missed anything." Rose whispered.

The Master sighed quietly and pulled out a chair so that he could sit beside her. "Rose, you have nothing to worry about. The Doctor doesn't even know that you are pregnant and even though he isn't here for the birthing of his child, he won't be upset. We are Time Lords. We've seen a lot of violence, the Doctor knows that the circumstances are beyond anyone's control."

Rose nodded and huffed with a sigh as her daughter kicked her. She rubbed her stomach. "But at least if I'm documenting everything, then he has a day to day understanding of what it was like to be pregnant."

The Master nodded, "okay. I understand... I want you to know that you have nothing to worry about... This pregnancy, well everything is going to go smoothly. Everything is a little on edge right now because you can't do much, what with your due date in a couple months, but as soon as you give birth... I will find a way to get you back to him."

Rose looked at her new friend. "Are you so sure about that?"

"Oi! You never doubt a Time Lord, don't you know that?" The Master grinned at her and the Tardis hummed in disagreement. "Hey, why are you always on her side? Do you really dislike me that much?"

Rose laughed when the Tardis hummed in agreement to his last statement. "Does that answer your question?"

The Master rolled his eyes and stood up. "How about a little trip? It might make you feel better and... Actually, I know it will make you feel better!" He held his hand out to her and raised an eyebrow, waiting for her to take his outstretched hand.

"Where exactly can I go? My belly is huge... It's getting harder to walk around." Rose told him as she took his hand and stood to her feet slowly. "I'm not really up for-"

"You don't need to do a lot of walking for this, Rose. I promise that this is definitely something that you're going to want to see..." The Master slowly led her into the console room and with no complaint at all from the Tardis, he touched a few buttons and moved a few dials, getting the coordinates into play.

After several minutes, the Master went to the doors of the Tardis and opened the doors, smiling at Rose as he waited for her to follow him out.

Rose hesitantly followed him out, wobbling the entire way and when she stepped into the night air, a gasp escaped her lips at the sight of where she was.

"Barcelona," she whispered as a lone tear streaked down her cheek.

[Doctor]

Martha banged against the escape pod, her heart beating a mile a minute, she didn't want to go out like this... not like this. This whole entire trip had been nothing but a complete shock and every step of the way, Martha had been on her toes. She didn't want to die now, she had so much more to do in life and she still wanted to travel with the Doctor, she wanted... Well, she didn't want to die!

"Doctor!" She cried as she pounded her hand against the window.

Martha could see his face from the other side of the window of the escape pod and although she couldn't clearly make out what he said, she heard him nonetheless.

"I'll save you!" He called back to her, panicked. He didn't want to lose another companion, she was his friend and he wanted to make sure that she made it through this trip safely. He had to make sure that she made it through safely.

"Martha," Riley said from behind her. His voice was regretful and apologetic. "It's too late!"

"Doctor!" Martha cried once more. She could feel emotions welling up within her and she really felt like crying in this very moment.

"I'll save you!" The Doctor repeated once more, hoping that he believed that himself.

"I can't hear you!" Martha cried, because she really couldn't hear him. His voice was muffled because of the pod that was currently between them and the engine that was still revving. She felt like they were in two different worlds and her oxygen supply would soon be cutting off.

All that Martha could make out now were his lips and she couldn't understand a word that was coming out of his mouth, it terrified her.

As the pod began to float towards the sun, Martha had but one thing to say, the only thing that was on her mind... "I'm sorry."

[Rose]

"But, how... How did you manage to do this?" Rose asked with a sob, her emotions heightened immensely due to the pregnancy. "This is..."

"Yes," the Master murmured. "The Doctor has taken you here before, you've told me. I figured that even though this isn't the same Barcelona that you and him went to, I figured that it would do. It's similarities are so great, that it's almost impossible to tell them apart."

Rose looked around at the beautiful city, the night sky was lit up with fireworks and people were milling about, holding hands and singing songs. When the Doctor had brought her here, it had been the same atmosphere, she had been on cloud nine and they had spent one of their many dates here, because he had promised her. He promised her he would take her here after the first regeneration that she had ever seen him undergo and he made good on his promise.

Rose stepped forward and sat down in the chair that was already awaiting her, to watch the fireworks as she closed her eyes, remembering every aspect about the Doctor, she wanted to revel in every memory that they had together and she never wanted to let it go. Her Doctor, her madman in a blue box was everything to her, her entire world and now she was about to have his baby and together, they would fly through space in order to find him... It was all that she had ever wanted in this life.

This place, Barcelona, meant more to Rose then any place that she had ever been to and she would never forget the beautiful moment that they had shared together here. It was one of those moments that one would never forget no matter how long they lived, that moment was earth shattering, knee buckling, and heart pounding. It rang in her ears, the ache in her heart a reminder that it did happen and that nothing and no one would ever take that moment away from her, away from them. Rose was sure that the baby inside of her, the baby that she shared with her Doctor could feel every one of her emotions right now, they were so alive.

"Barcelona, at it's best!" The Doctor told Rose with a laugh, his eyes twinkling as excitement danced in his orbs. "I promised you a trip and well, it doesn't get any better than this!" He grinned from ear to ear and Rose thought that the entire world would explode if only to keep the two of them here, in this one moment.

Rose held her hands out, as if they would expand and she closed her eyes, reveling in the beauty that was in front of her. If only things could be this simple all of the time, if only her doctor would remain her doctor for eternity. She didn't want to think about the million different reasons why they couldn't be together. She only wanted this one moment to last forever.

"It's beautiful," Rose said softly.

The Doctor laughed, his face expressing his happiness. "This place has a very unique quality." The Doctor pointed to the sun burnt sky that almost resembled a sunset. "It's always sunset, it never changes. It isn't like earth, where we have constant day and night." He walked towards the edge of the small hill that the TARDIS had landed them on. "The people here are much different than you mere humans… they're… welllll," he grinned and looked at Rose. She could only smile back. "They're very...colorful."

Rose was confused momentarily before a couple of aliens from Barcelona walked past them. Her eyes widened when she realized that the color of the skin was much different than hers. Although there were many different races where she was from, she had never quite seen anyone that was green. Or blue. She now understood what the Doctor had meant and she could only grin. Regardless of how weird it all seemed, Rose wasn't put off. The scenery before her was too peaceful. The sky was very comforting and she only wished that earth had this sort of feeling. But it was much more than that and Rose knew that the feelings that she was currently experiencing were much deeper. They went beyond Barcelona.

"I love it," Rose whispered as she looked at the Doctor. She took a couple steps forward and found herself in the middle of the hill. She crouched down and sat cross legged as she watched the people mill about, the darkened sky looming overhead. Although it didn't put off much light, it didn't seem to bother the residents that lived here. They seemed happy, the smiles on their faces giving away their elation. There was no threat here, Rose was suddenly understanding that. But what she couldn't piece together was why the Doctor had brought her here.

"It's amazing isn't it?" The Doctor queried as he walked towards Rose and took a seat next to her on the grass covered hill. "Oh, I used to come here all the time, ages ago. Back when things were a bit different here… this planet has never been attacked. They're in such a secluded area that it keeps them safe from other planets, other aliens."

"I don't see how anyone would want to attack this place. The atmosphere is too peaceful." She smiled at the Doctor and leaned back on her elbows. "Why did you really bring me here Doctor? There's no threat here and usually…. The pattern of things with you is that we always land somewhere that we have to fight some sort of alien trying to take over the planet."

"This is true," the Doctor replied softly. "But I figured that we could use a break and this place is somewhere that I come to relax. I wanted to share it with you."

Rose sucked in a breath, the Doctor was actually giving off a bit of his feelings. Although she didn't fully know what this meant for the two of them, she was simply content that he wanted to share his special place with her. It made her wonder what was going through his head at this exact moment because what was going through her head was that she loved him.

"You… wanted to share this place with me? Just me and no one else?"

The Doctor looked at his pink and yellow human, a mixture of emotions crossing his features. He hadn't meant to reveal that much to her, there were consequences that he wasn't ready to deal with. His hearts were pounding and even though he had the urge to pull her in and kiss her right then and there, he held back. Rose was human, she would never have the same time span has him. Eventually, he would lose her and he needed to prepare himself for that. He didn't want to admit his feelings when he knew that at any moment, Rose would leave his world. It was the way that things worked, he knew that… but then he would be on his own again, last of the Time Lords.

"Rose," he whispered. "Let's just enjoy the atmosphere, I would-"

"No, Doctor. You brought me here for a reason. You always change the subject, why can't you just tell me the real reason that you brought me here?"

There was a long silence and Rose wondered if he was going to answer her. She wondered if she'd overstepped since she usually just let him avoid the situation and move on. It was unlike her to get emotional with the Doctor because she knew that he was not an emotional man. The Doctor didn't like to express his feelings, only when it came to things like saving a planet from aliens. But when it came to things of the heart, well the Doctor just didn't like to talk about he. He always just changed the subject and pretended like nothing had ever been said.

"Rose," he stated as he looked at her. He reached out and took her hand, his thoughts jumbled. For a Time Lord, he knew that he wasn't doing so well with this. "Does it need saying?"

Rose looked at him, her heart wrapping itself around his words. Rose understood him even though she had been the one to ask him why he had brought her here. She hadn't expected him to give her an answer, she knew him too well. She might have been human but she had learned a lot from the Doctor over the past few years and she felt like she was much wiser than she used to be. She knew so much more about the world and about supernatural things than the younger version of herself who had been so much more innocent.

"No, Doctor. It doesn't need to be said." Rose placed her hand on the left side of his chest, feeling his heartbeat beneath her fingers. "Let's just enjoy the moment okay?"

The Doctor felt his hearts plummet at her words. This human was so much more than he could ever ask for. He could stand up to any of his enemies, but admitting his feelings to Rose was harder and scarier. He only looked at her, his eyes conveying everything that he was feeling. He felt bad because he couldn't say the three words that he knew Rose wanted to hear. This human in front of him was his entire world and even though he was petrified of losing her, he wanted to make her happy. He already knew that he loved her, there was never any doubt. But he was a man that didn't talk about his feelings, he was a man that avoided situations such as this. He wasn't sure how to go about this, how to truly show her how much he loved her. He wanted her to know, even if he couldn't say them.

The Doctor scooted towards Rose and pulled her forehead against his. There were no words spoken but Rose was given a glimpse of his hearts. She could see the first time that he met her, the first time that he fell in love with her and she was given the full extent of his love in the memories that he was sharing with her. She knew that the Doctor was telepathically speaking to her, even though she was human, and she was grateful. Before the connection was completely shut off, there were three words in Gallifreyan that Rose was able to translate. She wasn't sure if it was because of the TARDIS or if it was the Doctor, but she got the confirmation that she needed.

"Oh," Rose whispered. "Oh Doctor, I love you so much."

And that was that. Rose and her Doctor.

"Thank you." Rose whispered as she turned to face the Master. "You have no idea how much this means to me. This place... It's very special to both the Doctor and I."

The Master smiled as he came to stand behind her. "I imagine it holds a lot of memories for you and for the Doctor. This is the only thing that I can do for you Rose, the only place I can take you that will look remotely similar to the one back home. Everything else on this planet is entirely different, I mean you obviously know that based upon one of your adventures with the Doctor."

"Ricky," she said with a small laugh. "That was a fun adventure."

"Even though you were actually a dog in this world?" The Master asked her with a grin.

Rose snorted, "the Jackie from this world really had bad taste."

The master laughed and nodded, simply agreeing with her. It was silence after that, both of them left to their own thoughts. Although this place held no value to him, he wanted Rose to be happy. She deserved to be happy, after everything that she had been through. Barcelona was one place that the Master knew she would feel content being in, not only because it held memories for her but because the place itself was just… simply peaceful.

[Doctor]

"Another adventure under our belt, what do you think Martha Jones?" The Doctor asked his current companion with a grin on his face. "Are you up for another one?"

Martha laughed, eyeing the chain that the doctor had given her only moments ago. It had the TARDIS key attached to it and it was a symbol that the Doctor wanted her to travel with him again. She felt happy because she felt like the Doctor needed her. It wasn't in the same way that she felt she needed him but she was okay with that. She was just happy traveling with the Doctor, no matter what it meant.

"Yeah," Martha replied. "The sky is the limit. Show me the world, Doctor."
