Chapter 1 - 1st Day
POV: Daisy
As Daisy nervously disembarked the Airship walking through the crowd keeping to herself and trying to keep out of everyone's way. Being one of the tallest people there standing at 6ft wasn't easy not to be noticed but she managed to as everyone was all in their own worlds or talking with their friends etc.
Her semblance boosted her hearing and she could hear conversations up to 20 metres away and even single in on 1 conversation. Among the crowd she could hear them talking about what the time at Beacon would be like, how they're going to ace each test or become the best Huntsman etc.
What Daisy was looking for was someone that didn't have a friend yet here, all she knew was Higanbana and thinking that if she got 1 friend then today would be a success.
She finally heard the words of a girl mutter to herself "I better try find some friends".
Daisy put all her focus in the area she heard the voice and proceeded to it looking around spotting a girl with short red hair standing at 5'5 and very cute. Her Jade green eyes made Daisy's mind go into hyperdrive of all sorts of possibilities, a feeling she couldn't describe and had butterflies in her stomach, nervous about going over and saying hi even though she wanted and needed to meet this girl.
With all her attention focused on the girl thinking of a great way to initiate a conversation and she would've had it easier if she was waitressing back at the Inn as she'd always greet and welcome customers and guests giving her a reason to talk to them.
Not paying attention she didn't notice nor see a guy in a leather jacket until it was too late bumping into him, the guy caught Daisy from falling back and her face went red with embarrassment as Daisy stared at the guy with silver eyes as he stared back as she apologized for running into him.
Out of all the things the guy could say Daisy thought it all and she had grown up with people yelling at her just being different but two words came from the guy with silver eyes that stunned her as he removed his earbuds saying "It's cool".
Daisy had been treated ok working at the Inn but in public a lot of people refused to acknowledge her or were really rude, she was surprised that this human didn't mind she was a faunus until she reminded herself that everyone was here to become a Huntsman and there must be a lot of like-minded individuals around.
The feeling was cut short though by a guy who saw everything and pushed her with a bit of strength, Daisy didn't fall but she could feel all the eyes on her as he shouted "I can't believe they let a filthy faunus into Beacon"
Daisy ducked her head but out of nowhere the guy with silver eyes gave the aggressor a mean left hook which had him on the ground as he then said "I'm surprised they let a close minded racist into Beacon, you came here to be a Huntsman, faunus are people to, open up your mind you racist"
Embarrassed about the situation and unable to handle all the eyes on her Daisy rushed away even though she was thankful to the guy with silver eyes and how she probably failed in making friends with that guy since she rushed off which she knew was rude to do.
The girl with red hair was gone and giving up on trying to find a friend for now Daisy made her way to the Atrium setting up her sleeping bag in the corner wishing she could've met the red haired girl or had the guts to stay in the altercation and perhaps befriend the kind stranger that stood up for her.
POV: Eada
Stepping off the Airship from Atlas, Eada saw to it that her belongings were treated with care. She quickly introduced herself to a lot of people making sure to avoid any faunus so she could have a wide net of potential Huntsman she could socialize with and pick the best ones and to see if there were any from another wealthy family.
She had grown accustom to her Father's thinking and by the end of the day she had made so many possible connections that she got into the Atrium quite late and finding a spot near the corner.
There she set up her gear and sleeping bag and made it clear that she was not in the mood to talk as next to her was a faunus with her friend, no way was she wanting to speak to a faunus if it could be helped and the other girl looked like she was beneath her like everyone else but far too down the social ladder to even say a measly 'Hi' to.
Deciding sleep was more important was the only reason she had to sleep near the faunus as she made sure everything was in place and looking at the faunus for her eyes showing that if any of her stuff was missing she'd be the no.1 suspect.
Settling to sleep she thinking that she had to come up with a way to end up leading a team of humans only and even amusing herself with the name of their team to be 'No faunus allowed'.
POV: Austin
Austin had stepped off the Airship listening to his favourite band in his earbuds wandering around thinking where may be the best place to sleep tonight. As Austin stood still thinking of his options his train of thought was interrupted by an unexpected collision.
After catching the girl that bumped into him he could see she was so nervous and thought that maybe a friendly face was all she needed as he took his earbuds out saying "it's cool". Seeing her face brighten up from being treated nicely was a good moment until it was interrupted by a guy pushing her, calling her filthy and surprised that she was accepted into Beacon.
The guy had crossed a line, Austin had always stood up for anyone that needed it, especially faunus as he was raised by them and at the end of the day they were just people to. Yes there were some bad faunus but a lot of bad humans to as his biological parents abandoned him in Vacuo so many years ago.
Even though the faunus ran after his mean left hook and spray as he was quick to temper, Austin really insisted that the guy better not try anything like that again on a faunus or even a human.
The 3 friends of the aggressor were a little scared themselves picking up their friend, apologizing and running off. Austin had gotten some food and kept an eye out for the faunus after the altercation but couldn't find her and at the end of the night unlike all the other students Austin had chosen to spend the night in a tree outside the Atrium where he tied himself to a branch to go to sleep.
Remaining cautious as he remembered his lessons from Qrow even though he knew Beacon was safe, he knew the truth that was hidden and only known by an exact few people.
POV: Jade
Jade had only a short trip from Vale and was among of the first groups to arrive at Beacon. Walking around and trying to find someone that was off by themselves was more difficult than she thought as it seemed everyone came here with at least 1 friend.
Especially when a fight broke out, not knowing the reason for the fight but she did see a faunus run off from the direction of the fight and her caring personality kicked in wanting to make sure she was ok. After searching for the faunus through the crowd to see if she was ok Jade finally found the her by herself in the Atrium that was almost empty right now.
She just stared at her scroll, walking over and quietly sitting next to her Jade extended her hand into the girl's vision "Hi I'm Jade" she said with a warm smile.
Daisy had heard someone sit next to her by the help of her kelpie ears and not just her semblance and when she shook the hand of the girl she was glad her hair covered most of her face as she blushed like mad.
Remaining cool took some effort after introducing herself but finally she had a name to a face. Jade knew she'd had to open up first and told Daisy that she was named after the colour of her eyes and the long tradition from the Great War.
The two started talking, telling each other where they were from, some funny stories and knowing Jade didn't mind she was a faunus. Over the next 2 hours the more they talked it seemed like they had been best friends all their lives even though it had only been 2 hours since they met as the Atrium started filling up with students after the talk Professor Ozpin had given welcoming kids to the school in his unique way.
Starting to get later and later a snobby looking girl took the vacant spot next to them, Jade never wanted to judge a book by its cover and tried to welcome her and even join in on the conversation but the reaction from the blonde girl was cold especially when she looked at Daisy when she made sure where all her belongings were.
Daisy and Jade shared a look knowing the sign of someone not wanting to have anything to do with them they both shrugged and agreed they should get some rest as they never knew what they'd have to do tomorrow now attending Beacon.
Wishing each other a good night and a promise to talk in the morning they both headed off to sleep as they both smiled to themselves, proud they found a friend on the first day.
To be continued...
