-Chapter 9- Actual Progress

When Daisy returned to her dorm she was accompanied by Team TGRN, they had some things to discuss with Team JADE and Ray needed to talk to Jade leader to leader. Daisy opened the door and let everyone in to Jade's confusion, she was glad Daisy was back but didn't know why Team TGRN was here. As she asked what was going on Daisy sat Jade down and told her the events of yesterday. Jade listened to her team mate and best friend, how she made Daisy feel, what got her to miss the last airship back to Beacon.

Jade looked at Team TGRN stunned that they worked together to make sure Daisy was ok and how they waited for Daisy to come back. Jade felt terrible as she hugged Daisy, apologizing and glad she was alright. Looking to Team TGRN she looked at each member and thanked them for picking up her slack. Eada opened up her curtain and stepped out having heard everything and also felt bad apologizing to Daisy but not thanking Team TGRN. Tiger, Gretchen and Nell then stepped out to give them their space as Nell asked both Eada and Daisy to also step out so she could talk to Jade alone.

Jade somehow knew this speech was coming as Eada couldn't believe she was being kicked out of her own dorm even if it was for a few minutes but Jade looked at her and just said please, noticing the sad and guilty expression on Jade's face she left with Daisy and stood outside of her dorm. When Jade and Ray were alone Ray sat down next to Jade and started out by saying she needed to step up. That is why she was talking to Jade leader to leader.

Ray explained how this speech isn't a haha I'm better then you speech, it was a speech to help a fellow leader. She stated how it was good how she put Daisy first, then Austin and Eada before going for a group effort but focusing on one thing at a time takes a toll on everyone. She agreed Eada was the biggest challenge however she couldn't always put out fires between Austin and Eada and reminded what Daisy felt like the last 2 weeks. Mentioning Daisy offered Jade help and just because she was leader she didn't need to shoulder everything, training to be a Huntress she needs to put others first and herself second which includes dating.

Sparring is all good but Ray explained you need to open the whole sparring inviting the whole team and spend time with members evenly, not down to the minute but perhaps 1 day you spend time with Eada, next day Austin and then Daisy or all together. The two continued to talk as Ray gave Jade a list of what her team does each week seeing that they all help each other in a study group so they can talk ideas and help each other grow in academics and also they have their own training but 2 times a week they all train together.

Jade kept reading the list as they also had a movie night and at the end of each week they would tell each other a fact about them that nobody knew or a story from their childhood. In between all those times everyone could do whatever, continue hanging out or go off to see other friends or do their own thing etc. How they all looked out for each other, Jade then promised she would do better and asked if she could check in with Ray every now and then and ask for advice with Ray nodding as she states that she doesn't want a repeat.

The two hugged as Jade thanked her once more, wiping her eyes of the tears as she reached for her scroll messaging Austin to come back to the dorm for an important team meeting as Ray left with her team with a goodbye to Daisy and offered each member of Team JADE to knock on their door any time. Out in the hall Eada had apologized to Daisy once more and the members of the other team at how she didn't care and hearing what actually happened made her feel guilty and sick to her gut and finally holding her hand out to Daisy knowing she didn't really deserve it but asked Daisy if they could start fresh.

Daisy just smiled grabbing Eada's hand and shaking it for the first time ever. Jade had come out and saw the duo now talking as if they were trying to get along. Jade couldn't believe that Eada and Daisy seemed to be patching up and now realizing that it shouldn't be always Jade keeping the peace but all 4 members. Austin arrived wandering what was so important, Team JADE went back in their dorm and informed Austin what had happened. Austin was quick to apologize but then did point out the fact that Daisy could've called them anytime.

Jade stepped in again saying every member was part of the blame, stopping in mid thought knowing she was playing peacekeeper again as Daisy looked at Jade worriedly fearing nothing was going to change. Jade sat back on her bed and let everyone else talk. The team had been talking for ages and finally they all agreed on all trying to do their fair share for the team as they all discussed about team activities. Agreeing on some of the activities of Ray's list they all chose dates and times of when each activity would take place.

Later that night Austin and Jade went up to the roof not to spar but to talk as Jade lightly told Austin that she'd still be willing to date him but can't spend every second with him. Austin understood as they talked and eventually they both headed back to the dorm and got some sleep as they had class in the morning. Over the next couple of weeks Team Jade became one as Eada was becoming better friends with Daisy slowly, Austin had kept his promise to Jade, he had stopped yelling at her and giving her a chance as Jade balanced her time with all members.

Daisy loved spending time with her team now however she also still spent quite a lot of time with Team TGRN and even more time with Tiger. The two got quite close just like Jade and herself and hung out frequently with Jade, as the three were hanging out together in Vale one day Jade had to leave and go back to Beacon as all team leaders were called their for some sort of meeting. Tiger and Daisy then said they'd catch up with her as the two talked, sharing a laugh and Tiger even asked Daisy how things were going with her team.

Daisy explained that team life was much better but Tiger could see something was on Daisy's mind, she had noticed something different about Daisy ever since meeting her, she had her theories but nothing confirmed. That is until Daisy leant in and attempted to kiss Tiger, Tiger put her hand up and onto Daisy's lips pushing her gently back saying "Whoa there, save that for Jade".

Daisy looked at Tiger astonished thinking how did Tiger know she had been crushing over Jade. The look on Daisy's face had Tiger giggle a little saying it was obvious giving Daisy a hug, she went on to explain that each time they hung out she was always looking to Jade in the group, hanging off every word she said and spending as much time as possible with her. Tiger looked into Daisy's eyes telling her she shouldn't be after someone if you're focused on someone else and Tiger had to burst Daisy's bubble more by saying she supports anyone being bi or a lesbian but she herself liked men and to help sympathize with Daisy she told her that she was really interested in Gretchen's brother Hazel.

Daisy apologized and Tiger just blew it off saying its no big deal and offered to talk more about it. Since they both really couldn't be with the person they wanted it gave them something to talk about with each other as they were both going through a similar experience. They went to a café ordering some drinks discussing how Tiger promised herself never to date a team member's family member or initiate anything. Looking to Daisy asking if she really liked Jade. Daisy laughed hoping to sound convincing saying that Jade's with someone and happy her friend is happy dating Austin.

Tiger looked at Daisy and sighed, telling her that's all you'll let yourself say out loud because saying what you truly want to say will be horrible and make you sound like a terrible person. Tiger continued to talk to Daisy trying to convince her to say the words just to her, warning her the pain will only grow. Daisy had been hurt before by the people that took her in, not only were they against being a lesbian but they kicked her out for it, she had to hide herself for years and hiding was the one thing she was good at but she knew she couldn't fool Tiger and agreed.

Looking down before looking to Tiger stating Jade shouldn't be with Austin and how Jade should be with her. Tiger hugged Daisy apologizing that it can't be and there maybe a chance Jade would never see her like that even if Austin and her break up. Daisy knew this but each time she had walked in on Austin and Jade kissing, holding hands or even standing close to each other and especially the way they looked at each other, it hurt Daisy a lot but being a good friend she also mentioned to Tiger that she vowed not to wreck another couple.

Tiger comforted Daisy as best she could, she too was in a similar situation however she had to ask if Daisy had ever tried asking Jade out before Austin, Daisy then told her the story how when the team was still apart and the time when Jade and her went on a walk they had found a bench to sit on, enjoying each others company talking and joking, as Daisy explained she thought they had a moment. The kind of moment leading up to the kiss, the one you see in movies type of moment but people came by and it was ruined, Jade and her never discussed it but Daisy swore that she saw Jade blushing.

It didn't matter anyway as Jade is now with Austin and nothing was going to change so being at peace with it that's why she went for Tiger, because they spent so much time together and figured it would also help her move on but now talking to Tiger she sees it would do more harm then good. Not wanting to ruin a friendship the two decided to be friends there for one another whenever they needed each other making a pact that they would always be there for each other no matter what.

The two returned to Beacon like nothing happened as they met up with Jade, Daisy and Tiger shared a quick look as Daisy was eager to hear what Jade had to say and thrilled to be close to her however Tiger had to go to her team to see what the leaders were told as Jade and Daisy went looking for Eada and Austin. Daisy and Jade talked as they walked, Daisy just glad to at least be friends with Jade was enough...

To be continued...
