-Chapter 22- What?

That night after classes and an awkward quiet dinner amongst the team, Daisy and Tiger arrived at the arena to train like they had been all Summer. Instead of starting the training straight away Tiger had Daisy sit down and started talking to her about Jade, Tiger did her best not to make it seem like she was a Mum telling her daughter off but as the new Leader of Team JDTE she needed the team to be alright. Tiger explained how Daisy shouldn't hold anything against Jade, she showed she was on her side as Tiger reminded Daisy that she had always been on her side and hoped Jade would one day wake up and realize the girl that loved her. Tiger then had to ask if Daisy really liked Violet and that's when Daisy lost control and started crying.

Tiger hugged her thinking she was too harsh but Daisy shook her head which was buried in Tiger's shoulder telling her that Violet dumped her. After taking a good 10 minutes for Daisy to calm down to speak clearly, Daisy told the Tiger the story about how Violet broke up with her, how she regretted going out with her in the first place as she seemed to think that she had ruined her chance with Jade. Tiger kept coddling Daisy encouraging her that she may still have a chance and explaining how everyone makes mistakes, proud of Daisy as she actually did her best to move on and envied of Daisy's patience. The two talked and Daisy mentioned that Jade was still in love with Austin but asked why Jade couldn't love her?

Tiger knew Jade loved Daisy as a friend at the very least and made sure to make that point, the two continued to talk and it took some time but Tiger managed to convince Daisy not to give up on Jade just yet however just wait a bit longer, Jade had basically finally accepted Austin's death and now she had just learnt that Daisy was into her but came back to Daisy seeing someone. Daisy thanked Tiger and asked if Eada was talking to Jade and Tiger nodded however what Eada and Jade didn't know was Daisy was now single again. After their little heart to heart Tiger and Daisy grabbed their weapons and started sparring as planned, Tiger reminded Daisy she'd always be there for her as the duo started training.

Back in the dorm Eada had Jade sit down on her bed as she started to discuss things with her. All Jade knew was that Daisy liked her all year and she had no idea what to think, part of her says to go all for nothing but another part of her is telling her to just stay friends, then factoring in what happened with Austin and now the issue was she had returned to find Daisy taken by another girl giving her second thoughts. Eada stopped Jade before she overthought things anymore and got her to keep calm, Eada reminded Jade that she didn't contact anyone during her time away which killed Daisy and helped her make the decision to move on and try things with Violet who was clearly into Daisy.

Jade asked Eada what she should do and Eada just gave her the advice of being there for Daisy just like the rest of her team, be friends etc. Mentioning Jade could use this time to see how things go as Eada reminded Jade that it may not work out between Daisy and Violet or it could, convincing Jade she shouldn't shut Daisy out. Not only would it bad for them but it would be bad for the team, she continued by telling Jade it wasn't only her that was missing Austin. As Eada opened up to Jade about losing her brother after she had found him, she didn't let it weigh her down however still missing him. She didn't get bogged down in the specifics like what if... or if I... but thankful for the time she did get to spend with him.

Jade nodded along and hugged Eada realizing she had been selfish and had only cared about her own feelings. Jade promised Eada that she would make sure to be more aware of her friends emotions and actually support Daisy in whatever she decided to do and won't get in the way of Daisy and Violet. With the talk out of the way Eada and Jade started working on an assignment together as the two studied while Daisy and Tiger were training. As the two worked they talked, bounced ideas off each other and were having a great time even though they were doing an assignment. Tiger and Daisy walked in all sweaty and sitting down taking a break before they'd get in the shower.

At the exact same moment the girls were in their dorm, somewhere in the World of Remnant the Fall Maiden was down, she had been attacked and as Qrow sat with her he tried his best to call Ozpin on his scroll but being in a bad area for reception didn't allow the call to go through. The Fall Maiden looked to Qrow having forgotten the name of the young woman to replace her as she was having trouble remembering. She looked to the sky thinking her powers would have to be transferred randomly until she saw a picture in front of her and the same voice constantly saying Eada Vendetta as the voice spoke with the aid of a free hand pointing at Eada in the picture making sure to say her name clearly as her eyes started to close with the two people by her side.

The 4 girls were in their dorm, Tiger just got up to go have a shower when she was stopped, stopped at the sight of a bright light encircling Eada, Jade, Daisy and Tiger all stared, focusing on Eada, Jade reached for her hand and grabbed it asking what was happening. Eada had no idea, the light seemed to be fusing with her and not being harmful to Eada or the other girls in the room, Eada's eyes shown green, a mark developed across her back and all of a sudden the light vanished as all 4 girls stared at each other but mainly at Eada, Jade jumped to her feet and said that they'd better take Eada to the nurse's room instantly. Tiger, and Daisy agreed but Eada just stood there, she stared at her hands, feeling stronger than ever and now having a light surround her eyes for some reason.

The others got up and went for the door, calling out to Eada who was still glued to the spot on the floor, a knock on the door startled them, Tiger opened the door up slightly to see Professor Ozpin standing there looking as serious as ever. Asking what he wanted he returned her question with his own asking if he could come in and also adding he has to speak with Eada and the rest of the team. Tiger let Professor Ozpin in as he got everyone to sit down and made sure to let them know it was a serious talk and assured them of their safety. He began by addressing everyone a great secret he had been hiding from the world and only a select few of people knew the truth cause if people knew the truth the world would be in utter chaos.

It took an hour for the 4 girls to accept the truth, to accept that Eada was now the Fall Maiden, he further discussed that she'd have to not use her power openly and would have to do some more training but with Ozpin himself. Everything will be on the down low and he assured not just Eada can be trained by him but the rest of the team too. The girls seemed to accept it all at once but they were really surprised when Professor Ozpin told them as soon as their training was done it would be best to keep on the move so when all 4 girls were ready they would get their Huntsman licenses, Qrow had finally arrived asking Ozpin if they have been informed and also shared a look with Ozpin which got them not to tell the girls something else that they may need to.

Before they left Jade asked if Austin knew about the truth putting two and two together as he grew up with Qrow training him, Qrow nodded and told them not to take it personally that he didn't tell anyone as he promised not to and it wasn't his secret to tell as he drank from his flask. After a sleepless night the 4 girls went to class as usual and in the evening they met with Qrow and Ozpin in the vault under the school where they started practicing. When Jade sparred with Qrow she could swear she was sparring with Austin, obviously their styles were similar even though Austin had his own version but it made Jade have a happy moment remembering Austin and felt closer to him by sparring with Austin just like he did when he was growing up.

The 4 girls spent the next month training with Ozpin and Qrow and their skills had grown to a new level, able to also train with the 4th year students, throughout the month the girls all supported each other, they couldn't afford not to be and still made time to see Nell and Ray but couldn't tell them the truth but only tell them since they were improving so fast they were going to graduate early. They promised to keep in contact as the girls all kept their chins high, even though they knew about Salem it wasn't going to stop them from caring about each other and everyone in Remnant. Daisy had opened up to the team and told them she was actually dumped by Violet and as the month went by Daisy followed Tiger's advice and things were going well.

Jade and Daisy still needed to talk but their time was consumed with classes, training, hanging with Nell and Ray. The times that they could talk they were both too nervous. They were always with the team, Daisy was still crazy about Jade, she wished she could just go to her and kiss her, actually say what she thought about her but settled for friends. Jade had been thinking about Daisy to, she had talked to her parents and they told her to do whatever made her happy, she got advice from them about remembering Austin but he would want her to move on and someone close to her was head over heels for her. She had thought about it seriously, the nights she couldn't sleep she looked to Daisy's direction.

One day after class they had entered the vault to train like usual but instead there was a cake, Professor Ozpin and Qrow standing waiting for them as they congratulated them all feeling like they were up for the task at hand to join the fight against Salem. Professor Ozpin used his scroll and each gave them their license, they had some cake and it was a day of celebration. Ozpin informed them that they would finish at the end of the week officially. Telling them once again to keep the full story hush but essentially they could train after class if they wanted to however were free to explore Vale and see their friends more often however they would be leaving right on Monday.

The 4 girls decided to go show their licenses to Ray and Nell and also helped them that night with their service, afterwards Jade went to her parents place, they were so proud of her, Jade thanked them but went a little quiet, her parents asked what was the matter and she finally said the words that Daisy would love to hear saying she likes Daisy. Her parents were thrilled and asked her so many question including the most important one, "Are you going to tell her?" Jade nodded, then shook her head, then shrugged telling her parents she didn't know and doubted that Daisy still saw her like that, it had been over a month and they hadn't really had the time to think about dating.

Her parents supported her no matter what but her Dad really gave her the advice of being the earlier the better, mentioning Daisy had been into her for over a year, as each day had gone by her patience slowly withers to and the more used to being friends she will get and if she waited too long then she may just end up finding herself in the friend zone. That worried Jade, she didn't want to be friend zoned but she also did, there was something there between them, she had ignored it before but now she was facing it. Making a decision she returned to Beacon living the rest of the school life to the fullest until it was Sunday night. They all promised to hang out with Ray and Nell after helping their service as they would begin their first journey as Huntresses.

The 6 girls joked and talked, they gave each other small gifts promising they would keep in touch and told each other that they'll be back in no time. Eada and Tiger shared a look as they were packing up the chairs as they then told Jade and Daisy that they'd go help Ray and Nell in the kitchen. The two left leaving Daisy and Jade alone, the two were quiet as they continued stacking the chairs and Jade finally mustered enough courage turning to Daisy and told her that she'd like to talk to her...
