-Chapter 24- The Search

The 4 girls had gone back to their room to read the note and discuss on how to go about finding Silver when they got to Higanbana. Tiger raised the issue that what if the note was to throw them off the trail and lead them in the opposite direction, everyone looked towards Daisy but she protested that she and the Huntsman go way back and does trust them, if it happened to be a false trail then they could sure eliminate that lead and also mentioned their main goal was to work their way to Higanbana so they'd still be doing what was asked of them. Tiger took it into consideration, asking everyone's input and in the end everyone agreed with Daisy, they then went to bed, planning to leave in the morning.

The next day the team headed for Higanbana, aboard an airship they enjoyed the ride, planned on how to find Silver, a supposed legend in Anima and rarely seen. All they had to go on was a location which could end up being wrong, Jade, Eada and Tiger discussed it thoroughly looking at a map and pinpointing areas around the town. Jade thought back and remembered Daisy was from Higanbana so she'd most likely know the area and may have an idea where to look. She turned to Daisy calling out to her as she asked her a rhetorical question as she hailed from Higanbana and if she knew any locations that could help pinpoint this guy named Silver. Jade stopped and finally realized Daisy had not heard her.

Daisy had been sitting staring out of the window of the airship just focused on the horizon, the view going by her slowly, Jade felt bad and got up walking over to her. She grabbed Daisy's hand and asked how she was doing, Daisy didn't snap but she wasn't being herself, Jade looked into her eyes and saw conflicted emotions but she mostly focused on how they showed her sadness. Daisy went on reminding Jade about Carl and Stacey, Jade tried to remain positive but knew it wouldn't do much, Daisy was coming back as a qualified Huntress but her story started in Higanbana, she had grown up there, tried to be friends with so many and all she got was a cold shoulder or no support.

Being a faunus was tough in Higanbana however Daisy was trusted as she was working at the popular inn and had Stacey and Carl backing her, she was treated like a family member which was one of the best experiences that Daisy has had but it all went away when she came out. She was returning to her childhood town, wondering what people may think of her, wondering if they'd accept her or even serve her, Stacey and Carl could be the ones to help find this guy Silver and she didn't want to jeopardize finding Silver and also meeting with Professor Ozpin's contact. She told her team where good areas were but told them not to associate with her when they arrive in Higanbana as news of her return would spread quick and may lower chances of getting information.

Tiger, Jade and Eada were reluctant to do so but they separated her bags from the team but promised to stay in contact as Daisy made a plan to go to a spot she had found when she was growing up, where she hid from the hateful eyes, where she could be herself and train in peace. Arriving in Higanbana Tiger, Jade and Eada left the airship first and headed straight for the inn, Daisy waited to be the last person off the airship, instead of following her teammates she picked up her scroll and made a call as she headed to the town's exit. She made her way to her spot and began waiting, meanwhile Jade, Daisy and Eada entered the inn, Tiger requested a room as Eada went to find out anything she could about Silver as Daisy got a drink thinking she should've gone with Daisy.

It was too late now but Daisy was adamant in going alone for some reason, Jade thought to herself making a mental note to keep an eye on Daisy being back in her hometown. Eada had gotten the same bit of information from everyone in Shion village saying Silver is more a legend then anything. Tiger met with Stacey and instantly as soon as she introduced herself as a Huntress Stacey was kind and helpful, clearly sucking up to a new Huntress, she asked many questions trying to get information from Tiger trying to disguise it as just small talk and getting to know her guest. Daisy had warned her 3 teammates and Tiger kept her wits making sure to give Stacey the satisfaction of very basic information and when she felt the timing was right that's when she asked.

She was having a good conversation about the town of Higanbana, some stories and Tiger brought up the Huntsman known as Silver and pretended to be intrigued from only hearing rumours, Stacey smiled and told her the exact same thing as everyone else in the inn however mentioned that she had heard of him having a camp nearby. Tiger tipped Stacey some lien thanking her for the chat as she had brought her up to her room, afterwards she found Eada talking to some Huntsman and doing her job to make an good impression starting to build the social network. They had left a few towns out as Jade made her report but Professor Ozpin seemed happy they were already in Higanbana.

Whilst the 3 were at the inn, Daisy had met up with Professor Ozpin's contact, the contact provided Daisy with some information and told them to make their way to Mistral. A lot of people had started going missing in the city of Mistral, there are Huntsman and local police doing what they can to find the missing people but it's like they had just vanished without a trace. Daisy messaged her team that she had met Professor Ozpin's contact and still outside the town while Jade got the message she told Daisy to stay put as they were still networking and perhaps be easier to come at night. Daisy agreed as Jade and Tiger remained in the inn while Eada went to keep Daisy company.

Eada entered the hideout Daisy had told them about and after emerging into the small clearing she stopped in her tracks for a second as Daisy was in the middle of fighting Grimm, Eada grabbed her weapon and charged into the action helping out her team mate. After they had slain the Grimm Daisy seemed a little nervous, more nervous then she should be as it was now safe with no signs of Grimm around. Eada asked Daisy if she was ok as she heard a familiar voice call out to Daisy telling her that was fun referring to the Grimm attacking. She heard the footsteps stop a few metres behind her, Daisy looked at her guiltily and apologetic with a splash of worry as Eada turned around to the voice now speaking to her "It's been a long time, nice to see you Eada".

Eada dropped her weapon, she couldn't believe her eyes seeing the silver eyes staring back at her, stepping closer in disbelief thinking it had to be some type of illusion, perhaps she stepped on or brushed against a plant that had her hallucinate, getting closer she reached out her hand and cautiously put her hand on Austin's shoulder. His body was warm, she stood still unable to process or even begin to know what to do as millions of thoughts rushed into her head trying to be 1st which kept her frozen. She wanted to ask why, she wanted to hug him, to hit him, pinch herself, run screaming etc. She had no idea what to do but realized Austin was now hugging her, when she realized this she hugged back as the brother and sister embraced.

They finally had to pull away as Eada started bursting into tears asking how he was alive, Austin told her it's a long story as they sat down on a fallen tree. Eada kept making sure she wasn't dreaming or hallucinating and that helped with Daisy confirming that she was seeing Austin to but it got Eada's brain functioning as she started to think of the questions she wanted and needed to ask, especially the question about how Daisy had kept her cool all this time and didn't act like her. Daisy felt guilty as she apologized to Eada but told her that she had known about Austin being alive for a couple of months now and also he was Silver, the legendary Huntsman people kept talking about and Ozpin's contact.

Austin started explaining how it all started at the Vytal festival, since he had known about Salem since growing up with Qrow he was recruited by Professor Ozpin to join the fight against Salem, how he had faked his death and had been helping Professor Ozpin all this time. Eada then asked about becoming a Maiden and Austin apologized once more telling her the story of the previous fall maiden being attacked, due to her old age and dementia she had trouble remembering who she was supposed to make the next fall maiden and that's when Austin had jumped to the rescue getting the first pic he could find along with Eada's name and obviously it worked as Eada was now the fall maiden.

As Eada took all of it in she had to wonder how Daisy got involved in all of this, Daisy explained that she had found Austin's scroll, she had no idea how it got there but it would've had to been moved there or originally put there by Austin, she had asked Austin when she first got in contact with him and he admitted that he left his scroll there on purpose. Daisy continued on how she tried to get the scroll working again or trying to get the data, it took a fair bit of time but she learnt that Austin had called Professor Ozpin right after his disappearance she said assigning quotation marks. She had gone to Professor Ozpin right away not wanting to tell everyone else yet, she wanted to get all information first.

Professor Ozpin had filled her in on everything, how he had approached Austin during the Vytal Festival and how Austin agreed, they put the plan in place. The original plan involved nobody finding out, the plan had to change now that Eada was the fall maiden. Eada then asked if Tiger or Jade knew and Austin shook his head along with Daisy, Daisy had to promise just like Austin that they'd keep this a secret until the right time, it was that time now however they knew Tiger would react just like Eada or slightly different but they weren't too sure how Jade would react, now being with Daisy and somehow Daisy knew Austin was alive may just be too much but also what would she do now that Austin was alive?

Eada eventually agreed to keep it secret as they made a plan to tell Tiger first then find the easiest and least painful way to break it to Jade that Austin is alive, Daisy had asked Austin if he wanted her back, it took a while to convince her as Daisy was super worried she would be dumped straight away if Austin admitted that he wanted her back. Finally convincing her that he did not want her back but he was wondering if they'd all become friends again or was their too much pain. Eada was glad she had her brother back and now could spend at least a little bit of time with him once more. She couldn't hold in her emotions once again as she started crying and hugging Austin once more, now they just had to tell Tiger and Jade...
