-Chapter 26- A new threat

Team JDTE just stared at Austin, out of all the time and energy he spent trying to become the best Huntsman he had suddenly done a 180 flip now wanting nothing to do with it. He talked about how he got Professor Ozpin's help and all he had to do was fake his death, help out Qrow with a few jobs then he was able to do whatever. He had gone back to Vacuo to his parent's grave, he had gotten his band mates back together and had visited Menagerie and found a great place moving around the continent of Amina. Jade asked what Austin had meant about the Silver Eyed Warriors as Austin then gave them the information that the people that called themselves the Silver Eyed Warriors had many rumours.

The most common rumour was they were Grimm slayers helping whoever but also charging rich clients for protection, some people thought they were bandits but those stories are mostly believed to be false as their hasn't been any proof of exactly which bandits raided places. It had the girls focus on the task at hand as Austin then gave them the information that he was told to give them by Professor Ozpin, it was hard for the girls to really trust this information, Professor Ozpin knew Austin was alive to and he didn't tell them but they received the reports of people in the continent of Amina suddenly disappearing and this wasn't just in Mistral but it also was happening in the small towns like Kuroyuri, Higanbana, Shion and other towns in Amina.

Austin stood up and tried his best to show he was serious as he put his hand on her shoulder, Jade remembered how he had embraced her many times, unsure of where this was going, a part of her was thinking maybe it wouldn't hurt to get back together, Daisy on the other hand saw that Austin was obviously making a move and trying to win her back. Jade started believing so to as she went for a kiss just by pure muscle memory and all her emotions confusing her. Right in front of Eada, Tiger and Daisy, Daisy watched as the girl she loved was about to kiss Austin however Austin stopped her and said he wasn't interested in her anymore, Jade then realized what she had tried to do and turned to see Daisy not meeting her gaze.

She called out to Daisy trying to step to her but Austin stopped her saying he had something important to tell her but Daisy out of pure anger revealed that she knew about Austin being alive in such a casual manner that it really upset her as Jade pulled away from Austin trying to get to Daisy, Eada caught Jade in her path as Tiger took Daisy out of the room who was ready to defend herself but more upset then anything. It took some time for Jade to calm down but eventually Austin did get to tell her that her friends David and Julie were amongst the people that had gone missing. Instantly Jade tried calling them both but after multiple calls their scrolls went straight to voicemail saying they were out of range.

Austin apologized and told Jade to make things work with Daisy, he then went on how he knew Daisy was into her whilst they were dating and even said that he knew she was into Daisy but never let herself believe it. Jade was still angry accusing Daisy of keeping the subject from her then Austin had to basically make her face the truth once again saying she was the one to make a move getting her to remember that she had just tried to kiss Austin and perhaps Daisy had a good excuse or a reason as in to why she didn't tell her. With that Austin wished them luck and told them he would be performing the next night so if they were still in town in 24 hours then they could at least get some entertainment.

Austin left going to tell the exact same thing to Daisy and Tiger but when he left the room he couldn't find them, Daisy had left the inn, rushing off into the dark, Tiger did her best to follow but lost her as Daisy left town, she knew the area well and could see at night, she called out to Daisy but had to eventually return to the inn. Rushing straight back to the inn to report it to Jade and Eada, they were at a table and when Tiger told them Jade didn't show anything telling them to leave her as she's probably run off to join Austin or go back to the girl in Vale. Tiger and Eada were very concerned however they knew both of them shouldn't be alone as Tiger got herself a torch and Eada stayed with Jade as Tiger went back out into the forest area surrounding Higanbana in hopes of finding Daisy.

It was getting more cold by the second, Tiger had to keep to the path as she couldn't afford to get lost, multiple times she had tried calling Daisy's scroll with no luck and eventually up ahead she saw a campfire. Perhaps that was Daisy she made her way to the light but meaning she had to go off the path, approaching the campfire she saw people but not one did she recognize, turning back she couldn't even see where the path was and had to take a chance stumbling into the camp. She sat by the fire warming herself up and apologized for barging in however the people with the silver eyes smiled and handed her a mug of tea as they asked if she was ok which led to Tiger asking if they had seen her friend Daisy.

They pointed to the tent Daisy was in and they told her just to say she was coming in, she did so and entering the tent she found Austin and Daisy sitting together with a mug in their hand looking at her, Austin got up and invited Tiger in trying to keep casual and make a joke that his tent was popular tonight but it didn't bode well. Daisy apologized to Tiger knowing it was stupid to run off in the cold but Daisy knew the area well, Tiger admitted that she was stupid herself for going after Daisy by herself in an unknown area, cold and recklessly diving into a camp which could of been filled with who knows what type of people. Austin cut in saying they were lucky and told them they could stay there for the night.

With no sudden urge to go back in the cold they got settled as Tiger messaged Eada and told them what happened and where they'll be sleeping tonight. Despite having shelter and catching up with Austin Daisy couldn't shake the feeling that maybe it would be best if Team JDTE went their separate ways or at least be better if she did thinking she had ruined everything with Jade. Daisy also had to ask once again if he was after Jade even though she saw him stop the incoming kiss as Austin reassured her he wasn't interested. Tiger had her own disbeliefs to but what he had shown it did seem Austin wasn't after her, Tiger turned her attention to Daisy though reminding her of the conversation they had the previous year.

Daisy listened on as Tiger continued convincing Daisy that perhaps instead of fighting and letting their raw emotions control them that maybe they should try talking to one another instead, Austin chimed in saying that not all relationships are 100% perfect, there are always going to be bad times and he knew the love they shared was more stronger then he and Jade, Jade was stubborn however it's truly perfect when you stick by someone when things go bad and perhaps she shouldn't give up so quickly. Daisy then twisted his words and told him the exact same thing about becoming a Huntsman but Austin lost his supportive smile and went back to his natural frown telling her that things were different before getting up and leaving the tent to only Tiger and Daisy.

Back at the inn Jade and Eada had returned to their room, Jade quite upset and angry but she had calmed down now in turmoil not knowing what to do about Daisy, she had tried to attack her, thinking about her reaction got her feeling guilty and she regretted what she did deeply. Eada did her best to comfort her to tell her everything would be ok, Jade was losing it though, after each second she believed she had ruined things with Daisy and also asking why Austin didn't want to be with her. Ever since Eada had woken up she had been a supportive team member or she hoped to herself that she came across that way but it stopped her from really telling people what they needed to hear.

In the moment she had to realize to be a bit of her old self as Jade needed a wake up call and she was the only one around to give it to Jade and she got her attention by slapping her. Jade put a hand to her cheek but went quiet looking at Eada in shock, Eada had been losing her patience and started yelling at Jade that there was no reason to overthink things now, yes she may have tried to attack Daisy but told her to cut herself some slack, it was a very high pressured moment and everyone's emotions were all over the place. She stated that she could've handled her emotions and actions better but the bright side was she was feeling guilty and regretful and now perhaps she could calm down and think of what to do and what she wanted.

Jade looked at Eada then looked down quietly asking what she thought she should do, Eada said she needed to apologize to Daisy and actually be with her 100% but that was her opinion now Jade had to make it on her own. Eada calmed down a little but continued having to remind Jade that she was losing Daisy. Jade looked up in shock, tears were forming in her eyes asking Eada what she meant by that and Eada clearly laid it out that out of everything Daisy had stood by her, supported her in the best way she could, she didn't try break her and Austin up, how she wanted her to be happy even if that hurt her, she is one of the most patient people she had ever seen but even the most patient of people eventually have their breaking point.

Daisy's was coming out slowly, she had confessed to Eada that she felt like she was losing Jade, perhaps that could be the reason she was hesitant on telling her Austin was alive, Jade begun to see the previous fight they had before they left Beacon and remembering Daisy stammer out her words as she was nervous and not wanting to fight, she then thought that Daisy might've been trying to tell her then. She felt really awful as Eada continued that if this kept up not only would she lose Daisy as her girlfriend but even possibly as a friend and then who knows what will happen, Eada didn't want to have to choose sides so she sat Jade on her bed telling her to really think to herself.

If she was going to chase after Austin, apologize and hope Daisy took her back, just be friends with both of them or go out on her own and any other scenarios she could possibly play out but she needed to choose one and stick with it because not only would it make everything easier but it would be fair. She gave Jade a big hug and whispered into her ear that she wasn't the only one to miss Austin and apologized for slapping her, with that she told her she'd be down at the bar if she needed to talk but left her alone to think, Jade laid on the bed when she was left alone, staring at the ceiling thinking to herself. She knew which path was the most brightly lit but still thought of each option, she needed to get herself together so she could go find David and Julie operating at 100%.

Down at the bar it was Eada really thinking about their next move as a team, people had now mysteriously vanished without a trace, Austin was alive and well and somehow not trying to become a Huntsman for some reason she needed to look into that and now having the infamously rumoured 'Silver Eyed Warriors' to possibly worry about to, hopefully things would be better tomorrow...

To be continued...
