Sai greeted her at her office door with a banquet of scarlet and lilac roses, bright blue delphiniums, dust pink astrantia, a mix of pastel blue and purple scabiosa, rouge pink snapdragons and eucalyptus. They had been delicately wrapped and a red velvet bow tied them all together.
"These were delivered and addressed to you." Sai informed her and handed her the small card that came with it.
'Sorry I left without a goodbye.
Thank you for the whiskey.'
Yua smiled as she took the flowers from Sai and asking him to find a vase for her. As she entered her office, she took in the soft sweet scent of the flowers. She hoped she would see him again soon. But she was also glad that Madara hadn't trashed her office after she locked him inside.
For the rest of the morning, she tried to make her bar work stretch out. She had become so adept to doing her work quickly and yet efficiently, in order to fit in the most amount of time for her arms dealing. A knock at her door brought her out of her daydreaming, as she blinked, she wondered just how long had she been staring at her computer screen.
She couldn't help but smirk as the man from the night before entered her office. He appeared to be in the same outfit as was before. Then again, it was likely he had several of the same clothes in same colour, men often did.
"I see you got the flowers." He stated as he spotted them in a vase on her desk. Yua nodded and leaned forwards on her desk.
"They're lovely." She remarked as she gestured for him to sit in front of her.
"Just lovely?" He teased her and she smiled.
"Beautiful then." The man smirked and sat down. He frowned when he got a glimpse of her neck. She had slight light bruising from Madara's attempt to strangle her.
"What happened to your neck?" He asked concerned. Yua had forgotten about the bruising.
"Oh, a drunk from the bar. He was dealt with promptly." She told him with a sigh. He decided that he would just leave it for now.
"You know your staff weren't very forthcoming about your name. The only clue I have is this..." He held up her business card. 'Miss Y. Kim.' "What does the Y stand for?" He asked curiously.
"Before I tell you, why don't you introduce yourself?" She asked as she leaned back in her chair.
"Ibiki." He answered her. "Your turn."
"Just Ibiki?" She asked and he chuckled.
"For now."
"That's not fair, you know my last name." She countered.
"Not my fault you gave me your business card." He pointed out and she sighed but still smiled.
"Yua." She told him.
"Yua-san, now that I know your name. Would you like to go for lunch?" He asked, catching her by surprise. "If you're not too busy." He then added.
"Sure." She smiled and stood up. "I'd love to." She added as he too stood up.
Ibiki opened her office door for her.
"My lady." He joked as he allowed her to pass through first. Yua giggled and led the way.
Once they were outside on the streets, Ibiki offered her his arm which she took.
"For someone who looks so dangerous, you are very chivalrous." She remarked as they walked.
"Well, I may be dangerous but a woman should always be treated with the upmost respect." He told her; his tone was almost teasing.
"Where are we going?" She then asked, looking around for clues.
"I was thinking barbecue?" Yua nodded and they carried walking. Yua wasn't sure why she had trusted him, but she had. It was probably the first lunch date she had ever had.
"So Ibiki, what made you come see me again?" Yua asked once they had sat down and ordered.
"Do I need a reason?" He asked.
"Well, most men I met, are only interested in one thing." She stated, hinting. "I prefer, if you are only after one thing, you tell me and we can get it over with." She continued.
"Well you don't beat around the bush." Ibiki chuckled but Yua remained serious. "I'm not after a one-night stand if that's what you're hinting at." He then told her and smiled.
"May I ask what it is you are after then?" She asked curious, she wondered what he could possibly say.
"I guess I would like to see you regularly, everyday would be better." He told her and she blushed ever so lightly. "I would like it even more if we could be more than friends." He then added and she smiled.
"How do you think you'll manage that?" She asked, biting her lip as she smirked.
"You do ask a lot of questions." He remarked and she shrugged at them.
"I like to know everything." She admitted as their food arrived and Ibiki smirked like he found what she said somewhat amusing.
"But you can't know if we'll get that far already, can you?" He pointed out, almost smug.
"True but I can protect myself ahead of time." She muttered as she started cooking her food. She hadn't realised that Ibiki had heard her.
"I won't hurt you, not intentionally." He told her, taking her by surprise. "I take it someone hurt you before?" He asked her and Yua shook her head.
"More like I had a stupid crush on someone who would never show me the same affection. I was stupid enough to chase them for years until I finally saw how stupid I was being." She admitted with a sigh.
"I don't think you're stupid." He told her
"You sir, barely know me." She pointed out with a smile.
"You're a business woman. I doubt you would own your own bar if you were stupid."
"I guess you're right." She admitted before starting to eat the meat she had cooked.
"Besides, if that guy was too blind to see what was in front of him, then he was the stupid one." He told her and she blushed.
After they ate, he walked her back to the bar. "Can I see you tonight?" He asked her.
"Maybe." She teased and walked into her bar.
