On with the story
Natsu and Happy arrived at the harbour town, they were travelling to as the smell of the ocean waters hits their noses
The two were walking in the town as they pass by fishermen
"yum~. the smell of ocean water reminds me of Tuna, Crab, Lobsters, and so many more fishes" Happy said while drooling as his mind was in a fish filled land
"Crabs aren't fish" Natsu said before he stopped walking "and…"
Natsu looks around as there were no stores selling fish, rather only vegetables
"no one is selling fish here…strange" Natsu crossed his arms as everywhere he looks, no store is selling any sorts of fish
"aye. There's no point having a town near the ocean that doesn't sell fish or crabs or anything" Happy said
The two ventured in the docks as they find only a few fishing boats docked
"more stranger, this place used to have dozens of fishing boats..but now they only had a few left" Natsu said as the fishermen in the area, everyone was just lazing around
"maybe they're out fishing?" Happy said, while guessing
"ain't no one going to fish in these waters again!" a voice shouted out as Natsu and Happy turns around and sees an old man with an eyepatch over his left eye with a metal under jaw part under his mouth; standing behind them. "not because of that blasted Kraken out in the sea!"
Kraken
A legendary creature of the deep sea that seizes ships and fishing boats and drag them to the bottom of the sea
"a Kraken….here?" Natsu said "I don't believe it"
"eh? Why?" Happy asked
"Krakens lives in the deep ocean water, and they tend to very rarely show themselves to humans" Natsu explained
"Baaah! You're talking will nilly!" the old man exclaimed "listen here, boy! A Kraken is a vicious, carnivorous, and deadly giant squid of the sea! Their tentacles come out of the water, and grabs you! Before eating you!"
"i-I don't think I want to eat s-squid for a while" Happy said shaking in fear
"is that so?" Natsu said before he sensed something
He took a glance to a nearby cliff and he spotted something or someone hiding behind the rocks in the oceans
Taking a better look, Natsu sees a person sinking into the water and swims away
"that…." Natsu thought before looks to the old man who was going to a fishing boat "what are you doing, old man?"
"fishing! What else would a fisherman do!?" the old man exclaimed as he got on the boat and started to unravel the rope tied to the port "and my name ain't old man! It's Simon! Simon Mikazuchi"
"but there's the Kraken there, right?" Happy said "won't it be dangerous?"
"when I was still a lad…" the old man said as he holds a hand to his left eyepatch "..I lost my left eye and my little sister to this blasted creature of the sea! And till this day! I vowed to take my revenge upon it!"
"I see…good luck on that" Natsu said as he started walking away "come on, Happy"
"a-aye!" Happy said as he did a bow to Simon before he ran to catch up with Natsu
"hmph, kids" Simon said as he throws the rope into his boat before he opened his tied sail
Natsu and Happy were now at a bar as it was bustling with fishermen drinking beer
"order up" a bar man said as he placed a mug of beer for Natsu, and a glass of water for Happy before going away to serve up some more for the other customers
"ne, Natsu. You think the old man is going to be fine?" Happy asked while holding his glass
"who knows?" Natsu said as his helmet's mouthpiece slides open, and he grabs his mug of beer before drinking it "I only care of my objective here"
"finding a mate, right? But what type?" Happy asked
"hoping to find a mermaid type species here, I remembered that if I'm to become a great king; I'll need a mate who can control the affairs of the sea" Natsu said "but I won't find any mermaids here"
"why? Because they're not many fish here?" Happy said as Natsu nodded
"that, and there is something else than the Kraken in this part of the ocean" Natsu said as he finished his mug of beer before his helmet's mouthpiece closed "something….i rather despise"
Before long, thunder suddenly rang out as a storm approached the town from the sea
The storm hits hard as Simon's boat shakes upon the shaking waves
"damn storm! I thought you would come next month!" Simon shouted out as he tries to stir his boat out of the storm
Before long, something hits Simon's boat causing it to shake hard
"t-this is!" Simon exclaimed as he sees giant tentacles springing out of the oceans
Simon soon grabbed a metal spear and holds it tight
"come on! I've been waiting 20 years to meet you again, Kraken!" Simon shouted as the giant tentacles swayed around the waters before they slammed down on Simon's boat, taking the fisherman into the ocean
"Gaaahh!" Simon shouted out as he sinks into the ocean, bubbles floating up
As Simon sinks into the water, a pair of giant red eyes appear, and a giant mouth filled with thousands of sharp teeth as well
Simon started to sink further deep as he was sinking into the giant mouth
But before Simon could sink into the giant mouth, something or someone came swimming at high speed and grabs Simon, just before the giant mouth could bite down on him
Simon's eyes looks in a daze as he sees the one who saved him but could barely make out who it was because of nearly lacking of oxygen
"a….mermaid?" Simon thought as he sees the silhouette of a woman holding him close and was swimming fast
Simon looks at the mermaid before he fainted
